Anesthesia
It had better have support for the co-op (multiplayer vs. bots) mode which BF2 so ridiculously missed out. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
Evilperson
I hate EA. They JUST released updates and add ons for bf2 and they are releasing a WHOLE NEW GAME! God they are greedy. michiel2
EA gets to commercial. Especially the FIFA series... Ok, Battlefield is still cool, but I won't play it. I still like BF1942 more than BF2. At least, I think that.

blade995
It's ok, I think it's just a glorified mod of BF2. There's still a lot of bugs in the game and the conection issues are still present from BF2. I thought they would have learned from their last games to FIX THE DAMN BUGS, but I guess not. The vehicles suck or are too powerful. The engineer kit is decent, but to take out a vehicle you need 4-5 rockets. Don't get me started on the sniper and medic kit. I will not be buying this game till they work out the rest of the issues with it. It will be Quake Wars for me.
deloriagod
I still like BF1942 more than BF2. Of all the BF games I liked 1942 the best. It was the first one I played (on my horrible old machine) and liked it so I bought Vietnam a few months after and couldn't hardly run it on my old machine so I hardly touched the game.. Then I got a nice gaming notebook and it runs well but I don't like it that much. I tried BF2 at a friends house and just didn't care for it.. I guess its a long time ago in a galaxy far away), I'll just stick with battlefront :P Too bad its only 16v16 max Because having 32 players shoved into one area isn't enough? :-k Things like this are why I think gamers are insane. When you go too far with one genre, it becomes another. Case in point...More than 32 people in an FPS is then an RTS. :-# The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! Pete_the_Viscous
It had better have support for the co-op (multiplayer vs. bots) mode which BF2 so ridiculously missed out. Morbo agrees. It was like Tribes3 in that respect. What a silly idea, I think. I think I will probably like BF 2142 more than BF2, just like I liked BF 1942 more than I liked BF2. My reasoning is that BF2 was more... "realistic" than the original, and I think that, while some realism is great, too much makes it the focus of the game (taking my attention away from other things). Just a thought -- not sure if that was why. deviantart account

____
I wasn't going to get 2142 because of what they did to medic and sniper kits. But the spyware / built in ads are just shocking. #16 on the comments says it best... 16. I wasnt going to buy this, now Im not even going to pirate it to test it out to see if I wanted to buy it. Good job EA. I agree with this guy ^
Anesthesia
BF2142 is filled with spyware and adware: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/centipedes ... 207955.php Interview with one of the people who made the spyware/adware: The time that each ad impression takes place is also recorded by IGA, alongside what type of ad content it was (billboard, megaboard, or video stream) Video streamed ads? Tigra00
Wow, that is the shadiest thing I've ever heard of. I mean it's one thing to upload spyware onto your customers computers, but to just flat-out ship it with the game so they HAVE to install it in order to play? Have fun selling your in-game ads, noobs. Noone will see them; noone will be playing! Man, why does marketing have to ruin everything? The internet is ravaged by spyware, and now we won't be able to even play a game soon without getting our personal information jacked. It isn't too hard to know what to sell to GAMERS in a GAME. Nvidia, Radeon, Dell, Alienware, Newegg...These are places gamers buy things from. Gamers do not generally care about a brand new freakin' Dodge Neon. Probably because they'd rather spend $20,000 on a computer and games! The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! Anesthesia
I agree with the guy that darkrick agrees with. Zonorhc
I dislike the game on principle. I mean, they've been trying to get realism and things into the other BF games, and I liked that. Now they're coming out with a wargame that takes mechs on a battlefield seriously?! Jesus, anyone with half a brain and a rudimentary understanding of ergonomics and physics can tell you that a mech is a supremely terrible idea for a realistic military force. All in all, I feel that 2142 is just EA trying to cater for the obscure mech fan demographic more than the gamers it attracts in droves with its current games. Guest r3dh3adkid
EA has put this "Spyware" into alot of your games its just that NOW all kind of people are freaking out. NFS has it in there just ride around and look at all the billboards Posting on behalf of the Dev Team -------------------------------- Greetings, We would like to provide more information on in-game advertising in Battlefield 2142. To try and help everyone better understand it, here is how it works. The in- game advertisement is respectful of players' privacy: it never accesses files not directly related to the game, and it does not capture personal data such as cookies, account login detail, gameplay behaviour or surfing history. As it is an integrated part of Battlefield 2142 and not a separate program, it only runs when the game is running. Because BF2142 delivers ads by region, the IP address of the player is used to determine the region of the player and helps serve ads by region and language; for instance, a player in Paris will be presented with ads in French. Note that this IP address is not stored on the advertisement server and is not repurposed for other uses. A unique ID number is anonymously assigned the first time the player joins a Battlefield 2142 online game. It is stored locally on the PC but is not linked to any personal details. The in-game advertisement gathers what we call ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åimpression data̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà
