ITIessi
I am a very happy guy who only just got members and thought I might get full rune (t). I post on the forums and a guy posts and says add me ingame. SO I add him, logg on, and there he is and he says selling it for 700k. I am like wow! Thats a very good offer... I am soon to find out that I was soooo stupid in doing so! I met him in edgey, thinking that something fishy was going on, because he said that he had to go in 10 seconds due to lag or something, I didn't want to miss out on this offer! I walk towards him through Lvl 1 wilderness, and he just happens to be Lvl 71 (me being 72). He Ice Barrages me whilst ranging me to death, there was nothing I could do, And i lost almost half of my long-time earnt money, which I was looking forwards to spend on Members skills (construction). I have now learnt it is called "Luring". I reported him and I hope he gets banned for life. It really sucks... ~froggy  Returned to Runescape June 2011 after a 3 year break :)
Goonstalf
Wow, that would really stink. Yeah, luring is actually getting a little more popular for some reason, have to be real careful now. :ohnoes: I'm going to milk Goon's teats
zsandmann
Yes it is luring but I don't think it is a reportable offense as he is not scamming you. As long as he didn't do the book trick or some other bug abuse. You took the money in to the wildy freely. Sadly, that means you can lose it. This is why I hardly ever trade in edgeville, but when I do, only inside the bank. That said, I am sorry your lost your money, but don't expect to see him banned for life. Elphinstone
Doesn't mater, if you didn't report him at the incident, then the report won't do anything. Second, it's not an offence. If you go into the wildy then you can expect to die. Simply refuse to trade in the wildy. He did nothing 'wrong' except lying to you, and that's only an offence if he scammed you out of items. Where you go is your choice. Revenga
1. Why did you wait till you got p2p to buy full Rune (T)? 2. Why didn't you even bother to think why he was waiting in level one wilderness to sell something.. It's not that i'm being mean.. but i'd honestly like to know why, because it sounds awfully stupid to be scammed like that in the first place, imho. Sorry about it reguardless, good thing your a member now, you'll be making it back in no time. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i

whizkid338
That happened to me once. The guy lvl 21 or something and he was trading me in the wildy and then he logs and a blasted ancient mage comes from deep wildy and attacks. That really sucks. I never trade with someone who posts on a forum about buying and selling in edgeville, unless I know the person. A general rule, trust no one unless you are absolutely sure you can. AlertMinotar
I am sorry about your lost... Usually when an offer is too good it's cause there's something else behind it. The good side of it is that you 'only' got scammed for 700k, you'll soon as a member have way more money and will be buying cooler stuff :) Good luck! gtacrackhead
Second time this has happened to someone. I guess more topics like these will give more awareness to people who are reading this, because I've learned not to do big trades near edge... Idarodo
Never, _EVER_ go to wilderness for trading. Or, and when you are sure it's a lure, just put your money to bank and let them kill you, will surely get them pissed off. You can't report now tho I think, put always fun to scam scammers  6,521th to 99 woodcutting | Fletching 98/99 | Idarodo | Combat 90 | Total 1565+ | 38m+ total exp Retired.
