m4tty
what i hate is when people ask pmods to add them just so they can brag they have a "mod friend", and the thing i hate the most is when people think just because someone is a pmod they will warn their friends for saying the word "noob" and stuff, i saw a guy in f2p calling a pmod a bad mod for not warning his friend, for calling the guy a noob for running in the wild. then he said about how pmods "job" is to "mute, report and warn players", that really annoys me, expecting him to say "watch what u say" or something to his friend (even though "noob" isnt reportable). but the guy was the typical, run out of the wild talking trash then out of the wild go from how they would own them if the situation was different, how it was so unfair etc then to the "omg reported" stage. the pmod just said "heh, you know nothing. enjoy a space on my ignore list." then the guy followed him around saying how he "knew alot of things" and stuff like that, was kinda funny tbh. Jard_Y_Dooku
They are regular players with some uncontrollable advantages. Such as ... Hmm who should I trade? The normal player or that Player Mod offering the same price? Player Mods chat is seen even on 'off, friends, or hide'. They also have disadvantages like being consistently asked questions about the game and the crown etc. I think the pros and cons are about even. Whoever I have to walk to shortest amount of distance to get to. Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler. baalboy5
they are a normal player just making sure no 1 is scamming althou somtimes i think the get away with selling stuff for more expensive or buying cheaper cause they'er mods :? otherwise they do a great job : Not all the time one was abusing his privlage I heared one mod when I turned off public chat he was saying player mutes 12kea. :?: Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob. People in OT eat glass when they are bored.
Dormado
player moderators are here to make sure that we don't find our the truth. They are here to make sure that no one finds secret JaGeX lab. They also uses strange devices which can teleport them whereever they go. Now i have to run again because i have just revealed part of the truth about them... The ways of JaGeX are unknown..... saam007
Do you see them as tools of the system or average players who want to "help?" they nothing more then average players. there are few great players that love to help and know what they talking about. there are few low lvls (like 60-70) that they got like 10-20% exp then I do and don't know anything about this game. but most players are just "lucky" avarge players that got "lucky" and wanted the power. marlin85
I always thought Jagex hated pures but yesterday saw a p mod called zezz1me, called him a noob for obvious reasons and am now awaiting a mute or ban lol :) (didn't know he was a mod) I would imagine he gets called it alot though :P There are so many things wrong with that post... One- You can't get banned for calling someon a noob... Two- You called him a noob because of his name? Big whoop... Who cares if he wants to be like Zezima, technically everyone does (The 99 all skill part.) And by calling him a noob that makes you the noob  Oh yes you can, and it has happened before :) It's one thing wanting to be like a player, it's another to call yourself it, oh and yeah I don't mind being called a noob :) Wow.. you obviously don't know much about runescape if you think people get banned for calling others noobs LOL. if jagex would ban u for calling some1 a noob probably half of rs population would be banned lol

I think as many other do most are avarge players than some are tools. Not many but some. I also think that the pros outwiegh the cons and having mod status is good. I never been a mod so i can speak form experence. I will shoot down any one with my bitting wit, and sarcasm! What POSSIBLE reason would someone have to make a fake like that?Does he profit from faking a picture like that? Does it help him at all?Jesus Christ, stop being so suspicious. This is Tip.it for God's sake, not RuneHQ. -_-
donydart
But what bothers me that much is the fact that some people change after recieving that silver crown before their name. They suddenly have another attitude, feel themselves better than others etc. I, and many others, think it would be better that JAGeX removes the crown in front of the player mods their name. Not only the people who only do it for the silver crown in front of their name won't wanna be it anymore, but also rule breakers will get caught more easily because they cannot quickly stop their illegal actions when seeing a player mod talking on chat. While some may seem to change attitude when they get the crown the crown being there by there name acts as deterrent to people breaking the rules. When a mod speaks in a bank everyone can see crown and scammers will have to think twice before scamming for example.

Rebdragon
For anyone with an IQ over 100 they are normal, average, "nothing special" people, who are just as important as anyone else- the only difference is there is a much higher tendency for mod's to be mature over a regular player. For everyone else, they are objects to be worshipped and sucked-up to in order to get favor with Jagex or something ludicrous of the sort.... Alg
the most important aspect of a player mod is that the majority of them are mature and honest...the rest are the causes of hate of the silver crown the people who want to be mods have likely heard rumors and lies (ex: mods get paid, get free p hats, are rich...lies) not even all mods are high levels, i've seen a few mods with very low combat it's also impossible for a mod to mute you for saying 'noob' I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr

BlackKingX
I'm not a report crazy player mod. And I try to help, but frankly I'm tired of helping. I don't feel like being a tool as I only report what I see when it comes by me. I don't go hunting for it so for that reason I'm not a tool. On the other hand I'm not really an average player that wants to "help." Helping people with reports or other issues I'm glad to do as those are simple, but explaining every aspect of the game is tiresome. So I just see my self as an average player that's just an average player. (The truth is sometimes I actually forget I'm a player mod because I usually only talk on private chat and only answer in public when I'm directed out exactly). ~allmonkey p.s. this doesn't seem the least bit readible to me (and btw I can't spell). what you said pretty much covers it. im a payer mod as well, but i dont go out looking for trouble to deal with. i see myself as a normal player first, and a player mod second. i have the right to be a normal player and not help everyone that asks me the direction to varrock. i can use my discretion to help and report who i want. and to those that want to be a pmod: the crown isnt all its cracked up to be. its often a source of more problems than solutions. most veteran mods will tell you this (especially f2p mods). I don't help anyone, to set an example that we don't have to help people. :P

ronnyuk
I did say earlier that Jagex have banned/black marked people for saying certain words "noob" etc. The problem I see is, Jagex does not set out what is acceptable and what is not, someone was given a temp weeks ban for saying "dang" recently, The whole logic behind player MOD's is on reporting people, the better you are at reporting people the more chance you have of becoming a PMOD, now this is dangerous ground as is now being shown all over the forums, as people are getting banned/repromanded for silly things that most people accept as every day chit chat. Even the JMODs do not know what is acceptable and what is not so how the hell is a 13 yr old kid who can click an abuse button every time he see's a suspect word. The game is 12+ according to Jagex, which is not even a ESRB clasification, I would say it falls between E10+ and TEEN which both can contain mild language, I dont want to see people running around shouting sexual swearwords out but I do not mind people swearing when they do somthing wrong, as long as the words are not directed at someone personally. Jagex needs to get the game properly classified so everyone knows the limits, and they can also give the customer service team at Jagex HQ some proper on training on what is acceptable and what is not. Itsjustagame
You either support scammers and cheaters, or you support Player Moderators. There is no middle ground. If you hate player moderators YOU are a bad person. clearly you lack common sense. Just because I dislike people who think they're better than everyone else doesn't mean I wish destruction and turmoil. That's like saying I either support the war on terrorism, or im a terrorist. I know a few p mods, who I wont name, who are just scum. They've scammed, lied, used programs, etc. Half of them try to pk, and flame you, but if you flame back, UH OH, temp mute! I was banned for a week one time because I killed a player mod, and when he flammed me, I flammed back. Yeah, that's fair. There are good ones, but I dont see the point of giving players power. Half them abuse it.
