The best way is to buy them in mass on the forums, or camp out in a bank on a world screaming out buying all gems (this way is highly expensive unless u can craft amulets, enchant and sell in mass). The cheaper way would be to powermine a lot, hope for gems, and hope for lots of random events.

Go to a populated world varrock general store and stay there buying them from shops cheap. Lots of people sell cuts and uncuts to shops.

I find mining clay gets me a few.

The only useful things gems do in F2P is make amulets. Once you have one of each F2P amulet (and maybe a couple more of each to spare), you should be set.

 

 

 

Are you looking to raise crafting XP? If so, there are some quicker ways to do that.

IIRC, there is the sapphire respawn in the Giant Spider mound in the deep north central wildy.

 

It's about level 46 way north of the cooking guild.

 

 

 

You could world hop to collect the sapphires

 

but the spiders and PKers could get annoying.

 

 

 

Otherwise, you could look in the Crafting market forum for sellers.

If you're F2p and want to raise Crafting then just ignore the whole Gems side of the game except when you need one or two Enchanted Amulets yourself.

If your Crafting is above 40 then Mine Silver in the Crafting Guild and make Tiaras which are by far the best Crafting Xp for non-members. :

Exactly right.

 

 

 

Gem cutting and crafting amulets do give good exp, but

 

it's hard to get many thousands of gems if you want to raise crafting high.

 

 

 

Better to rasie crafting with Silver, Cow hides, or even Clay.

For exp do cow hides on f2p. As a f2p i started an army and bought hides 40ea (even if they asked for only 5gpea! I felt bad =p) and then resold to a member 70ea (i didn't know about forums back then)

 

 

 

 

 

Not only would i get good exp from hides while i searched for sellers, but profit could be gotten and/or i could spent the profit on buying for myself.

 

(Ex sell 3k hides, make 90k profit, buy 2.1k hides for meself)

 

 

 

 

 

For gems...I'm not sure, f2p isnt really a gem place

Just go to world 1 varrock general store.. I found it was great way to get gems, i was there like 5mins and i was full of gems..

Does the gems shop at falador have any gems ever? I usually visit there if im near by and i've never seen any gems in there -,-

Varrock general store in world 1; people are always dishing them out bye the 10s.
