i have serious doubts that they'd increase the skill cap on some skills but not others. Out of the hundreds of thousands of rs players, extremely few have 99 skills, so doing this would be a little unfair i think...and pointless.

eventually sometime many hundreds of people will have 99 in all combat stats.(especially with pc) .when that time comes pking and staking will suck as everyone has 99 in every skil.l it will be more based on luck than skill as all combat is at 99

Talk to me when that happens. Until then, don't bother.

the problem with this guy that he is like level 20 and doesnt understand what its like to have a stat at 80

edit : just looked him up.... not ranked in attack defense or strength

So you're calling me a noob? Ever heard of skillers? (I'm partially a skiller...I have SOME combat...) What makes you think that you have to be ranked in attack/defense/strength to have experience of playing RuneScape? And I'm level 58... And having a skill at 80 isn't having one at 99. Which I DOUBT you have. So why don't you shut up?

actually idiot i have atleast 20m xp in all my fighting stats and have been playing since you were in diapers

Hm...Looks like you don't know what doubt means. Anyways...So what if you have a lot of fighting XP? I nearly-completely hate combat...I only train it to do quests/slayer. The last time I trained combat without doing a slayer task in the meantime was when in June or something. And you're better..That's obviously because you've played longer. Is that my problem? NO! So why don't you shut up about how I have less combat XP [Which I hate] than you?!

Stihl and Striker...I've never noticed that. Nice find...Should be close to the catual formula.

And yeah...How about some [Non-idiotic] people with 99 in almost all skills have a say?

no, just no, why, what is the point, so many people would ruin their childhood (but in some cases their adulthood =; ) people would be trying to get to what ever the max is, and they would get sick of runescape... the only skills that would be even worth getting past 99 would be :

Attack : So you would almost always hit high

Strength : To hit super high with melee

Defence : To block from attacks

Range : To hit high with range

Hit Points : To last longer in battles

Agility : Your run energy would revive super fast

Cooking : Only really need it to be 99 with a skill cape to not burn things

Rune crafting : to make like 10 mind runes per ess

And thats all i can think of right now, but i dont really like this idea, people would be way to powerful...

lvl 99 is already hard to get... why would you want lvl 250 cooking?? (200.000.000 exp)

i dont know y someone would want lvl 250 cooking but what about lvl 250 str, prayer, or hp. i know it will be hard to train but thats y i think we should be able to have the benifits from it.

I agree with you. I think these skills should be beyond 99:

- HP/Str/Def/Att/Ranged/Mage/Prayer

- Mining

- Cooking (up to lvl 110)

... no more ideas

No! You'll die if you try to kill that farmer!
nah whips should be as left as is. besides theyre the intestine of an abbysal demon (i think) have fun crafting that.

erkid"]99 is a good number. If they had more people would nolife even more to get them. Which isn't healthy.

your saying that jagex shouldnt make any more update becuase they are afraid that their player are goin to get addicted??? Anyyhooo eventally the xp to level up will just be to high that most players will give up. but i still think that it should be done

I think your just jelous that you will never get a stat to 99 so you don't want people running around who have them to make you fell bad, there just something to give the high level players to have for getting 13m exp, if you think about it all your stats are probley 100k exp no you need to times that by 130 times

the lvl for 200mil exp is believed to be lvl 126 because the exp doubles every 7 levels are HIGHER levels.

but 126 str, id love.

Um, no? If they did this I would protest. 99 is enough.

no it is NOT.. especially with skill capes. now if you had exp for lvl 100 and the cape on, it should give a CONSTANT STACKABLE lvl 100. of course unless it was prayer or hp and it wheres down from useage.

Actually every 7 levels your experience doubles.
Some random tests of that theory:

17(3115)/10(1154) = ~2.70

25(7842)/18(3523) = ~2.23

41(41171)/34(20224) = ~2.04

58(224466)/51(111945) = ~2.01

74(1096278)/67(547953) =~2.00

86(3597792)/79(1798808) = ~2.00

95(8771558)/88(4385776) = ~2.00

99(13034431)/92(6517253) = ~2.00

That's surprisingly accurate at higher levels, but don't forget that it's still an approximation. The "actual" formula is probably known only to Jagex.

Well I know it isn't 100% accurate, but it gives a good idea in your head in how much exp you need to gain for the next level, it helps

99 is plenty. If people could go on and on levelling up, they would have no goal to head towards. :wall: It would be cool, though, to be able to walk around wildy whacking people for 60 or 70 with one hit! A one man clan so to speak! :D

Seriously though, there are precious few changes when you get to high levels in most of the skills; what would there be to look forward to? So you're at level 104 herblore, and you need another 40 million xp until you can make such and such...hmm. =;

Don't follow me. You might not make it.

its 13m to 99...how the hell would 200million exp only make you lvl 130....
It's 605k to 68...how the hell would 13million exp only make you lv 99....

Exponential growth. Ask your math teacher.

The reason I point that out, Striker6, is that you say "actually, it's such and such". See, 'actually', you're full of crap, because as useful as that approximation is, it still isn't perfect.

I know, I'm a tightwad when it comes to numbers.

Most of the people who want this are oldschoolplayers who put in the hard work to get high xp, most of the people who dont want it are low lvls/rs2 products who havnt.

I support this, people who put in the extra effort should get the extra benefit, my real life mate miles15 is already at the xp total for 126 def, and if he got in a fight with some one who has 1/10th of his xp that person would have an even chance in combat, thats stupid.

I say drop all limits, if some one wants to no life it, its not your problem.

Id prolly get about 110 str on my rune pure then :D

I agree with the person who says its hard to get level 300 in something. Like cmon, Slayer Mining etc already take long enough to level in at 80+ but at level 254 when you need 106M exp to level come on thats like doing 1-99 almost 10 times. Its brutal.

What are u talking about???!!?!? there is no goal no beacuse once u hit 99 u can get any higher. now becuase u can get past 99 there is all ways something to reach. And people need to stop saying that other people will no life as a argument. it doesnt affect you and that people will no life even with the skill cap

If they do, they better not make me unable to wear my capes. Then I would be mad.

99 magic = hell to get

Why not just leave the cap at 99? Honestly I worked for nearly half a year and sacrificed a huge piece of my membership credit for it.

I went for 99 because it promised I would never again have to level it, meaning no training, and I get this awesome cape.

It's already bad enough when someone spends forever on a game, like 12 hours. They never spend time with family, and they might flunk school/quit their jobs because they are too occupied with the game.

Trying to get 99 in something already creates stress on you, why make it worse because Jagex made 300 the max? And in a couple years you know your character with 99 magic would be obselete when someone gets 300 and is able to do an instant death spell and has the abilities of the Mahjarrat where they don't have to use runes anymore and they become super mages and are way too overpowered.

Seriously, you'll make everything unbalanced over 99. Melee/mage/range would be chaotic and hellish when you just 1 hitted someone and it removed the fun of having a close fight with someone.

No it would be the exact same as fighting in lvl 50 wild right now, you can always kill people much lower then you easily, upping the cap just allows people to work harder to benifit more.

If people cant control themselfes then they shouldnt play the game. But it will happen even with or with out the skill cap. and like i said before, jagex wouldnt have to make updates for the skill cap increase, like ur instant death spell, the update would be in the fact that many skills get better as they lvl up like str, hp, prayer, ranged etc.

True, but anyways if they upped the caps wouldn't that create more lag or whatever? And where would it end?

Anyways we can technically get 100 in something. Like I'm "100" fletch, possibly 101 (not too sure, 16M experience though), but it just displays 99. Once you get 99, it immediately displays the next level at thing, and it's at like 14.4 I think.
