What do you think the most respected 99 cape will be?

Featured Replies

Farming, go on just look how many people have 99 farming.

Its 54 btw

Farming is a very buyable skill. You just have to have enough money for magic seeds and the like, and it would be just a matter of time. Time spent doing somthing else while they wait for their xp trees to grow. Construction can be done in a very short time if you pour enough money into it, as can runecrafting, prayer, smithing, herblore, crafting... ect. The only two truly difficult and unbuyable skills are theiving and agility, the latter being far more time consuming and boring.

even using runners all the way runecrafting is still much slower xp than most skills

I would have to say a nonmember with a prayer cape would get far more respect than anyone (including Tony Blaire and George Bush :-w ).

Although there should be a cape for the world hide and seek champion...Osama Binladin

I'm going to say a construction cape, just because of the money and time.

Yeah. Those 5 days it took for the first few 99's was definately too long.

Do you have any clue how much time they played each day and how much cash they spent? The people who don't have the huge amount of cash to spend as they do will probably be using oaks. Do you have any idea how long that will take?

Think before you post.

construction becasue thier rich ******* and deserver to be shot :boohoo: muhahahahahaha
After getting 99 con, you can bet that they won't be so rich anymore. ;)

RUNECRAFTING IS THE HARDEST SKILL TO GET TO 99 IN RUNESCAPE.

It takes over 500 hours of runecrafting to get to 91. Not to mention with the new prices of rune ess, it takes over 70 mil. Imagine getting to 99. 1200 hours of crafting, and like 120mil.

By far the hardest skill in the game.

I agree, but no need for huge font.

sorry, lol.

I meant to make it big, not huge... But oh well.

you arent very bright. from lvl 44 on its easy, just have friends or random people run you pure ess in exchange for nats, do it till laws, then switch to either laws or keep doing nats, you could probably do it within days

I'd say you're the one who isn't very bright. First of all, there are not many people who would give you pure essence for nats, when they could do it themselves and get xp for it. Second of all, do you know how many people attempt just even 91 rc (not even 99)? I'd say thousands.. Maybe even hundreds of thousands. And do you know how many people succeed? Very, very few. That makes the number of people who actually continue on to 99 RC even less than the previous number (amount of people who succeed at getting 91).

Even at companies like Fast Free Laws, it's only 30k xp an hour, maybe less. Unless you no-lifed it (RCed literally 24 hours a day), it's impossible to get 99 RC within a few days. It takes weeks, months, years.

I don't see why people keep saying cooking and fletching are easy 99 skills, what if you've cut all the logs and fished all the fish to get 99 in the respective skills, is it still easy then?

Yes. It's pretty well known that the easiest, and most common skills to get 99 in are:

-Cooking

-Fishing

-Fletching

-Woodcutting

And one that's becoming more common by the day, firemaking.

Sure, cutting all the logs, or fishing all the fish as well as fletching/cooking them will take more time.. But they're still the most common and some of the fastest skills to get to 99.

That's where you're wrong. Construction is just about as fast as cooking, assuming you buy planks (even oak) and have a butler. Oak planks, believe it or not, are faster than teak. Sure, Mahogany is faster, but Oak is still very fast. I am currently 93 construction and I used Oak from 76-93. I get 200k xp an hour, which is close, if not the same amount, that you can get from cooking per hour.

Sure, it will take significantly longer if you plank your own logs.. But if you buy Oak planks, it's still very very fast xp.

i would say slayer because it can't be bought and you actually have to try and get it, as opposed to skills like cooking

Well technically you can buy hundreds of thousands of cannonballs to make it much easier/faster. But yes, it still takes time.

not if you hire runners and give the 2x nats plus a bit of cash :-w \' :ohnoes: :uhh: \' :-w

Probably the quest, herblore, and agility.

Herblore maybe? That requires A LOT of work!

I'm with Rcty 8-)

herblore or agility or farming becuase no real "fast" ways and agility the hardest becuase you "can" buy farming and herblore even though even then it takes a looooooong time

If you weren't lucky enough to have rares to trade in for cannonballs, cannoning all tasks is less and less affordable. Anyone trying for 85 much less 99 slayer today without disposable rares for ammo will have a long and hard goal ahead ofthem. Even if they have all the knowledge to efficiently slay them.

Also even if you have money, cannonballs only speed up tasks by 20-30 minutes and in the end no matter what you put in much more effort than many other skills on your way to the 99.

I never said you could :P But having the ability to buy hundreds of thousands of cannonballs to use on the tasks in which you can use a cannon helps significantly. Just take a look at the first people who got 85 slayer, or even 99 slayer. Those people got it pretty quickly, how? Because they used cannonballs.

Now look at the average person who doesn't use cannonballs. It probably takes them anywhere from 1-3 months just to get 85.

Whereas it probably took the people using cannonballs a few weeks (naturally, depending upon how long they played..).

Either way, there is a significant difference :P I'm not saying the skill is totally buyable, but there certainly are ways to increase the amount of xp you get per hour (even if it's just by a couple thousand) with the help of larger amounts of gp to spend.

You guys are definately taking what I said the wrong way... I'm not saying that being able to spend money on cannonballs will get you 99 slayer in a month.. Because I know that's not going to happen.

I'm just trying to throw out the idea that there are minor ways in which large amounts of gp can increase the amount of xp you get per hour. As previously said, the skill is not completely buyable.. It does require a lot of time and effort. But having a lot of gp to buy cannonballs with can definately speed up the process.

No, its just that its always the average statted low levels who run off at the mouth who are trying to claim that our skill is less impressive when they have no idea how much effort went into it.

Other than Zezima, who is a beast, nobody else dared continue on with slayer once they got 85, as the whips were just too profitable. It took almost a year and a half for people to start maxing the skill.

Me personally, and I only cannoned when I could afford it, it took me a LONG time to max the skill.

It definitely isn't buyable as you are letting on.

I wrote the book on it and the only slayer tasks that are overly affected by a cannon is Dagganoths, and Kalphites.

For all my other suggested spots it is just some additional luxury but in the end really doesnt speed anything up to the point where it becomes effortless, or in your words, buyable.

Those that earned it don't really like a low level telling them that they bought their levels.

The more you talk, the more noobs believe you, and the more people will be unimpressed because some eloquent low level said it was a buyable skill on Tip.it.

The only impressive totally buyable skill will be Prayer.

The impressive unbuyables will be Slayer>Agility>Mining.

Any skill cape, even fletching, will be an awesome display and Im glad they are coming out. Instead of sticking your nose up at certain people for whatever reason, appreciate that they put in the time an effort to attain the highest level for whatever skill they display. \'

Ok... I just quoted the things I wanted to comment on...

I totally agree on the top 3 sentenses... I myself am a 99 smith and some weird ppl comment on how I could have gotten the skill in a mere month.

True, it's possible... but, it's not like every high lvl is extremely wealthy and can afford to lvl up with the best material (loosing huge amounts of cash on the way)... there are some who went the slow way like me (iron smithing & smelthing all the way).

ppl always asume that you use the quickest methood possible at the moment, when some might have gotten the lvl years before the x-options were added.

4th sentense: I don't agree with... How about con, smithing and crafting? Those are totally buyable but rather expencive.

5th sentense: what about fishing and wc'ing? Mining is faster than fishing if you powermine / flyfish (at least when I'm training). So wouldn't fishing make more sense? :P

Anyways, all 99 skills are impressive in their own way imo :P

Dead+Dude4.png

Slayer, prayer and herblore are the hardest. You can see that you got 99 melees from your combat lvl, but wearing a skill cape will tell that you are a real master in non-combat skills. :)
