I don't understand why people assume that animals live and die, contributing nothing to an ecosystem. It's not like they're born and then sit around, waiting to die. The interactions between different animals in an ecosystem keep it running (most of the time) -- humans just destroy things.

It's very warm, and I mean, we eat al ot of the animals that the fur is made from, so why waste the fur?... No reason to waste it. However, if they are killing the animal JUST for the fur, sure, its a sad thing.

Animal fur makes good coats and hats, and I don't want to say no to that! You can also do loads more things with animal fur, like make rugs and blankets. Keeps you nice and warm. :-)

I feel a rant coming on so I'll just stop here I think, except for this - when you kill an animal its dead. Do you think it cares what you do with its constituent parts afterwards? Does it really matter? In the end we either choose to kill animals for our own gain or leave them be. As for endangered species, several thousand square kilometres of rainforest is destroyed every year by loggers, so that we can have coffee tables to put our celebrity autobiographies on. Contained within that forest were hundreds of species of animal that became extinct before we even discovered their existence. The only difference is that none of them (probably) were cuddly.

i see nothing wrong with fur, people complain about people killing small amounts of fur bearing animals while the McDonalds headquarters has a sign that counts how many burgers they served. when i was there it was over 1 billion. its just hippies making noise. oh and i don't own any fur coats (im a guy) but my mom owns like 12. the guy who lives around the block owns the biggest furrier around and at the end of the year has the nicest garage sale ever. lol

Well they don't have to eat us to wear us. Just kill us and skin us. Oh and this is assuming cows also develop opposable thumbs.

I don't think a cow would want to wear human skin, they're cows, not humans, and to the best of our knowledge don't know what revenge is. And they hate anything that gets in the way of their nonstop grass-eating. Besides, human skin is a bit too itchy and doesn't keep you very warm.
