BlueLancer
Yep, the guy was amazing... In fact if you don't count the current & improved Montoya, Mika Hakkinen was the only serious opponent of Schumacher, and did snatch victory and world championships from him but he retired too. The other drivers are too mediocre for Schumacher. :) Next season, I bet it will be all about Raikkonen and Montoya since they are the only 'awesome' drivers left. But surprises do happen... Bubsa
Montoya left for NASCAR mate :P Schumi was a great driver, but in my opinion, not a great sportsman. His win at all costs attitude is admirable, but when you take into account all the times he's tried to cheat (and sometimes got away with it, most noteably 1994/5 in the Bennetton Ford in Adelaide), I won't miss him too much. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

michiel2
its about time Yeah, finally. Now I hope that Albers (the only Dutchmen) will get some points soon. (He's always last lol) At least, I think that.

assassin_696
I have to question some of his racing "tactics" now and again, and some people argue that a lot of his success is partly down to his car, but I have to admire him as a phenomenally successful driver. Yeah I agree, Im a huge fan of Schumi. But it was never fun to see when he did some of the stupid stuff he did, alot of it happened when he was young.(no excuse) But I really was annoyed when he parked his car in Monaco. Can't wait untill next race. Was many years ago the championship was so tight :)
Jimmyd17
I agree with what Bubsa said. Sure he was an amazing driver, but his dirty tactics both me and my dad don't like. I do like watching Schumi vs. Villeneuve though. They always seemed to have it in for each other... And personally NASCAR is the way to go. There is more emphasis on the driver rather than the car. With Montoya and Paul Tracy trying to get in I know I'll enjoy the Nextel Cup more, especially with being able to cheer on a different driver than Jr. (Canadian/NASCAR/Tracy ftw? Because we all know IRL is dead...)

assassin_696
I know squat about racing so mind explain how he cheated in a Forumla 1 race? I'm sure there are better examples than this, but at the Monoco Grand Prix Shumacher had pole, but Alonso (I think) was doing a very fast lap which could have given him pole. So Schumacher's car "broke down" (he spun out and blocked the entire road, Monoco is a narrow course) which brought out the safety car and secured his pole. Everyone condemned it though as cheating. If villeneuve had finished i think 4th or higher he would have won the championship while Shumacher would have been 2nd. Fortunatly Shumacher failed. www.PETAkillsanimals.com

Punc
He was a great talent, but also won alot thanks to his car (superiour for a long time to any other cars) and to debateble tactics. He still won 7 championships, something that is absolutly amazing.

I don't know how closely you follow the events, but in 99% of cases like these, the order comes from the management of Ferrari/McLaren/Sauber/etc, it's nearly never a spontaneous decision by the driver. They might do it for a variety of reasons: 1. Ensuring the championship of the other driver 2. Ensuring the maximum amount of manufacturer points 3. If there is a new driver, ensuring his victory increases clout and credibility of the manufacturer
Bubsa
Such said team orders are now actually prohibited under FIA guidelines, ever since that incident. That wasn't a case of Schuey cheating, as it did come from above. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
ikzelf100
Schumacher only won because he drove for the best team because in f1 it isnt how your skills are but how the car off your team is if you drive for ferrarrie youget a good car if youdrive for other team the vcars get worse and worse it is like 90% car performance 10% fdrivers work
Bubsa
People aren't giving the man enough credit. Ferrari did have a period of dominance, but Schumi's first triumph, in the Bennetton Ford - I'd say that was the 3rd or 4th best team in the championship. This is how much you all raised for charity.
