Smithing: Ever noticed you can make woodcutting axes but not pickaxes? What gives? I mean, it's the same material to make the two pieces. :shock:

I've wondered that for a while now... 1.6 years.... :|

I've always wondered that myself, but it's not like pickaxes are pricey or anything.

Maybe you have to buy pickaxes from dwarves because they are special :-$

Well because with today's prices people would buy it from the store. Rune Axes are normally 20k on the street. If a pickaxe was two rune bars, it might be around 40k to make. So it would not be wise for it like that.

I think that this is very unlogical, that you can make axes and not pickaxes. You are absolutly right in that we would be able to do pickaxes! Maybe someone should start a tread about this in the suggestions forum?

I wasn't even aware players couldn't make picks. I ran around getting materials to make a friend a mith pick. Then used the mith bar on the anvil, and.......no pick...I don't see any logical reason why you shouldn't be able to make a pick.

i agree! we need smithing pickaxes!!! =D> it is simply not logical why we don't use wood or planks when we make axes .. i mean.. cmon! you can't smith ahandle from air!

:lol: I remember (at like level 30 or something) losing my pickaxe to a rock golem. I then went to my anvil with my bars, and went mad because there was no pickaxe option. That question has been in my mind ever since...

When smithign was released there was all different metal woodcut axes, but only one type of pickaxe. Only recently have there been metal pickaxes.
