And I disagreed with the author because theres millions and millions of gamers and those few dozen or so people that committ suicide place a label on all gamers and make us "addicts." November 30, 200619 yr being an addict is not always an easy choice to make. And yes, the few will label the many, especially with games. if you cant go a day without playing a game your addicted, and you need help, its the same way with alcaholics and druc addicts. if anyone is killing themselves, or leading degraded lives because of a game, it needs to be dealt with, just as someone who has problems with drugs needs to be dealt with, no matter how few people there are.

November 30, 200619 yr If i were an addict, which im not, runescape would be the best thing, its 60 bucks a year, if you are addicted to drucgs, its a lot more money...lol. You may lose your friends, but at least with runescape you can still interact with people, being an alchaholic or drug addict, you dont do to well socially.

November 30, 200619 yr Everytime i see these suicide figures i laugh. Unless the person who commits suicide writes a note and says "im committing suicide over a game", how the hell can they tell? IMO people use games to take the blame off themselves. Gaming is becoming an overused scapegoat for people with problems and thus giving us all a bad reputation. Often I get told i dont have a life because i spend my time online - maybe they dont realise its much better socialisation online than going out and hanging around with a few drug addicts 8-)
