How can we rid the world of terrorism?

Featured Replies

I find it pretty darn funny (or should I say sad?) that there still are people living in civilized(?) worlds on 21st century and speaking like some here are. You rather believe something written hundreds of decades ago, yet not something which is logical and pretty much proven. Sorry, but this seriously reminds me of geocentric vs heliocentric argues. If you want to believe fairytales written over 1 thousand year ago, go ahead. Just don't try to act like it was a fact.

Btw it's funny how christians can't even have one and the same doctrine. Is their so called god so superior that he has to be worshipped in this many ways? IMO religions (this includes also others than all those countless christianities) are the plague of 21st century.

BlueLancer people were in the minority back in the 1400's when they thought the Earth was round. That's not a valid argument.

Edit: And gravity isn't a theory anymore it's proven fact. A proven theory, is a fact, quite unlike your unproven evolutional theory.

Anyway like I did with Warrior, we can agree to disagree, an argument here isn't going to go anywhere positive.

Also, while you're here, you may read James Randi's website and his $1M challenge. http://www.randi.org/ If you can prove creationism is true, you can earn $1M. More useful than posting here, huh? If you believe in it that is. I gave you proof for mine, if you give yours, not only will you be credible but you'll earn a big load of money.

according to your logic a 'proven theory' still isnt fact, because it contains the word theory :|

OT: i beleive religious writings like the bible are the main cause of terrorism. The variation of beliefs from different religions cause unnecessary conflict, resulting in the extremists acting out in the only way they know how.

There is no proof of evolution happening, yet there is proof of events happening in the Bible. Evolution hides behind its "millions and millions" of year clause. Evolution is not logical AT all, it has too many flaws in there "proof" for it to be real. If you want to believe fairy tales about us just happening and oozing from the mud that supposedly happened billions and billions of years ago, then go ahead. Just don't act like it was a fact.

Bluelancer already posted many links of proofs. I haven't seen a convincing source of bible being true yet. Get some sources before you start with your hocuspocus.

Btw, if people are gullible enough to believe creationism, maybe we should launch another theory of a giant Big Mac creating the world? It would be as well proven fact as the bible.

One's belief is one's personal choice. One is NOT gullible, stupid, or anything like that because he/she believes. Do I need to justify what I believe?

No.

I have my reasons for believing. I did not blindly follow a religion. I have gained belief in God through personal experiences. I this a reason to be mocked for? To be attacked for?

No it's not, you have full rights to believe so. But if you want to debate, expect other people to demand proof from you to support your arguments (doughnut for example provided none while I kindly dug up at least 5 links from my bookmarks).

Doughnut: Can you give us some concrete proof that for example, Adam and Eve existed, that there is a heaven or a hell, or a creator at all? Don't just post it here, people are offering millions if you can actually give proof. I'd like to see you try. I gave you mine.

That's what your story sounds like. You're implying biological evolution didn't happen, everything just popped out of nowhere by a 'supernatural God'. I don't know how the universe was created and I don't imply to know. I was talking about evolution. But since you seem to know, I want to see your proof.

You can read up more on scientific observation about the creation of the universe. I'd expect you to since I too have read the Bible.

Its funny how evolution is so sporadic and unreliable.

Tell me, by your logic is God creating man from the dust and woman from man's rib sporadic? Evolution seems a lot more watertight to me.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

You're right I'm talking out my *** and have no real proof to back my belief up.(I'm not the greatest of christians -.- ) Does it hurt my to not believe evolution? No. Can it hurt you to not believe in God? In a sense yes. Because if God is real, then that means you will all go to hell, but if God is not real then nothing happens to me. So either way I am safe. I'll end my post with something my mother brings up when we start a discussion on evolution/chritianity. "Look at lawyers, they'll take the same evidence and use it in completely different ways."

Do you understand that you are kind of mocking the whole population of christians across the world? You are using your religion as a pass into any possible afterlife, as a back-up, just in case. You don't actually believe it from what i'm reading here which comes across as incredibly shallow. And as for your rant above on evolution, here are some facts for you: yes, there is proof, and yes it is logical. Please, try to actually do some research before posting false information.

