What would you do? Hypothetical scenario

So this is a hypothetical scenario, but take time to read the back up story first.

So it all starts around March of 2007, a problem with the Earth (internal/external) (beyond reach or beyond fixability by science and technology) has been discovered. This problem (no, not global warming) is causing huge weather effects, vicious storms, ghastly hurricanes, swarming tornadoes, gargantuan tsunamis (sorry, having a bit of adjective fun). It is predicted that humanity and life on earth will cease to exist in the next 6 years at the rate it is going. The first 3 years will be slower, than it will speed up into the last 3 years. Slowly the weather will increase over the years.

Great Britain was already hit, and the British government is out of resources to contribute to the USA's plan to solve the problem. The majority of Brits have been evacuated to the more safe southern hemisphere, to places like Africa or Australia. Northern Canada also has been hit hard, as well as Northern Russia, Northern Europe, and Scandinavia. These people have also been evacuated to the southern hemisphere, to places like Africa, Australia, or South America, but it's only a matter of time until they're hit as well. Now it is beginning to heavily effect the USA, working it's way around the globe from top to bottom. There are 3 years, left, it will get worse, so what will you do?

*Edit*

Well, the storms would just increase and increase until the planet is basically destroyed or left to rot, but that's more like 15 years later, when the storms will finally begin to cease. Along the way, it is predicted, but not proven, that life would die out due to loss of resources and the increase in storms.

I know its hard question to answer, but have fun. I'm interested in seeing some of the responses.

I would travel the world while I could as much as possible... and help others who needed my help. But mostly I think I'd spend the time with my family. I wouldn't try to stop it because there'd be no point. And anyway as far as I'm concerned the existinction of the human race would be a pretty good thing for this planet.

I would obviously move south to buy me some time.

I would then probably begin to construct an underground bunker, stocking supplies, and gathering people to live there with me.

When the storm come I would head down there for a year or so (you didn't specify if this storm would destroy the planet, or just end after a year or so) and wait for it to blow over. Then with the people in my bunker, repopulate the earth!

What I would do. I would find somewhere where we could build an underground network to stay away from the storm. =D> .

Because, lets face it, it's not going to destroy the earth so I would rather survive.

Surviving 15 years underground would be terribly hard, and there would be some deaths along the way, but it's an interesting idea.

viscous storms

Syrup storms? Storms of molasses? Or is it more of a porridge viscosity? I need to have answers before I can formulate my reply.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to syrup storms. Maple, specifically.

You crampin' my style.

I'd like to...

Swim with dolphins (yeah they'd still be around, for a while i'd imagine)

Scuba dive off the Great Barrier Reef (^^)

Cage dive with sharks (and then probably eat them if we're running outta food)

Skydive (still plenty of sky left, might get blown about a bit by those maple storms)

Gamble in Vegas (i'd gamble everything, nothing to lose now)

Travel 90 knots in a boat (why not?)

See The Who live (done! good job really, don't think there are any tour dates in Africa)

Go to the Glastonbury Festival (it'll be underwater. Bugger)

Own a very fast car (no point now)

Travel the world (...or what's left of it)

Find true love (in a refugee camp)

Raise a happy family (well they won't be happy for long)

In that order?

Why can't it just be proven that life will die out? It's not like this is real - you made it up. What's the point in it being predicted that life will die out instead of just saying "life will die out."

You're really bad at this thought experimenting.

Because, that leaves no room for other options. Plus, in the real world, you would be harassed for saying that, and since it isn't technically (Cad's favorite word) known, you can't just say, it will happen.

BTW I wasn't aware another similar thread existed.

Seeing as how I'm under-age, there are all kinds of "Adult" things I would like to try. I think that explains itself.

I'd spend all my time with friends and family. ;P Maybe experience some things I'd like to do. Y'know. All the jazz.

That's a pretty tough question. I assume, besides the things above, I'd try to lead a normal life still. ;p Gotta love being in the Middle of North America. ;D Hopefully that buys me some time.

Apart from the usual telling people how much I love them, visiting all the places I've ever wanted to see, do all the things I've ever wanted to do...etc. I would print up a whole load of "ViktorKrumm77 rules" t-shirts and distribute them all over the world.
