Taito2004
So yeah, im at agility arena at the moment, and I was wondering, is there a pattern to the way the arrows go? Has anyone ever thought about it? and I know things are supposed to be random in game, but there's no such thing as random is there? Hmm... maybe if there was some pattern, there would be a way to get 100% of tickets, and know exactly where to go. if it was looped though, I wonder how many tickets it would be before the loop reset. Drop 15-50 different random items and mark what baloons they fall in. See if it is really random or you can test it. Failed cause not enough volunteers. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE! wild_goat_14
i love that place and i saw one dude there with 90 agility that told me how he thinks it works and i agree. For each platform that is lighted up then the next one is at one of three possible destinations.it might be one huge loop....but if theres and experiment id be glad to help I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
Taito2004
I'de happy do an experiment, BUT, I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to start. :P 92/99 Fishing | 119/120 Combat | 92/99 Firemaking | 94/99 Fletching | 1878/1900 Total | 85/85 Slayer | 80/80 Prayer
henk333
It doesn't matter whether it is random or not, if you do it right you allways get 100% tickets. The trick...? Allways return to the center platform after tagging the pillar, that way you only have to cross 4 obstacles maximum for the next arrow. By doing this I got 1k tickets in the minimal amount of time possible: 17 hours (1 ticket per minute, 1000 minutes divided by 60 = 16.7 hours) Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)
Taito2004
yeah i know that. how cool would it be though if you were always at the next pillar waiting. :P 92/99 Fishing | 119/120 Combat | 92/99 Firemaking | 94/99 Fletching | 1878/1900 Total | 85/85 Slayer | 80/80 Prayer

Freshwacka
Wilderness Agility Course is much better xp. You can get somewhere around 50k xp an hour, and one guy said it takes 16 hours to get 1000 tickets. 1000 tickets = 365k xp 365k xp at the wild = 7-8 hours Then you get xp from the obstacles at the Agility course. Add on another 2 hours for the wilderness (Just to be generous), and it shows that you can get the same xp at wilderness course in 10 hours than you can in 16.7 hours at Brimhaven Agility Arena. 99 Crafting Blog
llcoolguy972
It probably is a pattern, and it probably does play on a loop, but it's probably a huge loop. It might be thousands of pillar switches before it starts at the beginning again, but you never know. Good luck if you try to figure it out! Dalcyte
na its random. I've gotten 1k tickets there...Sometimes its in one place..the next one over. It'll be in the first place but then in the opposite corner or something. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
Kalliel
There are such things as random number generators... When a certain number is selected, the arrow goes to a certain thing, but no repeats... It's very easily done

Yes, but Dear Lord is the Brimhaven Arena much more interesting and fun :P . Also, don't neglect the experience you get from actually getting past the obstacles, it adds up  . tefda
it's random Wow! Your comment changed the tides of the entire conversation  :P . But to further to our esteemed colleagues statement I would also like to agree with the fact that it's completely random. Firstly why would they make a pattern to it? They generally don't like to give free experience and that's what it would be if people could have a pattern that's 100% correct always. To me thinking about a pattern being run in the Agility Arena is like determining whether or not when a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it fall does it still make a sound (Yes I know it does but it's the principle of it)? If there is a pattern is it still running when no one is there? If not then it throws off the pattern and if so then you'll have a hard time figuring out where you are in the pattern if it's as complex as it should be (If no one out there has noticed a pattern then it's gotta be a long pattern before it loops). Making a loop is harder than making something random. The loop is harder because it's predetermined and forced into something, random allows for anything to happen. An actual pattern is very unlikely as Jagex wouldn't want to do it (as if someone figured it out it'd be far too easy of getting the tickets). As to your research project, I say go for it! If you can earn some free experience and have a fun time with it then go for it! Just remember to use cakes from Ardougne, keep hitpoints low (so you lose less HP), and always check which bride/plank you are crossing before following someone. A couple things I noticed, NOWHERE in the Kbase does it say that the Pillar selection is random  . So who knows, you could be right! Also has anyone else noticed that a lot of people on Karamja are entrepreneurs? It costs money to GET to Karamja, it costs money to get into the Agility Arena, it costs money to get into a Dungeon (Don't we normally get into those for free :? ). Karamja, Island of Robber Barons. Freshwacka
I think it goes by a selected order, but the selected order is so long that the rotation wouldn't be noticed unless you stay there for like 36 straight hours. 99 Crafting Blog

Sure Brimhaven is a lot more fun, but getting 1k tickets is boring as hell. And the xp from crossing obstacles doesn't really add up, last time I got 1k tickets I wrote down my starting xp amount and calculated an hourly xp rate after getting 1k tickets. Say it takes 17 hours to get 1k tickets, you get about 24k xp per hour including xp from crossing obstacles. Now compare that to wilderniss course (45-50k per hour) and ape atol (65k+ with energy pots) and see why I've never been back to Brimhaven. Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)
