~F2P Guide: Mining mithril the easy way~(No pictures, sorry)

Featured Replies

I was mining mithril today to sell, then I decided hey, I'll make a guide to mining mithril quickly for the Tip.It forums, well, here it is:

REQUIREMENTS:

Dragon Slayer started (Or even better, done)

55 Mining

40 Attack

A lot of patience

NEEDED ITEMS:

Coins

Rune Pickaxe

A bit of armor to protect yourself through the dungeon

HOW TO DO IT:

-First, wield your rune pickaxe and catch a ship to Karamja (30 GP)

-Next, walk to the volcano dungeon and climb down

-When you're in, walk to the odd wall and push it, then run through.

-Now you're on Crandor, run through the island to the SOUTH-WESTERN area, where the mithril is.

-Mine the mithril until satisfied, or until you have an inventory full.

-Then either teleport to Falador, or walk and sail back to the main land and bank the Mithril ores.

-Repeat

HAVE FUN MINING!

Also, mithril ore will sell at around 350-500 each, very profitable.

Will update when I feel like it.

Do you know how much time it's going to take to walk back to Crandor from Fally or the Draynor bank? I don't think it's worth the time. You'd might as well mine at the Al Kharid mine or something.

That seems like quite a bit of work just to get some mithril..

You'd probably have a better chance at just world hopping where there's one or two rocks, rather than wait for a couple of rocks to respawn.

Good guide, none the less, it might help out some people who don't know of Crandor.

Wha.. What..? Where am I?

:)

Still a great way, Crandor has the most mithril in F2P out of the wilderness.

Will update when I feel like it.

Even though mithril ore seems to sell at a fairly decent price, it still takes a long time to get a whole lot of ores.

The only problem is it takes a LONG time to do just 1 trip of this mining. Plus, mithril ore isn't commonly bought (atleast that I've ever noticed) and most people probably prefer buying it in bulk. So it'd take a LONG time to get a lot of ores too.

Good idea though for a bit of pocket change I suppose. But I don't see it working in the long run if you ask me.

Acctualy, if you mine 500 mithril, then sell it for 500 each, you'd get 250k, just like that. ;)

at 55 mining you have no idea how long that would take to mine it all, and i suggest that you mine it then mine coal and smelt it right there

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

Interesting... Somewhat flawed but hey, some people might enjoy this method.

If maybe you wanted to make a full Mithril Ore Mining guide (eg. every possible Mithril Ore location, mining times etc) for F2p then I suggest posting it in The Archive of Wisdom.

Good Luck, Um Bongo. ::'

I rarely see autoers in the lumby swap mine. i sit there and world hop when i mine all the mith/addy

its easy to get away from hobs mine.. but i detest the hobsgoblins' relentless disturbance....

me too!only my mining is 65. Lumby swamp is sooooo much better and almost always as underpopulated. Its like people forget about it after they do restless ghost. O great now I have competition there. No one buys mith ores anymore anyway. Its pointless.

The hobs are actually pretty good PKer shields; turn auto retaliate to off, then if a PKer wants to hit you, he has to not only beat off his own hobbie, but then kill yours, by which time you should have already fled. At least, that's how I mine out there.

mining mith is nowhere near as good as coal, but since you cant get into the guild :P i guess it's ok, but must be slow with only 55 mining. i use lumbridge swamps for mith, crandor is probably better though.

also, wrong forum

hobgoblin mine is possibly the best place to mine mithril as there are 5+ rocks and no one goes there because it is in wilderness. if you can get a friend or two that will help kill hobs then just go there and mine mith. by the time your done minning one rock the next one is back

Dragon drops - 2

visage drops- 1

barrow drops - 5

this guide is time worthy if you bring enough superheat runes with you. you mine coal and mith together on crandor then superheat them into bars. but, with low mining level like below 70, it's a pain in the ***.

I am back.
