Crafting Guild

Featured Replies

I am not a dedicated crafter, but I do use the crafting guild often. There are few problems with the crafting guild. Not game-wrecking things, but little things that diminish the importance of it greatly. Here they are:

1. Bank: Every other f2p guild that would have any need for a bank (Mining, etc.) is fairly close to a bank. Going to the Fally bank and back is a pain each time I fill up my inventory. I think if we put in a bank deposit box in there (you know, those useless-seeming things in the corner of a bank?). It would help greatly, and would make the Crafting Guild a much more important spot, instead of an out-of-the-way mine.

2. Sheep: Wool is a quick fix to get a few crafting exp. points. But there are no sheep in the Crafting Guild. A few sheep alongside the cows would be very helpful.

3. Spinning wheel: In addition to the sheep, a spinning wheel would be greatly helpful. It could be put in the middle of the chairs in the circular part of the first floor.

None of these things are gravely important, but they would make the Crafting Guild a much more important place for crafters. :( :(

Oh, come on! What's wrong with an Uzi-wielding goblin?

you should add a furnace there too incase people moight want to make gold bars and/or silver bars.

there is sheep next to the make over mage house and a spinning wheel on the second floor

a bank, possibly, but it still seems like the suggestions would make things waaayyy too easy to level. definitely no furnace there.

a deposit box would let the gold prices drop way too low, maybe 30-50 each?

ya it would but you just need to go a bit north go under the wall to the bank it isnt that hard is it?

Who cares if you can have 520M, if you have no friends, as well as no reason to play Runescape?

First of all, I'd just like to say that not that many people go to the crafting guild. It's probably one of the least used guilds...Although it might be because it lacks some of the stuff you say.

Bank- If you can take the time to run airs, you SHOULD be able to take the time to run from the guild to one of Falador's banks.

Sheep- Like mentioned, there are some near the Make-Over Mage's house.

Spinning Wheel- There's one in Falador, near the chainmail shop. Someone said that there's one upstairs, but I'm too lazy to check. I know, I'm really lazy...

yea, i mean its tough to do, with gold ore and silver ore beign there, a bank would be difficult to make cause it'd be to easy. Crafting guild is overall good for making hides quickly imo.

Maybe move the Fally bank a few squares south? 8-)

A bank would make smithing too easy (goldsmithing gauntlets) and gold prices would drop like a rock. I have to admit crafting leaves something to be desired in the crafting guild but i have little problem walking to fally bank to deposit gold.

If at first you dont suceed, then you fail.

we should still have a furnace there to smith bars at least......... :x

the reason there isn't a furnace is that it would make training crafting too easy once you can use the crafting guild

lol are u serious? iron isnt even that low and theres tons of iron rocks which respawn in like 1 second, in the crafting guild theres 5 gold rocks (?) and they respawn slow :-$

If they add a store there that would be pretty good :-k

There's seven, actually. There's 5 or 6 silver rocks, maybe that's what you were thinking about.

Why is it, whenever someone makes a suggestion, someone always argues "it would lower the price"? Screw the price; most suggestions aren't about making money, they're about making EXP. As a frequent user of the Crafting Guild, I agree that it is pretty out of the way, which does have too much of an impact on training. Adding a bank box would be good, as it wouldn't significantly impact the number of gold ores or bars entering the game, given the slow respawn rate of gold ores and the number of people who usually mine gold in the guild. Besides, we'd still have to go to Falador/Al Kharid to smelt the gold into bars and jewelry, so there wouldn't be that much of a jump in levelling.

I do agree that adding a furnace would be overkill, though, especially with a bank box. Even without a bank box, though, levelling Crafting would be way too easy, what with the availability of crafting moulds in the guild. It's already insanely easy to make pottery in the guild; bring some buckets, mine some clay, soften, throw on the wheels, fire them in the kiln, drop, and repeat. If this were also available for the jewelry items, there'd be thousands of 99 Crafters in a week. Well, assuming they could find enough ores...

And, yes, there are something like ten or eleven sheep just north of the guild.

Sheep north near Makeover Mage, as people have said. A Bank Deposit Box I think is mainly for people who lost or are changing their PIN, so yeah... and it makes it too easy. A furnace may be nice, but it means you could just craft there and never have to leave the Guild: if it is to be implemented, I suggest that the level requirement of the Crafting Guild to be raised to 60+.

Some people said the Crafting Guild is the "least used Guild". I do not think so... it has a plentiful supply of gold and silver, and it is much more used than the Cook's and Champion's Guild...

Actually, the exact words were "one of the least used", meaning there are others that are used even less often; Cooking and Champions guilds like you said. But, if you were to poll guild members why they dont go to them, you'd most likely find its because they're either ill-equipped for the skill or inconveniently located. The cooking guild doesn't have anything that you either can't get elsewhere or can't live without, and the really the only thing to do in Champions is buy stuff; sure, there're some chickens to "train" on, but it's likely that if you're in the Champions Guild, killing a bunch of chickens isnt even a warm-up.

The same holds basically true for the Crafting Guild; sure, it's well stocked with almost everything you need to craft, but it is awfully far from any bank; heck, even the Mining Guild is only a few paces from a bank, and that guild probably generates more gp per player than anything you can do with crafting. So, maybe putting a bank box in the crafting guild isnt a good idea, granted, but maybe moving it a little closer to Falador - or maybe putting a gate closer to the Guild, would make it a little more useful. Maybe a gate next to the chainmail store. And, before anyone brings up the Agility shortcut, I know it's right there, but free players can't use it, and members really don't need to as there are plenty of alternatives to train crafting for members, and none of them include the guild.

It is a pain to mine at the crafting guild but if there a deposit box or something the price of gold and silver or would drop and it would be even lower then the price of iron lol.
