January 2, 200719 yr Uh? There are at least 5 questions wrong, or very, very odd. Since when did the US lose 4 states? Henry XIII had 6 wives according to me and 666 is, in our current civilisation, the number of the devil, not 616. And if by the term Ice Age we mean a colder period than normal, we are absolutely not in one now. We are at the peak of the opposite: We are a few degrees above the avg temperature. The graph is from a meteo centre in Russia, where the avg temp throughout the year now is around 0̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð. In an Ice Age, it is about -8̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð. Nope. Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts are officially commonwealths. Henry VIII's marriage to Anne of Cleeve's was anulled, not divorced. Annulled meaning that it never happened. He also anulled his marriage to Anne Boleyn (just before she was executed) and Catherine Howard. He also deemed his first marriage to Catherine of Aragon to be invalid on the fact a man could not sleep his brother's widow. In 2005 a new translation of the Book of Revelation clearly shows the number to be 616 not 666. The term Ice Age is meant when there are polar ice caps present. So techincally, despite being warmer, we are in an Ice Age. Aren't there always polar caps present? We ARE in the warmest peak of the ice age cycle and still there are pretty immense polar caps. I think your definition is a bit off. Some people think that because there are ice caps we are in an ice age. An ice age is a period of long-term downturn in the temperature of Earth's climate, resulting in an expansion of the continental ice sheets, polar ice sheets and mountain glaciers. The world would be a whole lot better if little green men in UFO's came down to earth to abduct rednecks.
January 2, 200719 yr idiotic and a waste of my time. why the hell did i even post? proud quest cape ownerhere's my first post on the TIF (scroll to the bottom)feel free to pm me, but do make sure that i know you're a Tip.It user (in other words, give me a HYT)
January 2, 200719 yr 616 is incorrect. scholars are unsure as to wether the number is 666 or 616 so saying 616 is simply a method of bending the truth to trick people. In the NIV edition the "number of the beast" is 666, but marked with a fottnote saying "or possibly 616, scholars uncertain". henry was married to 6 different women, and thereby had 6 individual wives, but these were subsequently disolved. Thus we may say "how many legal marriages did Henry have?" and that would produce those answers, but he qite clearly had 6 wives.

All the answers are stick questions and thus if you say one of the answers that the "elves" set as being wrong an alarm goes off and a klaxxen sounds. Its a comedy quiz format with the panellists all being from a comedy background. Its not a multiple choice quiz show with prizes for the winner as is the cast with most American shows which is probably why people are having difficulties getting the joke on this thread. I know it is a comedy show, I've watched it before and I quite like it. Stephen Fry is some kind of god. I was just pointing out that the questions are not representetive of the majority of the other questions, which are not so silly. And...it might have been better to post a you tube link of the show (if there is one) so that other people (Americans) cna understand that it isn't meant to be serious. I rather think the way it was presented her makes it seem more serious than it actualy is.

January 2, 200719 yr I agree this is dumb. Even if these questions are technically wrong who cares? I mean if everyone thinks the same thing does it really matter that 616 was really the devils number? Ugh this thing frustrates me I don't know why. You have four nostrils. Two you can see, two you can't. The discovery came from observing how fish breathe. Fish get their oxygen from water. They have two pairs of nostrils, a forward-facing set for letting water in and a pair of 'exhaust pipes' for letting it out again. If humans evolved from fishes, where did the other pair of nostrils go? The answer is that they migrated back inside the head to become internal nostrils called choannae - greek for 'funnels'. These connect to the throat and are what allow us to breath through our noses. That's only if you beliefe in evolution. January 2, 200719 yr That's only if you beliefe in evolution. Your 'belief' in evolution doesn't change your physique one way or the other. Perovskite: is a relatively rare mineral occurring in orthorhombic (pseudocubic) crystals. It's polymorph may be the most occurring mineral in the world, not the material. Whale Whales can actually swallow items up to the size of a football or a beach ball. Nostril The common description in the dictionary is something 'at the end of your nose', which doesn't make it 4 but 2. 666 Yeah, that's a common misconception (mistranslation). The number is 616, but people can't be bothered to learn what it really is.
January 2, 200719 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c1bJRE6Nl0 First 8 minutes or so of an episode of QI for those that have never seen it :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCp7Ec_KgSM Clip from the General Ignorance round Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. January 3, 200719 yr None of these can be real answers because each question has a different interpretation and a different source providing a different answer. the russians are the best! Hands down!
January 3, 200719 yr That's only if you beliefe in evolution. Your 'belief' in evolution doesn't change your physique one way or the other. Oops  . My bad on that type-o. I meant to say believe. Okay I admit it I overlooked that last part that said the nostril on the inside of the body making it able for you to breathe through your nose. But still, would they be considered nostrils on the inside of your body if we never "got them from fish?" January 3, 200719 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c1bJRE6Nl0 First 8 minutes or so of an episode of QI for those that have never seen it :D George Eyser won gold medals in rope climbing and the like, so I fail to see him having one leg is mind-boggling. Mind you the show leaves that part out. The show also says "these runners took poison to run faster!" and everyone is in awe of how that works. Well the "poison" they took to help them run isn't really a poison. It's type of aspirin. "Rat poison" is really just a blood thinner, exactly like the aspirin people take everyday to releave pain. Even now days in high school track runners often take high amounts of common 'drugs' like caffeine or Tylenol to help them run faster without feeling the pain. I know the show is meant to be a joke, but it still seems kind of kiddish to me. It reminds me of a episode of Animaniacs where they run around and make fun of people on a similar concept. Wacko: Hey how much does the moon weigh?! Man dressed as scholar: Why a bit over seven thousand billion billion... Wacko: NOPE! Because if it weighed anything, it would fall on us! *Smashes pie in man's face and runs off laughing idiotically* People's definitions vary from culture to culture and period of time to period of time. The Canadian institute of Science states: Four major continental glaciations are recorded in North America. The last (Wisconsin) began about 70,000 years ago, and ended 10,000 years ago. Oh and here is question that you sould find on QI: Q. How fast is the Earth orbiting the sun? A: It isn't. Scholars from the 900s declared that the earth is stationary. -.- I'm sadly not a fan of those kinds of shows, they seem to spit in the face of real educational television. :/
