Rs as a second lifestyle

ShinyIsGood

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to hear some other people's opinions about rs being more than just a game to some people. Because, some people, like me, have it more as a second lifestyle. Now, don't get me wrong, RuneScape doesn't control al my waking hours, but I just want to know if alot of people out there feel the same way I do, or if most of you think it's totally wierd.

Runescape is a "second life" to many people. 4 weeks ago, Time released the Person of the Year issue. It included a section about "second life", a RPG that is very realistic, but it will never beat runescape.

I find it very hard to believe that bright cyan armor beats dancing flying phallus's going through famous digital land owners.

Yes. Thats what games do right? Make you do things you could probably never do in real life.

It depends what you mean by a 'second lifestyle'. If, as Nick_6464 just said, it allows you to experience situations out of your ordinary day-to-day lifestyle, then yes, of course. Sometimes, it acts as an 'escape' for me as well. After 2 weeks of stressful exams, I play RS to relax. It's good to know that you can 'succeed' in this game no matter who you are, what level you are, where you come from, etc.

Yup. Yet again, pasta expresses my feelings the same way I would. Anyways, it's really more like showing your real personallity, not the ones that Real life makes you use. :)

For me, RS is literally a second life style. It's just like my real life, only I can't exactly see who I'm talking to. It's cool that people have too judge you for your personality on RS and not your looks. \'

For some people it's a "first lifestyle," not even secondary. I'll read those "how many hours a day do you play rs?" threads and people devote every waking hour they can get to it. They eat, sleep, do mandatory things like school that they're required by law, and play runescape. When out of school, their first life is runescape, followed by necessities required to sustain life basically. It's disgusting but some people have no self control and just get too engrossed.

It's pretty bad if you develop a need to play, i don't play anymore and it wasn't hard to stop. As i didn't enjoy it anymore. People who consider it their second life, or even first should start doing more. It's bad for health and social development.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Some people use Runescape to get away from the world. They use it to be their own person, not necessarily reflecting on how the are in the real world.

As for me, I just use it as a little fun now and then.

sorta yes sorta a no, if I have the option to go a movie with friends or go do something elsewhere that comes first, when I'm at home trying to relax it's a great escape route to freedom and as previously said, a way to experience things I never could in real life. So overall I'd say it;s a 2nd lifestyle when my first one doesn't cross its path

This is where they want I should sign?
