There was mass panic here in the UK too. Since the UK and the US are at a formal allaince, we feared that any second now an attack would happen here. I knew noone there at the time, but it was so unreal, yet true. I remember saying to myself, 'So this is what war is like...'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of course, any suspected simultaneous attack did not come, but the next year we had the 7/11 London bombings, so we did get hit after all. What drives someone to commit this?

Commitment. Those terrorists that were in those planes were devoted to their religion/group, whatever you want to call it. They were willing to die for a cause, not a very good one in most peoples eyes. It was as if they were brainwashed to do anything that their "leader" tells them to.

I had to carpoolhome with a friend that day. I was 10 years old then I think. His mom told us that a plane had crashed into the world market.

 

 

 

I thought some little plane had crashed on a town market somewhere, but when I came home and I saw the whole thing on tv I was pretty shocked.

I was in work that day. As word spread, we all stopped what we were doing and watched the news. I began to wonder whether Canary Wharf would be the next target.

Heh.. Thinking about it, my teacher said, "In 10 years everyone is going to remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard about this. Just like when Kennedy was assassinated."

It happened in the morning, and I was at school. We didn't do much of any schoolwork at all that day. Every class we went into had the TV turned on, and we just watched it all day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was convinced it was the entire South American continent that did it, because I had a dream the night before of thousands of helicopters coming from there and taking over the US. I knew there are a lot of different countries in SA that don't necessarily agree with each other, but that didn't matter. In my dream they all acted together to take over the USA. In my dream there were also a few drug running planes that dropped cocaine over densely populated cities much like crop dusters do to farms :lol: .

I was at school. The teachers wouldn't tell us what was going on, it was like a big secret. But then around 11 or 12 the principle came on the PA system and announced what happened. I was frightened because I really didn't understand what happened (I was only in 4th grade.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Most shops were closed and lots of after school activites were canceled.

I was in school and my parents picked me up from school early and we watched the news all day. when we heard a plane had crashed into the pentagon we were really scared for my aunt worked there at the time. We were all very relieved that night when she called us saying she was alright.

I was sleeping. I live on the west coast, so it was just after 5:00 am that it happened. I woke up around 7:00 tho, and heard that the towers had been hit and collapsed. I also remember hearing something about a car bomb (it wasn't true, just a rumor at a time of panic). It was all anybody talked about at school tho.

I was in 8th grade Home Ec. class and my teacher (literally insane, admits to being institutionalized, slapped a girl once, etc!) was freaking out screaming about World War 3 and stuff. I laughed at her and she gave me detention. I did not go.
