I had the idea of this box when I gave a christmas present to a RS friend. I thought "What if the present was a total surprise?". The solution is here:

 

 

 

Present Boxes!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You get one in any general store for 10gp. You "use" the items you want to give with the box. You trade the box with a friend and he opens it. When he opens it, the item or items you put there appear in his inventory and the box is ready to be re-used later.

ya that would be cool but more like a stall that sells em.. (remembers that pick that showed those present boxes at draynor) then you could buy different styles

Each Item got a ID

 

 

 

Example:

 

 

 

Santa hat: 20392 (Just a sample)

 

 

 

Present box with Santa hat: 29333 (Just a sample and the "with Santa hat would be hidden")

 

 

 

Soooo, Jagex must made another 4000 Item's ;-).

Wouldn't it be easier to just 'use' the present on the person you want to give it too? Or, like the rubber chicken, have a 'Give present' option when you right click on the person and you have a present in your inventory?

Or another present box. I like this idea,about the item numbers, that might be the only problem.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Special wraps may include : Christmas ones ,easter, halloween, birthday, and RS themed ( lol wrap with p hats on it that contains ashes..... )

Nice idea, but if the box is reusable eventually runescape will be flooded with them. And its bad enough with all the burnt fish and weeds everywhere. :wall:

Well, lets look at the math:

 

 

 

About 400 Jagex members/4000= 10 for everyone!

i lik the idea and i think u shuld just use it so evry1 doesnt scam each other...

 

 

 

and a box with a present in it shuld b non-tradeable

maybe u dont get to put a present in there, maybe u buy from general store for like 100gp or 1k wateva and its a rondom item inside not knowing wat it is

I don't like the lottery concept. It's either a waste of money, or a method of devalue on certain items, or both. :XD:

Regarding the item ID problem, here's the solution:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just make a seperate variable to store the item ID of what is in the box.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Present Box (ID 5000)

 

 

 

Present Box (ID 5000) w/ present (item's ID)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, let's say a Blue Party Hat is ID 6000. The ID for a box with a Blue Party Hat in it is 50006000. When the player want's to open the box, the game engine splits the variable at the 4th number (numbers start at 0), and the left over numbers would be what the player gets!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Get it? I like this idea too.
