hellbellz
I used to.. "Hit 999 to buy yews!!11" It's just easier to say your name, instead of seeing who said it. Like "Selling yews!!!! Jesselitton".. I should know

Made0f12une
you couldnt stand on other persons their spots (well if you didnt knew how to do it anyways) and in rs2 you can stand on other persons their spot so that why they state their name rather then the numbers ( i did always used 555 ;) ) Haha didnt everyone? 555 was the bomb :) ^^ClicK^^"I backed my car into a cop car the other dayWell he just drove off sometimes life's ok...Alright already we'll all float onAlright don't worry we'll all float on" - Isaac BrockDays Hunting:4 - Kingly Imps Caught:2Money Earned: 4.5-5m

n64jive
in runescape classic, you could trade with people that were far away, or in other words, they wouldn't come stand next to you when you trade. So people would use the press *** to determine where you were at in the crowd. Once you figured that out, there was no hide chat option, so you'd have to sit and look for the name, and buy pressing a number you could look quick and get a lil bit of the name to at least find out who it might be. Rune_User
Probably because in world 2, the largest trade world obviously, are pretty specific places that certain things are bought/sold..Like at the bridge in fally garden for torag and dharok items, etc.
GhettoDragon
Nowadays, I still see the press xxx being used from time to time. Sometimes I see people stop using the press system cause there are more efficent ways to buy and sell things especially in heavy populated areas where it's hard to see which person pressed the xxx. Leesters
You know what I miss? I miss having different "markets" all over the place. Draynor is where you sold Coal Certs Rares were sold behind the bank in Draynor Seers was where fletching items were sold Gosh, its been so long, that I can't even remember all the different places, but one thing is for sure.... They didn't cram everything in Fally Park and they didn't need to be on World 2 to market. I miss it. Getting on World 2 requires the patience of picking flax. A circus in Runescape?? Oh my. REMEMBER RUNESCAPE KARMA! Be a nice player, and nice things will come back to you.I'm back, add me if you deleted me. :)

Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
ssamriga
oh, the good old days... main trading spot was draynor because of the certs... I remember best place for selling runes was varrock, my first way of making money- killing druids at lesser deamon south of varrock, and also buying runes from other people there for around 10gp ea, and then going up to varrock and selling runes in stacks of 500-1000 (a lot back then) for 30-40gp ea, I was so proud I had found a way to make cash... then later of course playing for a month I found out there is Falador and Draynor and people buy and sell things a lot there ;) Playing since February 2003

Varrock Castle near the fountains was where all the Rune Armour/Weapon trading went on and a few rare trades and Varrock Centre was where all the pures went for armour, runes and ammys :P I miss that too :( Check out my blog here! Thanks Jopie211 for the sig
