Anti-scam guide by using inventory space: (guide by Grimgor_6x3)

You always being scammed when buying magic logs, runes, weapons or armour?

The time has come to change that.

Let̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s say you want to buy 10k magic logs and you see a seller selling 3k magic logs.

You get enough money from your bank but not the amount needed but a little bit more.

So if you want to buy 10k magic logs at 1k gp each, then get 11 million gp from your bank and not 10 million gp. Second you need 1 magic log (in a noted form).

Last but not least necessary is to fill up your bank with un-noted items, lets say 26 un-noted bowstrings.

Now you trade the person selling the 3k magic logs. He will offer 3k magic logs and you give 3 million gp. Sometimes the person selling changes the 3k mage logs into 3k willows. Willow logs are worth 30 gp each and a mage logs is 1000 gp each so it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a big difference. Also do magic logs and willow logs almost look the same. But if you didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t notice the change from magic logs to willow logs and you also don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see it on the second trading screen and you both have accepted the trade then the trade will not work because you can only take noted mage logs and not willow logs in your inventory. If the trade is correct it will work correctly and you got some new mage logs to cut.

Example of inventory:

antiscam_guide.jpg

Fl3tch3r 4 lyf3

99 fl3tch1ng

60+ 4ll sk1lls (43 hunt atm but going to 60)

1570+ total

85/94 m4g3, im getting there sooner or later.

This isnt your guide, you just stole the Mod's post from Herblore section on runescape forum and changed to magic log.

Its a bit different and so what? Its a great guide and it could save many people from being scammed.

Yeah, but he took the credit for something he didnt do at all, just changed.

Should we credit only the original idea or... the original application too?

I reckon both.

From my side, I've never heard of this before, should I it'd saved me a lot.

He plagiarized. He took work without giving credit to the original person who made it. I don't know why you think it is fine to do that.

And why can't you just check second screen, works just as good, less time and better.

"Stealing idea from herblore section"

I don't know about you guys, but I've used this in rsc, when gasheart taught me. (Back then it was the same, except certificates took the place of notes) There is simply no way, that the guy who posted the thing in herblore section was the first one to use this.

The guy in herblore section wasn't the first one to figure it out, so all you people yelling about plaguerising, please do tell us who should he be giving credit to.

He created a nice guide and that's it.

Ok, sure, right after you explain this to me :

Hello herbalists of Runescape,

It has come to the modding community's attention that many users have been buying and selling unidentified herbs. While this is fine, we have made this sticky to help prevent some of the newer herbalists from being scammed from their hard earned money by people who say they're selling a certain unidentified herb, when its really something else.

The top herblore users have a commonly used technique to make sure that they don't get scammed this way. This is known on the street as the "anti-scam technique".

To do this, you need 2 unids of every herb. Put them in your bank and withdraw one of each (make sure you keep them in the same order as the other banked one). Then, identify the ones you can (keeping them in the same order). With the ones that you don't have the herblore level to identify, use the services of Zahur in Nardah (city in desert).

Then, when it comes time to trade, fill your inventory with your noted unidentified herbs (the one of the two you didn't identify) and the rest other items until your inventory is full. Then, trade and if you can't trade, that person is trying to scam you.

Here is an example:

I got 2 of every unidentified herb there is. I identified all of the ones I could, then for the rest, I went to Nardah to identify them.

After this, I started buying unidentified herbs above ranarr weed because I wanted the identification experience. I filled my inventory with noted herbs above ranarr.

The rest I filled with rope, runes, and other miscellanious items that have nothing to do with herblore. I also made sure I put more than enough money so an extra space isn't created for herbs like guam leaves or marentill.

Then, when I went to trade the seller, I offered the right amount of money, and they offered their herbs. When we both clicked accept, it said that I didn't have enough inventory space to take their items. I knew they were trying to scam me, and didn't trade with them in the end.

ALTERNATE ENDING:

When I traded the person, everything was normal and I got the unidentified herbs on top of what was in my inventory.

---

I hope this helps you, and avoids some people being scammed.

Thanks for reading this, and happy herblore!

YEY I CAN BE FAMOUS!" and then "wrote" it but instead with he's own screenshots so everyone can see money he got. (no i was not serious in the end)

Yes, you may. No I'm not [developmentally delayed]

He put some effort in it. That would still mean he should give credit. Oh! Look, he doesn't have to, because the guide he made is in no way Ba Ba Blue's! (Made the screenshot, not in Ba Ba Blue's guide, wrote with his own words, not just copy and paste.)

The only reason he would have to give credit for him, is if he learned it from that post and wants to add Ba Ba Blue's name.

No offence, but he doesn't have to.
