We have skill capes - why not mod capes ?

Ok, i'm not a mod myself nor do i have a skill that is 99, but i had an idea of mod capes. And maybe they could have a snazzy emote come with it too. You would be able to collect them from the Lumbridge guide. Give the same stats as a skill cape as well. Free Player Mods as well.Remember, it is just my idea, if you don't like it, please tell my why you don't like it, don't just bash it please. The only bad thing i can think about this is that players may want a mod cape and report everything that they can.

i quickly made a little model of what they might look like in paint so the quality is not all that great. Maybe someone may like to make a better model or if i can figure out photoshop, i'll try myself.

they shouldn't glorify someone being a mod, if they created an item specific to mods only for no apparant reason, when they can talk and be identified is quite odd. They're players...just players with abilities, not above everyone else.

unfortunately with everyone wanting a mod cape, there would be alot of falsing reporting, even more than right now for they believe lots of reporting = instant modship

This would be a problem.

But I still like the idea.

+1 so no for the capes =;

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

we dont need people to report silly amounts of people to try and become mods in order to earn a cape. this is the silliest suggestion ever. if you were a mod, or had actually talked to any mods, you would know that more attention from a cape is NOT what you want. we get enough questions about the crown. we dont need ever other person out there asking questions about the cape. mods are normal players. thus, we should be treated as such. we do not deserve these capes, and they are a stupid idea.

how so? the crown gets you more attention in the trading worlds. especially when it appears through public chat off.

would those supporting the idea give a reason why?

Even if there's a mod cape, I doubt any mod would wear it since it's the probably going to be the ultimate noob magnet. The crown is more than enough plus, people don't really need to know that someone is a mod...ask any pmod they'll tell you they like working undercover 8-)

Personally i don't like the idea, and i doubt if any p-mods would actually wear it. Whenever we talk we get intantly bugged with questions and sometimes just plain abused :wall: . If we then made it more obviouse that we were mods, i guess it would happen even more <.<

As well as this it would just create more jealousy amongst players who arn't mods ::'

I guess the idea itself wasn't too bad, but i think the crowns more than enough

Undercover rules ::' if they knew you were there they'd just move on and try somewhere else

its a bad idea because you cant work to being a mod it just would be fair that jegex would give you a cape because thats against their rules

Hmm, so those people who mass report deserve capes now? Any level 3 can stand in World 1 and get Pmod these days.

Reasons to disagree.

1. Player Moderators are just normal players. They should not get special treatment, except in Reporting. JAGeX said so themselves.

2. If the Cape is weaker than any existing Capes, than that means Player Moderators will be limited in terms of Capes. If it is stronger than normal capes, then that contradicts point 1: they don't get special treatment.

3. If the Player Moderators don't care, why should you? A crown is enough, and I am sure they would agree. They have enough attention already.
