jessy87
burn logs, its 1 way to get rid of logs for f2p and 1 way to get rid of logs that cant/wont be fletched & alched.
jaskkes
Well it does have a point. It's the only use for logs in F2P apart from selling them. How empty would woodcutting be in F2P if you didn't have a use for them.       Firemaking is peaceful and very fun to train in my eyes.
oddfaery2
it was really useful when splitbark came out, until mystic did. It's a shame how much of a ghost town that has become (no pun intended). It was lots of fun killing and burning shades there.  Proud to have gotten 1800 skill total before access to fishing guild Why make a house when you can rob one? petey
Firemaking ... Online therapy for pyro's?       Seriously though, getting rid of half the log's in runescape? welephant
It was out right near the start of the game (possibly the start, I can't honestly remember) I'm guessing they planned to make it useful, but could never figure out a way to use it, except for quests and the odd mini-game.           That's my theorem anywho. Shaddd
There is no point in it, but it is easy EXP. That is the reason people train it.   It's not entirely pointless, but close to it. FM deserves quite a few updates.
adon1
of course theres a point, it raises your skill level an the firemaking cape emote looks awesome :P I support jerk173 going for 99fish and cook! Do you? Click here!
Justthefr00b
It gives you a skill cape of the best color, ORANGE!               Well, the best color in my opinion. ROSA PARKS HAS JUST BEEN HIT BY A PIECE OF CHICKENRetired until further notice since quite frankly RuneScape has been boring me and it's not getting any better and WoW happened. wakka102
Yes, firemaking is long due for a huge update. I have a feeling we will see a huge firemaking update in the near future, and my feeling are usually correct :)

Uula
It's my favourite skill for some reasons:       1. Easy exp, total levels. A 99 :P   2. I can train it while listening to "Knalli ja Sateenvarjo"("Men From the Ministry" in finnish ;) ) as I don't have to think, or anything   3. It's a good way to get rid of logs, as I hate fletching :P
the_tallest1
I'll go with Uular's #3. I absolutely loathe fletching and it's a far better use for those logs in my opinion. :PÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â 99 fm :3> 571st to 99 Fm Nov. 4 '06 - 315th to 99 Crafting Mar. 3 '07 - 3410th to 99 Fishing Sept. 18 '0726378th to 99 Cooking Oct. 16 '07 -.- 99 Thieving Dec. 29 '07 - 1343rd to 99 Farming June 5 '081807th to 99 Agility Nov. 8 '08 - 3094th to 99 Smithing Feb. 14 '092012 total - 91 combat
Peronix
It used to have a point  The closest range to the bank was like 20 steps, and some people didn't want to walk that far so they burned a maple log and cooked their food right inside the bank. (yeah some banks don't let you light fires in them but fishing guild one does). But ever since they released the rogues den, I have never used firemaking  (except for total levels that is)

r2winn
i believe fletching didnt exist when runescape first came out. so firemaking was the only thing to do with logs
Abyssalwhip
the point is you pick up the fire and shove it down jagex's pants for making firemaking the most usefull skill Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....
fx1970
The biggest utility of fire making is to avoid me having to unload he wood I cut :)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â A little slower but Xp easily compensate for this extra time

Kinda sucks now that there are over 600 people with it now.. i was like 275th or something to 99 fm i thought it would be a cool thing to have since not many had it like range way back when i was like 189th to 99 now there are over 1k people with it.
