Besides, give me one GOOD reason why JAGeX should do this for you guys, apart from the fact they just ripped your heart out with their cruel act of dangling the meat in front of your nose and then snatch it away. If you have done anything for JAGeX in return (and DON'T say advertisement or promote game popularity...), please. I would love to know. By the way, I am F2P. Somehow I always find it necessary to state that, or else get overwhelmed by a mob of angry F2Pers. Why do you resist? Whenrunescape started out, they were all f2p. Now they've made it so you either get tired and quit or become a member. The runescape I remember from the old days(when it very first came out) was a happy runescape. When members came out, freeplayers still had a good time. Now it seems Jagex is dissing f2p by not giving them something that they should have. I dare say it is even possible that a p2p holiday item may be in store in a few holidays. Jagex has been inserting a wedge for some time, I should know. But you want to know what's really causing the wedge? All those who make accounts and won't play the game right. Those who aren't playing the game right are breaking at least rule #7, "No Macroing"... They don't care that they are stealing from both F2P and P2P by letting their bots play for them, and until they are all gone, Jagex is going to continue to cut off more F2P stuff in an attempt to combat them. Long and short, Macroers/Bot-users must die... And btw, I'm an F2P. I have to live alongside these evil punks daily. I hate what they are doing, yet I don't have the $5/month to get members due to my situation. I don't quit RuneScape for at least 3 reasons: 1.) I put time into my alter-ego, and I've grown kinda attached; 2.) I've got friends I only know by way of the game; 3.) RuneScape is the only thing keeping me sane anymore (I probably would not be typing this right now if I'd lost my mind)... 'Nuff said from me. No flames, please. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... It's not like some other update that makes thing easier or anything... it's recognition for a great achievement. Anyways, like I say... it's just not right... Ps: I notice 60-70% of people who disagree with cape becoming non member on the runescape forums dont even yet have a 99 stat and therefore do not know how difficult it may be to reach 99 in ANYTHING. My question to them is, why do you even care? it doesnt affect you. E_D_G_E_1039 Posted October 22, 2006 Share Posted October 22, 2006 I just cooked 20k lobs to get to 99 (now 93) but found out they are member only, so just wasted time and money on something i cant use for anything! and that all because jagex never told they would be member only I'm sorry? I don't remember Jagex stating that they would be for free players. When a new quest is announced, you don't need Jagex to say it'll be members only. Why is this update any different? I was certain that Jagex would allow f2p players to get the capes for f2p skills. They give out the capes to members for reaching level 99 in a skill.. What about all of the f2p players that reach 99? Don't they deserve a reward? Most skills are, after all, f2p. It would be an easier way for pay to play people to get money for the things they want and free to play people would be a bit more content. But, since I'm a non member, I'll insert my own argument, lol. Highest exp gain for certain item/Lvl obtained/Exp gained F2P Vs. P2P Cooking: Anchovy Pizza/55/182 Vs. Summer Pie/95/260 Firemaking:Yew/60/202.5 Vs. Pyred Magic/80/404.5 Crafting:Cut+Craft Diamond Ammy/70/207.5 Vs. B. D.Hide Body/84/258 Fishing:Swordfish/50/100 Vs. Monkfish/62/120 Magic:Fire Blast/59/50.5 Vs. Charge/80/180 Runecrafting:Body Tiara/1/37.5 Vs. Death Tiara/1/50 Woodcutting:Yew Tree/60/175 Vs. Magic Tree/75/250 *Note that there are many other things that members can do after reaching the free to play limit. As for Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranging, Hitpoints, Prayer, Smithing, and Mining, members have a wider variety of monsters to fight, as well as more mining rocks and monsters to kill for a variety of bones. So, as you can see, members have a MUCH easier time gaining levels, not to mention the numerous quests to get you EXTRA experience points. For those of you that say "You dont have any lvl 99 skills, so this doesn't concern you n00b!", I'm fighting for me and my friend, because he was all ready to get lvl 99 mining and so was I, but when the update came out, we were really dissapointed, but hes still going for it. However, I've kinda lost intrest in getting lvl 99 in anything, and I'm sure many others have also. If there is anything wrong with my argument, tell me please. I don't want to argue something with false facts. It's because most of us: - cannot afford paying for the game - have caring parents who say stop to excessive gaming - were born into a poor family - do not live in a country where games can b paid in many methods - do not have a credit card - have parents who do not have credit cards - cannot use most of the paying methods except for paying by credit card Basically, what jagex is saying is this," Pay or dont pay, the choice is urs, Play or dont play, the choice is mine". U think this is fair? Fair not to have a few more slots in bank? Fair not to have a skill cape when one worked harder than many p2ps for it? I think not.
