Counterfeiting Gp Add-on to Thieving *REDONE*

Featured Replies

Here is my idea, a new add-on to 'Thieving' named 'Counterfeiting', it of course will give you the chance to counterfeit gold. To learn how to counterfeit, you need to do a quest.

Name: Golden Paradise

Starting Location: Counterfeit Club in East Ardougne

Counterfeit_Guild.jpg

Skills Need: 99 Theiving

Items Needed: 1 Gold Bar, Coin Mold (Made during quest, 1 (new) gp + Clay + Heat = Coin Mold), 1k gp, Logs, Knife, Ink (Redberrys grounded up)

You talk to the head counterfeiter. He says that he can't trust new comers so, your going have to do something major to gain the trust of the other counterfeiters. You figure out that the King of Varrock and King of Ardougne have got together and decide to change the way currency is designed. The counterfeiters are scared of getting put out of buisness so, they want you to get the new currency making mold. You go to Varrock.

When you get to Varrock, you need to go and talk to the only person who would know where the new plate is. The librarian in the Varrock castle. You talk to him and he is very resistent. You offer him 1k gp and he agrees on 1 condition. You have to return the plate in perfect condition in under 3 hours.

You take the new plate back to the head counterfeiter and he asks if you could make a new coin for them. You take a gold bar and the new coin plate. You smelt a new coin but, when put under extreme heat the plate cracks and breaks. The only plate existing! You go to speak to the Head Counterfeiter to give him to coin and he hears about your predictment. He teaches you how to make 'Gp Plate'.

You get soft clay and the new coin and push the coin into the clay and make an imprint. You go to give the libraran his Gp plate back. He knows it is fake...good thing the libraran stole that old plate from a vault under the castle and has been making fake gp for the past year. You ask him how he got the plate so easily. He gives you a clue, his insider had an inside hand on banking and knows the weak points in vaults due to the insider recently robbing a bank. Yes. The old man in Draynor is his insider. You go speak to him and he reveals his secret, he IS the head counterfeiter. He is a master of tele-magic and can teleport between Draynor and Ardougne instantly. He asks if you could make a new plate for him and he gives you the needed supplies. Once you make the new Gp plate, you try and give him the coin. He refuses to take it unless it has his face stamped on it. He teaches you how to imprint things into coins. By using acid on a wood stamp. To make the stamp, you must buy a picture then cut it on to a block of wood (To get a block of wood, you just use a knife on regular log). To get acid, you must buy it for 25gp from the Counterfeiting Club. You then imprint the old man's face on the coin and give it back to him, he thanks you.

Reward:

-Access to Counterfeiter Guild

-Access to Counterfeiting Mini-Game

Counterfeiter Mini-Game

When you start the game you will come into a room that has a cage guarded by level 100 guards. Inside the vault is the 1 and only GP plate, to start the mini-game, you must be the 1st team inside the vault and get the plate. There will be many ways into the vault.

  •

Mine a hole into the side of a vault. (70 Mining needed)

Find explosives and blow a hole in the vault. (60 combat and 60 crafting needed)

Kill the guards and lockpick the vault. (Combatting and 90 Thieving)

    Bribe the guards. (10,000Gp)

Distract the guards. (A team of dancers)

Now, if you get the mold/plate first. You must take it back to your counterfeiting machine and stick into the hole for the Gp mold.

Once, secure, you need gold bars to get started making gp. Once you have the gold bars. You stick it in the melting box (60 Crafting needed)

When at least 5 gold bars have been stuck in. You need 2 people with 50+ agility, they must get on bikes and pedal the mold into poistion under the melting box.

Once it is in position, gold will melt into the mold. The bike pedalers now must pedal the mold out and the crafters must crack the coin out of the mold.

The mold they stole earlier reappears and it starts all over again.

The way to win is have the most GP at the end of a 10 mintue round.

Here is what the twist to the game

-If they didn't get it first, they can take explosives and blow the opponets machine up. Once the machine is blown up, the mold is revealed and open for stealing. The team that machine was blown up must find 10 iron bars to repair the machine (60 Smithing needed for the repairer)

-Once you have the mold, you can make new molds out of clay and the first produced coin.

-Commemorative coins earn 2gp rather than the 1gp that usually comes out of the machine. To make a commemorative coin, you have to find a imprint, then stick it in the Imprinting Machine. To get it to work, you must dump acid into the acid container then put a coin on the conveyor belt and pedal the conveyer belt. (60 Agility needed), once under the imprinter, someone pulls a lever and it is imprinted. To finish it, a level 50 crafter must use a polishing rag on it to make it shiny again.

-If you imprint the bonus imprint when it is indicated, you will get 3gp per coin that you make with that imprint during that period.

Here is the proposed mini-game map.

CounterfeitingMini-Game.jpg

The black circles are levers that when pulled, alert that team of intruders. It will give the team time to hide the plate.

The empty white boxes are where you put the completed coins.

THE PRIZES:

If your team wins, you get a choice of 2 prizes:

Half of the GP your team made (More than 2 people CAN choose this)

Points totalling in half of the GP you made in the game. You can use Counter-Feiting points in the Counterfeiting shop. The shop's inventory will have this:

A Unusable Commemarative coin - 20 points

Black Theives Mask - 30 points

Points to Coins - Any

Isn't theiving already a good way to make some extra cash? :wall:

"The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

Sounds like an add on to thieving also friends would just keep "applauding" eachother so take that out. :wall:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

The way you putted the idea together: 6/10

Your actual idea: 0/10

Your idea is a very cheap and quick way of making lots of money. I can't see this happeneing at all. I would think you just want lots of money in Runescape and be greedy.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Nice idea. I support :)

I like the general idea of it, BUT:

-This would not be it's own skill. Maybe it could be an add-on to thieving?

-This is not tradeable (aka you can not buy things from other player with it)

-You will sometimes get caught by the storekeeper

Bad idea to the 10th power

If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

1. An add-on would be cool.

2. Yea. Very few people would test the gold

3. If you read my whole 1st post, it says that.

av33318.png

sure it will happen but only when...........

a guard/storekeeper will call a KQ to atk this guy for thiving! or a KBD will breathfire on you and BBQ you for taking what isnt yours...........

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

there is a problem in runescape; the worthlessness of gold bars. They sell for about 150 gp ea, in bulk, on the official forums. If there was something to do with the excess gold bars, it could make smithing more profitable, and help runescape overall.

This is the dumbest idea, I've ever read.
