henk333
Using prayer potions usually pays itself back because of the enormous amount of herbs they drop. I use 6-8 doses of prayer potion (not tested proselyte yet) for a ull load of herbs, which almost allways includes 4 ranars. Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)

Dork
Here's my inv set up: And I always finish with more ranarrs than prayer pots i've used. Could also wear prayer book instead of defender if you want even more pray bonus, but this gives +20. :) Sig And Avatar by Tripsis - 99 Slayer Blog - My Pyramid Plunder GuideOwner of Fire Cape since 28-09-2005 - 426th to 99 Strength

Adamfostas
I recommend replacing the Glory with a Zammy symbol, for the additional +5 prayer. You lose a small amount of attack, but you'll be able to get more hits in per prayer point, so it becomes irrelevant. henk333
monk robes whip defender wealth, no pots and food needed ;) Just watching that vid irritates me :? I'd rather pray the entire time and end up with as much ranars as I used p pots then constantly clicking the prayer icon. Might be just me though... meb
I melee them in prayer-boosting gear. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Umega
I melee them in prayer-boosting gear. Same. Guthix book, pros armour, rune boots, barrow gloves, whip, fury, RoL. And of course 6 (4) dosed prayer potions. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
rft
actually I have a different setup to the ones listed above. I melee them in black dhide, and have a pile of runes for bones to peaches - I just head down to the crawling hands on the ground floor - to get my health back. I drop all my herbs that are harralanders and below. Best Barrows Chest: guth skirt, dh helm, dh axe, racks, gp (23/08/06); best tt reward: robin, guthix helm, guthix legs, nats, rune legs

Adamfostas
You really shouldn't. The best (and only) amulet you should use on aberrant specters is a salve amulet. Of course, they're undead, aren't they? Silly me. I stand corrected. koddo1
Wow, I gotta start killing these things again, I had no idea a Salve Amulet would work on them. Well first...I guess I need a salve amulet. Hmm. But yeah, I use the same outfit and setup as the others. It works quite nicely.

FastForce
Use proselyte top and bottom, whip, rune boots, dark gloves, salve ammy, rune defender, zerker ring, fire cape, nose peg. I usually use 2 pray pots a trip and I kill around 60 a trip. Have to bank the herbs often :D Road To Trimmed Completionist
Umega
Wow, I should try salve amulet next time then. I really didn't know that. Hope I can do some 33s on them. \ No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
Kariga
I melee in proselyte ( improved initiate with bigger pray bonus)Salve amulet, defender (for speed, prayer book gives less attack bonus and i have pray pots to use) Nosepeg, fire cape, rune boots etc.( i prefer a wealth over a berserker) Only diffrence is i take dragon battleaxe and 2 attack pots and 6 prayer potions. I can't be bothered to to in the middle of the task to get more prayer pots and 6 prayer pots last for about 180 spectres for me. I usually end up with a rune helm, lava battle and all rest inv spots ranarr though =/ 6221st to 85 Slayer. ( Yippee)
normanbiggs
Thanks for all your answers, interesting to see what works for people and also good that people now know about teh salve ammy lol
Gugge
Similar as others: Melee with prayer bonus. Whip, salve ammy, dark gloves, zammy book for me. Zammy book has offensive stats in addition to prayer bonus, so that is the book I always use when fighting NPC's on protection prayers. (Saradomin book is my choice when walking into wildy on treasure trails etc. Guthix book I use if I for one reason or another lost zammy or sara book and cant be bothered to walk to lighthouse to get them back :P ) Pots (other than prayer): I usually bring a 3-dose of each ss and sa pots, to kill the specters quicker. Quick kill=less prayer used per spectre=more kills per prayer pot. I keep ranarr and up herbs, but someone who want to level herblore may want to keep harr and tarr as well. If you plan many bank trips (=plan to keep many herbs), its eventually better to simply drink a dose of each sa and ss at bank. Normal str and att, or the new combat pot is of course an alternative. The normal pots can be bought cheap at warriors guild if you dont have them. Then there are the weight to take into consideration. How many specters do you plan to kill, how much of the drops do you plan to keep: in short, do you plan to do frequent bank trips? Proselyte and rune boots = more prayer bonus + strenght from the boots. Good if you plan to stay long. Monk robes and boots of lightness = makes you lighter so you can run longer, and thereby make banktrips quicker. May be a better alternative if you plan to keep most herbs they drop. I tried wearing black hides and use bones to peaches. I personlly didnt like it, wearing stuff for prayer bonus and using prayer pots suit me better. On the other hand, I *do* have a good stock of all pots in bank... not everyone has that. Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)
Pionex40
Black hides, Whip, Sara book, Wizard boots, Charged Glory, God Cape.. basically max mage def and 10-13 lobs a trip. I can usually do a 180+ task in 3-4 trips depending on if there is someone there dropping alot of good stuff on the floor. I bank in Edgy and return with Fairy rings. You only get one chance to live your life....But, endless opportunities to screw it up.
