The Dark Lord
I have covered the timespand of days, weeks, or even months inside of a lucid dream. However, usually when I begin to have one, I wake up because it is time to wake up and go to school. Yes, it gives me the feeling of being invinsible, immortal, etc. I really take pleasure in lucid dreams. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. zaquierming
The majority of the lucid dreams I have had involved a tragedy. Whether it be a loss of a parent, or a pet, or something of that nature. I've always been in recognition that it was a dream, but never decided to act upon it but to instead just let the dream enfold. Although, when I awake I still have a sense that what I just dreamed had actually occurred, and I have the worst feeling in the pit of my stomach. Then within a few seconds I'm reassured that it was in fact a dream. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference. speedofsound
I barley remember my dreams and when i do, I am aware that I am dreaming most of the time although I am powerless to do anything. If I could that would be the sweetest thing. Ever. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you." Freshwacka
Once I dreamed I was walking to this store, and I slipped (didn't fall) on the concrete. I immediately woke up and my foot did a "slip-like" action and I felt like I was really slipping. 99 Crafting Blog
Mercifull
Occasionally but not often. Lots of cool things happen in the gap between dreaming and awakeness. Like sleep paralysis :D When you are awake but cant move or speak ^_^ Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. michiel2
I love dreams where you dream you are waking up and going to school, but are really just dreaming. Or my favorite dream, where I dreamed I was sleeping and dreaming, so I was dreaming about going to school. But it was really just a dream, and when I woke up I found out I was still in another dream. So I dreamed that I was dreaming that I went to school. :) :PI have dreamed that my alarm clock went off. I woke up, to put my alarm clock off. Then I realised it was a dream. [/off topic] I already heard about lucid dreaming.. but I've actually never tried it.. but it would be great. At least, I think that.
ctp080188
Uhm I can always control my dreams if that counts, but not fully, I can control what I and others do, but surroundings and situations I only bother changing if I do not like them, otherwise I just carry on regardless of how boring it is. I've had many dreams just waiting for a bus, or trying to cycle on an endless white line. I'll only change them if they make me sad or scared, it's like a rewind button. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED. Korla
Sometimes I know I'm dreaming, but enjoy my dream so much that I try my best to stay asleep.. But I usually end up waking myself up anyway  exactly, is that kinda like lucid dreaming? Cause I am aware I'm sleeping, but I can't control myself to fly or any other cool stuff like killing off entire armies with just a swipe of my left hand. Lucid dreaming is when you have full control over what happens in your dream. I'll describe the one I had here: I was dreaming that I was looking at a brick wall. Then my unconscious self said "hey, I'm dreaming. Don't wake up!" And for the first time ever, I stayed in my dream, but was fully conscious in a sense. Then I said to myself "I'm going to turn around, and there will be a rainforest behind me", this is kind of a reality check. The stage where you first test the waters, to see if you are having a lucid dream. So in my dream, I turned around, and there was a rainforest behind me! "Sweet, I'm in a lucid dream!" I said... and as I walked towards it I woke up :P So they are extremely difficult and rare to have... I'm thinking the majority of people on this thread saying that they have had lucid dreams haven't actually had them.
Bubsa
The only lucid dream I have that I can remember was when the entire world was like Super Mario 3. And I was Mario! \ Did you kill Bowser? Didn't get past world 1 :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Ragen
I'm a regular (ish) Lucid Dreamer. Great site to get you started if you are interested. I normally get them after waking up in the night and going into SP (by just relaxing the body), then allowing myself to be dragged into the dream. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!

I'm thinking the majority of people on this thread saying that they have had lucid dreams haven't actually had them. Well the more severely lucid they get, the harder it is to stay awake. That kind of a dream is fully lucid, but it won't last long. I often have somewhat lucid dreams where I consciously make my own decisions, but if I get too involved and completely realize I'm dreaming I'll gradually wake up as it gets harder and harder to remain in your dream. Markup
I do it whenever I feel like it. Sometimes I get annoyed that I get woken up because the dream was a good one. pault
Survey Response: There is no such thing as normal. As for lucid dreaming, the best technique to achieve the state of consciousness while dreaming is to treat life like a dream and treat going to bed as waking up. If you try hard enough, you can reverse the state of being awake with the state of being asleep, according to PaulT.
Mercifull
For me lucid dreaming only occurs if i wake up during the night for some reason and then drift back into a dream state. i don't think its possible to begin dreaming lucidly? Kinslayer777
Pault, are you describing the stepping technique? I think I've managed that, not lucidically, but merely as sleep. You lie, calm, and simply...walk into dream state. Killer neat :), but I could only manage it once- perhaps a delusional fluke. Apparently, It's also brilliant for lucid dreaming because it creates strong ties to the conscious state- meaning it's easier to identify yourself in the dream- perhaps the moment you enter. Flametrooper
I've had dreams I remember, which are wierd, but not lucid; however, I can remember them in exact detail, as though i had really done it. They tend to be...really realistic, too, at least up to a point, so it feels like real life. Once or twice I've had dreams I could really control...something starts happening and I go, "Okay, control dream...let's take this enemy here and put this dragon longsword in my hand like this, and..." or, when something is going wrong in my dream, i just go, "Okay, skip this, let's go to the next part" and it skips, which is how I avoid nightmares. (...but "it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live"...)
Kinslayer777
Quick Survey, what time doyou normally go to bed? and Do you wait untillyou fall asleep or do you have a special way to get to sleep? ~MAK 9~2am Many a'time I fall asleep by self. Some times i get more stressed out and have a few months with difficulty sleeping. I'm really glad I got Pizzo software, it's nice to fall asleep to. I love sleep, so it was worth it for you. It's not free. They have two trial tracks though, although, the older trial (20min), was alot nicer then the two new trials (15minea), and I can't find the older one. (I've got it on my computer though) Relaxation techniques are great coupled with tracks like those; Edit: I do not look like a computer bot[/bot]

BlueLancer
My worst experience with too realistic dreams (probably others had this problem too.. Physical reactions to dreams) is dreaming about being in this weird, dimly lit place, a bloody floor, called 'Fight Club', there were suspicious people around me and I was punching a punching (boxing) bag hanging from the ceiling. I woke up with immense pain because I also punched the wall next to my bed in real life. Maybe lucid dreams, in an environment with only soft objects, could be fun 8-) Interesting how easily some people seem to achieve that state of mind while sleeping. Must be fun, I've known about this for years but may just as well give it a try.
