December 4, 200619 yr For those who don't know, martyrs are people who want to get a certain mesage across and don't mind dying for their cause. Okay, we've all heard of the people who spoil the fun of RuneScape; lurers, scammers, autoers, hackers, and any other rulebreaker. Here is a new one that I discovered during my current noob_guy event... (This happened in Varrock east bank, world 81, about 7pm GMT yesterday [4th]) Martyr: Go to [website avoiding filter system] for free items! Martyr: Go to [website avoiding filter system] for free items! Martyr: Go to [website avoiding filter system] for free items! Martyr: Go to [website avoiding filter system] for free items! Martyr: Go to [website avoiding filter system] for free items! Everyone else: Shut up! Everyone else: Reported! Martyr is a lvl 59, BTW. Me (PM): Why are you doing that? About 20 people have reported you. Martyr: So? I drop-traded everything onto my main. Me: They might IP ban you. {Note: not sure if this is possible...} Martyr: I don't care, I have 100's of other accounts. Me: But you trained your character up to level 59... Martyr: No, i stole someone else's account, so they will be banned. Me: Wow, you broke loads of rules... Martyr: Shut the [bleep] up you [bleep]! Big mistake, he just admitted that he has just broken 4 rules... :uhh: I was shocked and appalled by this. Is this what RuneScape has come to, breaking about 4 rules just to advertise a website? If you read, please reply, especially if you were at the bank at that time. Moving to new account, subtle_rune. Please PM me there. Now you know that you can trust him!
December 4, 200619 yr they aren't just advertising, the are getting u to go to a keylogger site and hack u and get your pass until they hit a really good acc and all the other stuff they drop trade anyway just for some extra cash

December 4, 200619 yr Martyr? More like "account harvester". Sounds like he's just trying to get people to get a keylogger so he can steal tons of accounts and sort through the highest level/richest accounts and take their items. Scary that there are people out there that do that. BTW, it is possible to ban IPs, but Jagex usually only does that with macroers because they usually have tons of accounts online at once. the russians are the best! Hands down!
December 4, 200619 yr Wow... that is most definitely the most impressive RS crime spree I've ever seen, if it were real life, it'd totally be all over the 6 o'clock news. TONIGHT ON CHANNEL 6 ACTION NEWS... A new menace is hitting the streets, putting the lives of our children in danger... tonight at 9! :ohnoes:
December 4, 200619 yr Lol, sorry I wasnt there. But if hes broken so many, he might get IP banned :))! Crazy Old Man.R.I.P The Old Nite. My Mentor and Brother. He taught me how to play the game.
December 4, 200619 yr You define Martyr at the top of your post, yet you seem to fail to grasp the meaning of the word in the rest of your post. How exactly is this guy a martyr? It is not his account, he hasn't lost anything in this, how is he a martyr? 99/99 Fletching, 99/99 Cooking, 96/99 Strength
December 5, 200619 yr Not at the bank but I think ive run into him before recently. same level and same resposnce on pm. Msby not he same person though because that was a week ago and he should have been banned.
December 5, 200619 yr Wow... if it were real life, it'd totally be all over the 6 o'clock news. ... tonight at 9! You have the 6 o clock news at 9? Is that something to do with time zones? :P
December 5, 200619 yr Always sad to hear stories like this. This guy is really desperate. I'm sorry to say that I have seen alot of other people who break almost all of RS:s rules for just some little, unimportant thing like advertsing for a website. Really, really stupid. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
December 5, 200619 yr Author Just to clear things up, I believd this guy was a Martyr, because he risked getting banned (maybe ip) for his cause, until he said it wasn't his account. Moving to new account, subtle_rune. Please PM me there. Now you know that you can trust him!
December 5, 200619 yr I just mute them everytime I see one :) It's really sad thinking about the people who fall for it though... just fuels my desire for hunting them even more :P P-Mod Black Kenja
December 5, 200619 yr Wow... if it were real life, it'd totally be all over the 6 o'clock news. ... tonight at 9! You have the 6 o clock news at 9? Is that something to do with time zones? :P Wahaha! Man.. I love the tip.it forums :D
December 5, 200619 yr Omg... That's just :uhh: They should hurt that kid in real life. It prolly is just a 9-year old who ruins it for everyone. Heared btw they can NOT Ip-ban you. Jagex can't see your IP-adress. That's why they have to tell they are Multi-logging to report them, since Jagex can't see the Ip's to check them. Alteast, that's what I heared from a quite trustfull player... "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
December 6, 200619 yr Me: They might IP ban you. {Note: not sure if this is possible...} i think jagex may ip ban you if you do something really bad...its probably possible. but i dunno. Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
December 6, 200619 yr Jagex can't see your IP-adress. Ummm.... Whenever you log in, at the top of the screen, it says what IP you last logged in from, I'd say that means that they know :P Always buying:Coal at 170:Mith at 350
December 7, 200619 yr Noun: Martyr - One who suffers for the sake of principle He's a noob not a martyr. [brought to you by the Cult of the Sacred Crate]17th to 99 Smithing OSRS
December 7, 200619 yr Just to clear things up, I believd this guy was a Martyr, because he risked getting banned (maybe ip) for his cause, until he said it wasn't his account. Even if it was his account he still wouldn't be considered a martyr. Learn the meaning of a word before you use it. Check out my Pocket Slot idea!
December 7, 200619 yr A martyr sacrifices his or her life for a greater good. A scammer is not a martyr, even if he risked getting banned doing it. By that logic, a murderer risks getting caught and shot, therefore he or she is a martyr. Please learn the meaning of words before you decide to use them. Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims. ~Toxicologist~
December 8, 200619 yr Jagex can't see your IP-adress. Ummm.... Whenever you log in, at the top of the screen, it says what IP you last logged in from, I'd say that means that they know :P We can see it. But I don't think they can see it. Also, don't think they save our Ip-adresses in their computer. Cause that would be privacy concerns or something? Dunno, but from what I heared, they can't do so... They can see you ip adress and know what you do. And yes runescape does have cookies. I have two form them and i deleted my cookies a few hours ago. They most likley don't save the ip adress to a spefic place but they do check to see if you mulpute logged in. But jagax is a compnay first and formost so you shouldn't worry about their cookies. IT is only the cookies form less reputable sites you should worry about.
