I was looking up defintions for moron online and I came up with some surprising results.

A person having the mental age of 8 to 12 years *who is capable of doing routine work under supervision. [eg Foolish]

www.greaterthings.com/Word-Number/AreaCodes/801_Mormons/Mormon_English.htm

Moron:*Originally a scientific term, coined by psychologist Henry Goddard from a Greek word meaning "foolish", and used to describe a person with a genetically determined mental age between 8 and 12 on the Binet scale. It was also once applied to people with an IQ of 51-70 and was a step up from "imbecile" (IQ of 26-50) and two steps up from "idiot" (IQ of 0-25). ...

So when I call my 12 year old sister a moron its true, she truely is a moron.

What did you think moron ment? I thought it was just a word people used because they were to stupid to say anything intellectual.

Can you think of any other misunderstood words?

Crap.

The person who invented the portapody last name was Crapper. So people eventually started saying they are going to the crapper(slang named after it's inventor).

That isn't true - the word crap had been in circulation since long before he was born.

Wikipedia page on Thomas Crapper":3qbz6tpu]Despite urban legend, Crapper did not invent the flush toilet (the myth being helped by the surname). However, Crapper put in much effort to popularise it and did come up with some related inventions. He was noted for the quality of his products and received several Royal Warrants. The noun "crap" was in use long before he was born.

Wikipedia page on crap":3qbz6tpu]The word "crap" is old in the English language, one of a group of nouns applied to discarded cast offs, like "residue from renderings" (1490s) or in Shropshire, "dregs of beer or ale", meanings probably extended from Middle English crappe "chaff, or grain that has been trodden underfoot in a barn" (c. 1440), deriving ultimately from Late Latin crappa, "chaff".

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Nerd and geek. They're usually used as insults now, but they mean someone smart. So it's a nice insult. :)

(Why were you looking up definitions of moron in the first place? Just curious...)

Btw, in case you didn't realize, the definition you gave of "moron" is something of an attempting-to-be-precise explanation of someone who is mentally challenged. So, while according to that dictionary's definition, your sister might be a "moron," the actual origins of the word don't point to that meaning at all.

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

Lol, Persia isn't a country. Neither are Latin or Africa like Bush sometimes likes to think. But the place is indeed in Mongolia and it's spelled "MÃÆÃâÃâörÃÆÃâÃâön". In Spain they also have a town called "MorÃÆÃâÃâón", and Moron is also guy in the book of Mormon. Also many morons post on forums.

This is an image from the M̮̦̉̉r̮̦̉̉n airport (click to enlarge), and you can hopefully make your own decision about it. A walmart in North Dakota is probably 20 times larger. It's not exactly the capital, which by the way is Ulan Bator (Ulanbataar). This town has just some 30k inhabitants but is the biggest place in the north of their country.

You just made me feel like the internet is truly full of useless garbage...
