Is Runescape Better Than World Of Warcraft?

Featured Replies

Ok im trying to decide if i should start playing world of warcraft and i need some of your help. Most people say world of warcraft is better... but they most likely havent gotten to any fun stages in runescape or they havent got past the totorial island -.- I think that runescape is more addicting then "wow" but i need to figure out witch one is. So everybody that plays world of warcraft and actually likes it answer this post and give your opions about it.

Current Goals On My Skiller

85/85 Mining YEY!

55/60 Smithing

Just play both of them and you'll be sad you ever touched the boredom called RuneScape.

I'm not biased, I actually quit both games because they became boring. I'd just say WoW is a much more entertaining game with more things to do, more players, better customer support, and so on.

Runescape on the other hand is all about just clicking around mindlessly, going to a 'bank' to deposit resources, repeat 450 times and you advance from skill level 84 to 85. Don't say "I just don't get it", I did advance to the 108th combat level before becoming utterly bored maybe 4 years ago and did level some other skills too, to a lesser extent (mining for example... Is kind of..Blank)

WoW on the other hand has quests, nice dungeons, etc. and you don't necessarily have to even use the mouse for moving. It's difficult to put them both in the same series.

RS gets bonus for being accessible from any computer with a java compatible browser though. :)

WoW is too expensive I think. 15 bucks a month is a lot...I also do not want to buy the game. If WoW had a free version, I would try it.

Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!

WoW is better if you feel like paying like 2 or 3 times what you're paying for Runescape.

Not a big deal, considering any MMO worth any weight also has a monthly fee.

For me, I look at the time i put into runescape and wonder if i really should be putting any time into it. Then I think, that in ten years, Wow will not be the same (poeple char will be deleted since we all know the new WOW5 will be comming out) but runescape, it should at least have my char and all my stuff. so if i decide to quit for a year, ill have a double bank becuase somthing is bound to increase in value.

And runescape requires no download which rules.

Both are good games, I just prefer Runescape, I find it more fun. WoW is a bit too much of "bash animal with stick, get bigger stick, bash new animal with bigger stick, get even bigger stick...." for me. Again I love both games, RS just captivates me more.

Not to mention its called getting a job. I get paid about 300$ every two weeks working at a fast food place, and that sets me up for more then a year in two weeks.

Oh btw... The first zone you are in is probably 3x more complex, entertaining, and fun then all of RS put together. So imagin a whole world probably 10X the size of RS. Ive only been to some parts of the world, and its still fun!

Yes. Because it's less addictive.

20a7yhg.jpg

At least, I think that.

I think its silly people complain about paying $15 a month for WoW, I mean for the price of a movie and drink you're getting a full month of entertainment.

To answer your question though, play WoW. I played RS for a long time, got to the "fun" stage, did everything the game offers and WoW is just in another league. The most boring things in WoW are as fun as the funnest things in RS. My opinion of course, but im sure lots of people would agree.

And then theres the fact that you can put WoW down without thinking about playing it, unlike RS. Its much less addictive.

I have not much time to phrase a proper comment, but let me just tell you that I played RS and was a high level, with 98 fishing and other high skills before I switched to WoW. WoW is infinitely better. The gameplay is smoother, gaining levels is easier and not a task, playing in a team is fun (in RS it's next to impossible), and the community is fun and helping (WoW also has a clan system which works great, and the party systems also works great).

The PvP is extremely better and more fun (to the point that RS' PvP is mocked in the WoW forums, I remember seeing RS PvP vids whilst I was playing WoW thinking how ridiculous that game was  ). WoW is the least frustrating MMORPG I've played, and it tops RS in pretty much any way imaginable.

But RS is cheaper.

To be bluntly honest too, I don't see how anyone can truly compare a mostly free, browser based game to a full client game by a large company.

Honestly, runescape is probaly the most mocked game there is and rightfully so. It's only selling point is you don't need to install anything, making it easier for some people to get into it.

Also, i'm not sure how you can say WoW gets repettitive, but... than runescape doesn't? 99% of the time in runescape your either clicking on the same set of trees or clicking on the same mob for hours on end. Or, you just sit there and "afk train" checking back every 20 minutes. Runescape is the deffinition of repetitive.

^ It can go both ways. World of Warcraft has nothing to do with RS General.

Get Guild Wars instead if you just want to play for the decent graphics. And it won't break the bank either. Factions is what? $40?

RS is a Java game, not really comparable to the likes of WoW, Everquest, etc. I'd be surprised if someone can list a game that is as massive as RS but still playable even with the crappiest computers. A MMORPG is a MMORPG no matter how people spin it. WoW is just another money & time waster.

I mean for the price of a movie and drink you're getting a full month of entertainment.

Yes... compare how people stay in the basement to play vs being able to go out with friends.

This is comparing the two games. I doubt people in General f2p are going to have a lot of knowledge on WoW. You'll find more people educated in this area rather than a strictly Runescape forum.

Many aspects of WoW are much better, practically all of them, the one thing I like better in Runescape is the quests. World of Warcraft has a ton of armor choices, class choices, races, the instances are amazing, raids, and many other aspects that Runescape hasn't touched on. THere is only so far you can go with Java, and that is one reason why Runescape is held back so much. I have played Runescape for quite a while, level 94 I think, but I'm playing World of Warcraft now and haven't looked back. Overall, the community is much friendlier and willing to help as well, if you need help for a tough quest, there is a good bet that a level 60 (current cap) can help you out, just a much nicer environment in my opinion.

Yeah. I love having to pay 15 bucks a month after I already bought the game.

Yeah.

I found WoW to be THE most boring game I have played yet. I didn't even make it halfway through the 14 day trial I had.

I didn't like how some of the skills I tried out were setup and to me the game felt empty. Even when I was in one of the big cities.. I wasn't impressed with much...

I really wish I could have experienced whatever it was that made people addicted to the game.

In runescape when I was a noob exploring was fun.. in WoW it was like the game was only trying your patience to see how long you could look at the blande landscape and not scream.

i played WOW once and it sucked... the only thing it has better is graphics

Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....
