December 2, 200619 yr OK, so im in my room with laptop on my lap, and watching the telly while cooking, and "The Simpsons" goes to the break and some well good lookign advert comes on. it shows well good graphics of lke Lord Of The Rings kinda stuff and it is saying "join 7 million people online and then shows like well good Lord Of The Rings stuff like i already said" and i was like holy gwakamoli that looks well good!! im gna try that!! then it says world of warcraft and shows its case or sumink and says ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã14.99. or trywarcraft.com for a free try. i was like OMG! -NOTE- IVE NEVER PLAYED WoW AND NEVER WILL This got me thinking.... what if RS made an advert? Besides we've got to realize that the commercial is relying on the visual appeal of WoW. You can't show the depth and personality of a game in a 30-second advertisement. Therefore Jagex couldn't display the satire and the simple, 'time-waster' attitude that the game truly represents. Instead they would show shots of people fighting the KBD, the KQ, and other high level, 'fancy-lookin' ' monsters and then of course they'd make some movie clips that are stylized and not actual in game footage and then Wakka would be 100% correct. :(

I got bored very very fast and I continued to die alot. It's also way too combat based, I like the variety in skills that runescape has and that you can do every skill and not just a couple.

Think about this though, WoW costs $15 USD a month, and RS only costs $5, so perhaps saying that all of them would be f2p is a bad statement ... I haven't played since, so I'm not an authority on the matter, but from the quality of topics that get moved from RS General to OT it appears that the number of "noobs" per capita has at least remained the same, if not increased. EDIT: Forgot my point :D . Which is that while the advertisement may bring in more "noobs", they would just be a drop in the ocean.

I don't think an advertisement for runescape would...work. It's already the most rediculed MMO's out there.

I actually think it would be quite easy for a RS TV ad to be made, lots of nice little image things in the game now :) We're not exactly drowning in noobs. When rs2 came out, 15k people online was a lot. After miniclip, we tripled that with only a few more servers :| Scary. ~M
