Tears of Guthix

No, this is not another "what's your max tears collected"-topic =;

I was wondering about the time you are given in the cave and the addition of new quests. Does anybody know whether there is a maximum period of time which is divided over the quest points, or does the maximum time you can get, go up with every new quest?

In the first case, the time given never goes beyond the restricted period, in the second case, you can get more time as more quests are added. Wouldn't that make ToG a veeery easy way to get xp in a year or two?

Any thoughts?

it isn't easy exp. it is nice exp.

You can to TOG once a week after u get at least 1 qp or 100k exp (if I am not wrong about the 100k exp). and I got 225 qp atm (new quest today yay) and I get about 90-100 points on avarge each time and that only 6k exp (lvl 60+ still get 60exp per point).

So 6k exp a week isn't amazing/easy exp. it is nice to have in low lvls but not really "easy" exp.

Yes yes, I know that and I'm not bashing the minigame. I'm just wondering, does the time increase with every newly added quest? Seeing as Jagex adds new quests all the time, does that mean that in -say a year or two- you have so much time in the cave that you can collect enough tears for a really really great bonus? (Or get dreadfully bored, since you have to spend like 10 minutes there lol)

Or has Jagex foreseen this problem and have they put a limit on the max time already?

i guess jagex will never put and "max time" on it... but if you see what rate new quests come in,( a little over 100 quests on 5 years) i doubt you will ever stay in there for 10 minutes...

(love it, get some xp in farming/construction/runecrafting, as they wary as my worst skill every time :P

I'm guessing that there is already a max time limit as I seem to be getting less time in there every time a new quest comes out, meaning that my quest are staying the same whilst the max is rising, meaning I get a smaller proportion of thew max time in ToG. Although I'm not 100% it makes more sense than allowing 10 mins in there. I think you get about 2mins max, if this thread is still going on Friday/Saturday I will make sure try and confirm this for you. Or if anyone with max qp could find out that would help even more.

I've had max quest points for probably around 2 years. Which includes Tears of Guthix' release. I dunno if I'm just crazy or what but I do feel like I get way more time these days in the cave than when I did at its release. I'm not sure but I think it increases with the more quest points you have, without a limit.

The maximum tear amount is 500. Not sure about the maximum time.

is it even possible to get near that amount ? The max I got was 146 and thats happens only once (after it is only around 120) and usually get around 100 and I always have the max amount of qp.

I was under the impression that your time stayed the same and the max points increased. I'm not sure where that impression came from, though.

It'd be interesting to get some data to try and regress some sort of formula.
