nacfan Posted October 18, 2006 Share Posted October 18, 2006 since today the skill capes are in the game, but only for membs only :( i am a pure f2p, and ive been working very hard to get as close as possible to 99 cooking but the capes are not for non membs :shame: i really think these should be for memb and no memb, there are f2p people who have to work very hard to, maybe harder then members for a skill 99. I just cooked 20k lobs to get to 99 (now 93) but found out they are member only, so just wasted time and money on something i cant use for anything! and that all because jagex never told they would be member only so i think they should be for memb and non memb so the non members will be rewarded to for a skill 99 this is my opinion, please if u post and dont agree with me, plz post why u dont :) ^click to visit my blog! With that comes having to have offices. Maybe even globally i.e. a central office, a couple sister offices in other countries. Employees such as graphic artists, coders, secretaries, janitors, accountants, tech support, etc. They also need computers to do all the work, internal networks for billing, servers to run it, upgrades to handle the growing rs community. Then there are bills for electric, water, gas, property tax, insurance for the employees not to mention all the salaries for every individual that works for them right down to the guy changing the trash in the men's room. If they give f2p all the bells and whistles they give members then who would get a members account? Alot less people would join. Alot less members=alot less income. Stuff like this is incentive for you to pay the 5 bucks and get yourself a members account. How hard is it to make 5 bucks a month? In the states where I'm from you could mow a lawn for 20 bucks in one day and there's 4 months of members rs. That's just an example. Yes I agree that it's frustrating when they leave out the f2p world but rs is a business not a charity. The fact you can have a free account with ZERO time limit is very generous of them. They could be like "Thanks for playing the free demo (6 months later) either join or create a new account". I may be wrong but doesn't WOW have a certain amount of free time then you HAVE to pay cause if you don't you pretty bought their software in the store for nothing. It could possibly be the extra amount of work they might have had to have put into it to separate the members skills from the non-members skills etc. Might not have been worth the extra coding and time. I think its less work then how its now so all masters are on own part of runescape. If they just make a house with different rooms and every room is decorated with things of its own skill.. and for quest cape its decorated with some items of quest (example: demon slayer, a demon head is on the wall, or shield of arrav a copy of the shield is on the wall) those are only f2p examples, because i dont really know the quests from members so i think it would be great if jagex would make something like this ^click to visit my blog! jwrm22 Posted October 18, 2006 Share Posted October 18, 2006 on the official forumn they all have spam like: members need extra things, blablabla, we pay for it... f2p is a demo etc... get member = get your cape etc... jagex is clever cuz now more ppl will get member... then i would replay: why would i get member for just the cape? and then... in just 1serc (getting member sec) all my states will be worthless, and all time i spand on f2p would be lost time... very mutych lost time i think even more then 50%... all skills a f2per can train are mutch harder in f2p then p2p... every skill is far underpowered accept mage and firemaking... but what to do with 99 mage or 99 fm... ya, pking and buring logs... nothing special... and the f2p servers got adds, they c ould near give us all free member... Is it because they work harder than members, whom u expected will b better then non-mems? I dont see what harm there is giving a little benifit to faithful f2pers who sacrifice time and effort into getting a lvl 99 in one skill. F2pers who work harder than some members... Whenrunescape started out, they were all f2p. Now they've made it so you either get tired and quit or become a member. The runescape I remember from the old days(when it very first came out) was a happy runescape. When members came out, freeplayers still had a good time. Now it seems Jagex is dissing f2p by not giving them something that they should have. I dare say it is even possible that a p2p holiday item may be in store in a few holidays. So basicly, members are saying they are paying for experience... And it's true. We, f2p's, have it pretty much a lot harder to gain experience. Wa both needed the same exp for a 99-stat. So why don't f2p's disurve it to get such a cape? And like Jwrm22 said: Having to pay for a 99-cape? The 99-cape of an F2P-stat! The 99-stat wich experience is completely earned on an f2p-account? To that, I say: NO! We work, we have fun, and we make sure the Adds do their work (hey, they are their for a reason). 99-Cape should be F2P cape aswell! This is my tought about it! Stallion4589 Posted October 20, 2006 Share Posted October 20, 2006 dont think of this as an update. think of it as a reward for those who have reached 99 in a skill. if you think about it like this, then of course f2p deserve these capes. in no way is a p2per with a 99 skill more deserving that a f2p with a 99 skill. they are equal. the effort put in is the same (if not more by the f2per). i believe that f2p should be given these capes. the POH room and the capes are seperate, so those that use that argument really dont have one.
