I got 25... I only answered the questions I knew, and never saw the show... About the what's the most common material in the world thing, does that mean elements? Cause if it does, it's hydrogen, which is not your answer...

Losers...

Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?

Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.

Cad, he's right about the Devil number... it's 666. And I'm pretty sure the Stars And Stripes had 50 stars for a reason. Also, a nostril'sdefinition is 'an opening at the end of the nose' so I think that proves another one wrong.

Re-read the first page.

The devil's number on recently "changed" after a mis-interpretation was thought it to be 666, but they re-did it and found out it was 616.

The "stars and stripes" has nothing to do with it. USA is divided into 50 areas, true. But they're not all states. By definition, about ~4 of them are commonwealths.

A nostril is one of the two channels of the nose, from the point where they bifurcate to the external opening. In birds and mammals they contain branched bones or cartilages called turbinates whose function is to warm air on inhalation and remove moisture on exhalation. Fish do not breathe through their noses, but they do have two small holes used for smelling which may be called nostrils.

Fish do not breath through their nose, yet they have nostrils.

And if you want some more ranting material:

How many planets are in our solar system?

The answer: 80,000.

Why? Asteroids, TNOs (trans-Neptunian objects) and the like are technically classified as minor planets. NASA have also never released an 'official' defintion to the word planet.

Have more:

How many moons does the Earth have?

Answer: Atleast 7.

Why? Luna (The only one we refer to as the moon) is the only one to have a strict orbit of this planet. There are many other NEAs (Near Earth Asteroids) that follow a less-strict orbit, but do orbit this planet.

And finally:

How many senses does a human have?

Answer: Atleast 9.

Why? Although the five main senses (Sight, Hearing, Touch, Taste and Smell) cover most things, there are others which are rarely referred to, yet are very important.

Thermoception; The ability to sense heat on our skin.

Equilibrioception; The ability to balance. Indicated by the fluid-filled cavities in our ears.

Nociception; The ability to sense pain from skin, joints and body organs. Although you may think this falls under the touch sense, when was the last time you felt someone poke your kidney without touching your skin? This excludes the brain because it has no pain receptors atall, including headaches, which don't actually come from the brain.

Proprioception; The "spacial awareness" ability. This lets you know where your body parts are in relation to your body without seeing them. For example; close your eyes and waggle your foot, you still know where it is in relation to your body.

I could go on all day, but i'll leave it at that for now for people to think about.

knkcopy.jpg

Actually last year the definition of a planet WAS released. Which is why we technically only have 8 planets now (according to the new definition). Pluto is not.

Yes, thats more like how it is. This whole topic is based on how you look at it, its like saying Adam & Eve were the first humans because thats what it says in the bible
The world would be a whole lot better if little green men in UFO's came down to earth to abduct rednecks.
its like saying Adam & Eve were the first humans because thats what it says in the bible
Stephen Fry tends to not talk about religion during the show and if so he does in a negative way. I doubt that comparison to the show would ever be made. The fingers/thumb is a good way of explaining it tho.

No, you are right, except for the part where you said I am wrong. I never said that it was the United States before the Constitution. I said there were 16 presidents before the Constitution. There are actually only 13, but they served 16 terms. I just counted the terms without looking at the names. But anyways, the question wasn't "Who was the first President of the United States", the question was "Who was the first American president".

Ah ha! You're all wrong!! The answer is there are none!

The reasoning? Well when asked "Who was the first American president" the questioned never specified "president over america" it actually meant "Who was the first American president...of France"

So sorry, you're all wrong, you interpretted the question differently than I :P

I'll try and justify your answers as best I can.

1. 6 and '2' mistresses, but that number can vary.

2. 2 but apparently you say different, but I'll leave you to that one.

3. Noting wider than a beach ball which must be around the size of a grapefruit, though I disagree.

4. Most agree British India (Pakistan or Bangladesh) or Glasgow.

5. The only way I can justify this is if perovskite crystals occupy geodes inside the earth.

6. 616 656 or 666.

7. It's 50, so this one is unjustifiable.

8. Not justifiable, we are not in an ice age.

The present ice age began 40 million years ago with the growth of an ice sheet in Antarctica, but intensified during the Pleistocene (starting around 3 million years ago) with the spread of ice sheets in the Northern Hemisphere. Since then, the world has seen cycles of glaciation with ice sheets advancing and retreating on 40,000 and 100,000 year time scales. The last glacial period ended about ten thousand years ago.

So around ten thousand years ago.

9. Peyton Randolph was the first president of the Continental Congress, which isn't the US presidency. He was succeeded by Henry Middleton, who would also be not called a president of the USA.

10. Not justifiable, they use a been or pungi that is made from a gourd.

So some of the answers are just weird.

1 - it doesn't change the fact that he did marry. The records and religious things may have been deleted but the fact remains that Henry 8th married six different women. And anyway even if he did annul 4 weddings, he would have married twice. Whereas in your first post you say he married four times..

2. Actually... the definition of a nostril is a small opening at the end of the nose.

5. A 'material' can be either a matter or a fabric... so depending on how you look at it...

6. Where the heck did you get that from? Can you supply a source, please?

1. Actually it does.

To make void; to cancel an event or judicial proceeding both retroactively and for the future. For example, a marriage that is annulled is struck from all records and stands as if never performed. A divorce merely cancels a valid marriage from the date of divorce.

And the weddings depend if you're Catholic or not. The Pope declared 2 of his annulments illegal, but it doesn't matter if you're of another religion.

2. I repeat:

A nostril is one of the two channels of the nose, from the point where they bifurcate to the external opening. In birds and mammals they contain branched bones or cartilages called turbinates whose function is to warm air on inhalation and remove moisture on exhalation. Fish do not breathe through their noses, but they do have two small holes used for smelling which may be called nostrils.

5.

Material is the substance or matter from which something is or can be made, or also items needed for doing or creating something.

6.

616 (six hundred sixteen in American English, six hundred and sixteen elsewhere) is believed by some to have been the original Number of the Beast in the Book of Revelation in the Christian Bible. Different early versions of the Book of Revelation gave different numbers, and 666 had been widely accepted as the original number. In 2005, however, a fragment of papyrus was revealed, containing the earliest known version of that part of the Book of Revelation discussing the Number of the Beast. It gave the number as 616, suggesting that this may have been the original. [1] This caused Peter Sagal on the USA's National Public Radio anal Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! to quip that Hell must be in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as Grand Rapids' area code is 616. 666 remains the most widely recognized number, however. It was suggested by Graeme Garden in an episode of QI that if 666 was the number of the Beast, 616 was the fax number of the Beast.
