I'm an avid hater of RnB, Rap and Hip Hop and nothing anyone ever says or does will change my mind. I can't see the musical qualities in it whatsoever.

I like Alternative Rock, rock...depends on the music....I can't get into the screaming...but I LOVE guitars.

HipHop...like Bow Wow and Ciara....can't get into the screw...guess cuz I don't smoke. :-X

 

Old school rap, and RnB. Love it.

 

Jazz..Classical...Reggae...even some Spanish music...really depends on my mood.

Indeed! I love some things, I hate others. It's part of who I am. Everyone has different loves and hates! You can't tell me off for that.

 

 

 

I agree MJ was a bit of a legend in his better days! I still like to put a bit of Billie Jean or Thriller on, towards the end of a party when there are beer bottles all over the floor, and everyone's too wasted to remember it in the morning. Guilty pleasures - they'll never know! :D

Even for now, sciense has not been able to solve what makes a person like specific music. So you just can't crush everone elses' musical affections. I could say "techno Su%x!11" but I will not, as SOMEONE likes it anyways.

I could understand if your not a fan of death/black. Some people don't find a bunch of screaming musical. However, than you fail to miss on the power metal and , hell, even the smyphonic metal sound. You than have another completly different sound from Doom metal bands and from thrash. You than have drone, ect. ect.

 

 

 

What i'm getting at is you realy can't just sum up metal with one thing. Also, I must say, I don't know how you couldn't say (out of anything) smyphonic metal doesn't have any musical quality's in it. Than again, I find it hard to belive that you think alt rock has better musical qualitys (i'm not arguing it does or it doesn't) than metal. I don't listen to alt rock (or rap, ect.) but I deffinitly see many different musical qualitys in them. EVERY form of music, has got musical quality in it. You can not ignore or counter that. It is true. That you do not like it is something else. But you CANNOT deny that there is musical quality. People should learn the difference.

I agree. I don't like most of rap, for example, (mostly because I don't and can not relate to their lyrics) but the few things i've seen of tupac have changed my mind about the genre. Plus, I do admire those that freestyle rap :)

overall it dosn't match up. If they play their instruments well they usually don't have lyrics to back it up or vice-versa. on the other hand alt. rock seems to blend the two alot better. But then again this is just a very vague overall reason. Like I previously stated I rarely can listen to more then 10 seconds of metal.

honestly.... i might as well look at alternative rock from your perspective.... how can you like alternative rock? all it is is people who attemept to play guitar, but all they have are one riff, over and over and over..... same riff, but hey, id rather listen to things with alot of difference than something that is the smae riff over and over in a song, and all of the songs sound the same as well.