Is it just me or did I think this thread was about terrorism, and not a religious discussion?

Seriously get back on topic because these pointless (and at some points, mindless) arguments regarding religion are becoming quite repetative and annoying. You're never going to prove to somebody that there is/isn't a god in post so just give it up, peoples views on these matters are deeply entrenched. If you want a religious debate feel free to make a new topic about it.

It's actually an argument more about evolution, but I agree argumets about whose religion is the right one are pointless.

Bluelancer once again you have missed my point. I'm not here to prove anything, neither can my belief of Creationism be proven either (much like evolution), that's where my faith comes into. And personally I couldn't care less what you think about me on my stance concerning evolution and creationism.

I'm just once again stating that a theory is a theory, whether you like it or not. Yes there's evidence for Evolution (more than there is for Creationism) but there still isn't enough for it to be fact. And that's all I stated from the beginning.

And yes I did read over a couple of the links you posted.

Edit: Oh and here's a couple links for you about Creationism. I found the part about the world's statistics and such interesting. It really puts a lot of flaws in the evolution.

http://www.creationevidence.org/scienti ... cefor.html

http://www.allaboutcreation.org/evidenc ... sm-faq.htm

And read about the evidence against evloution especially the part about all cells needing to function with one another, and thus impossible to gradually evolve.

I'm sure you can get enough information out of them, but If you'd like some more evidence than by all means ask for some more links.

I am not using it as a back-up, I believe in God, but IF I were wrong and evolution did happen then nothing happens to me other then that I will eventually die. In my honest opinion it is not logical. Who says my information is false? You're just bias to evolution since that is the only thing you have ever been thought.

I'm hardly biased, I spent 6 years of my life at a Lutheran school. I'm not debating against religion, i'm merely arguing for evolution, which I can hardly see as not being logical. The pure basis of it is that organisms have genetic mutations (this occurs naturally, and is not disputed) which can either benefit of harm the organism (again, this is not disputed). Then, the fittest of the species will have the greater chance of reproducing while the weaker ones will die off or hae a lessened chance of reproducing (I can hardly see why anyone could dispute this). Finally, the beneficial genetic mutation is carried down to the offspring. There you have it, evolution in a nutshell. We have so many diverse species simply because the environments on this planet are many and diverse. It's pure simplicity.

I fail to see how this isn't logical to anyone, although we are all entitled to believe what we want.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This from a site Eelspremiers provided.

If He is the Son of God and He said God created everything, then this is the very best direct evidence for creationism.

It's kind of annoying how you go on about how evolution is a theory and requires evidence, but then you give a site with 'evidence' such as this. I wasn't convinced with generally the whole of the 2 sites you provided. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about evolution, some of which came to mind while going through the information on your sites. there's also a lot of bias out there because (as some zealots think) if evolution is true, then thier whole belief system is shattered. This is not the case for science. If a theory is incorrect, we adjust, we are accountable, we move on to bigger and better things.

Warrior you can be annoyed all you like. I never once said that Creationism is factual, neither is Evolution. And us arguing isn't going to make one bit of difference because your not going to change my opinion and neither am I going to change yours.

Don't worry, i'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. We don't have to argue about it if you don't want.

Goodo'! :)

Time to get this thread back on track...

How do you solve terrorism?

What is the cause of most terrorism in the world today? A culture that embraces, exalts, and rejoices when one of it's members commits an act.

How can this be solved? The culture must be changed.

How can a culture be changed?

Option 1)By changing so many people's hearts and minds at their core basic level that inevitably the culture as we knew it changes into something else.

Option 2)Eliminate the culture by eliminating the source of the opinions that rejoice in terrorist acts. This means death on a huge scale.

It's ugly but it's the truth. I don't really know an option that would actually solve the problem rather than just treat(bribes and concessions for peace) some symptoms temporarily.

Please define us a terrorist. Is it an iraqian who rises his gun towars people who are trying to take over their land or is it an american who tries to take over their land?
