Um two things.

Anyone else getting FPS problems? My laptop has been running the game fine for the past few months (albeit on fairly low settings) and in the past two weeks i get random FPS problems where it drops to like 10ish ( was around a comfortable 30). I have a nvidia card, and alot of people who have them on the official WoW forums seem to have the same problem (Funny enough its only with my laptop, my Computer runs it fine on full graphics).

Also, I'm 45 now, and cant wait to get to outland. Anyone recommend me a way to level fast (no leveling guides please lol) (hoard btw.).

Outlands SUCKS, way too scifi-ish, trust me pre-bc zones are the best. (Nagrand isn't bad though).

Also the instances are just a long annoying hallway, and heroics are just the devs being lazy.

Well ive been there before when I tried the PTR as a lve 70, and i loved it. I love the sci fi feel. I've never done any raids either, so it will be interesting whether or not higher level players like them or not.

Argh, raging at the Dath'Remar servers atm. Everyone there is a lazy bastard who doesn't want to run instances with me. XD

Is it common to have to wait half-hour to an hour for an instance group for 40ish instances? I would've thought I was on in the peak hours (After school, weekends).

its not uncommon to have to wait ages.

did anybody watch the MLG arena tourney? Those last couple of matches were incredibly tight. And I really was rooting for nihilum since 2 of their 3 players came from my server originally.

I watched it not expecting much and i was pleasently surprised. It reassured my faith that drain teams can work really well(being that i played in one on my priest) and that arena can get seriousley complex, and i want to get my gnome warrior to 70 asap to try some things out.

Haha, went into Badlands today to see if there was any worthwhile quests there, and it's just a big. Freaking. Desert. I was kinda disappointed, since there's only a couple quest places in the whole area (Martek's, place near Hammertoe's Digsite, outside Kargath) and the rest is just barren land. Filled with wolves. Uldaman is pretty fun, though.

Haven't been paying much attention to WoW lately, exams and stuff, so I've just dinged 44 now.

Ugh, I absolutely HATED Uldaman. I couldn't stand the place. I didn't like the graphics and it was too maze-like and confusing. My favourite instance will always be the Deadmines.

I liked Zul-Farrak a lot though. That was a fun instance, along with Scarlet Monastery. SM was better out of the two, actually.

Being immature is a part of being mature.

Dinged 70 on my warlock last night, then bought my flying mount.

Oh man. After training skills, I was left with a whole 24s to my name. Two hours of regular questing in Netherstorm, and I now have 250g again.

Dinged 45 in The Hinterlands, easy quests there with good exp, 6-7k a pop. Already more then halfway to 46. Really need to start doing some instances and getting some better gear, Quest Greens ftl. Though I can never find a group. I probably need to find a more active clan, because hardly anyone is ever on in mine.

Back into the swing of things now. Did a run of MgT just to see what it was like and picked up the epic healing ring with the epic red socket. Amazing combination.

Mounts are now available at level 30, and it only costs 35 gold to grab the Apprentice Riding skill. You have to figure this is purely designed to keep players intersted in alts before the expansion.

It's so [bleep]ing obvious that blizzard is trying to keep people in the game by giving them as much free goodies as possible so they don't migrate to other, better, games.

pfft.. AoC looks better by comparison every day. I love this game, but goddam blizzard is casualising (made up word! YAY!) it more and more with every patch.

Seriously though, my rogue had 90g by level 30 and like 150g by 40... just through mining/skinning. And that was without spending any sort of extra time just tradeskilling.

But when the majority doesn't know a thing about making gold, this is what happens. And you better believe it that Blizzard will be catering to the casual.

once I get my new laptop in september I'm gonna have to choose which game to start up, because at this rate WoW wont keep my attention for that much longer, and the only thing stopping me from playing newer games is the fact that my PC is practically dead.

Tk5SF.png

Ah what a load of [cabbage], you guys really think people are going to care if they get a mount at 30 or 40? It's like 3 days of extra playing.

AoC is going to get nerfed to all hell and become a white elephant game just like SWG. Mark my words.

its not so much the 40 to 30 bit that annoys me, its the fact that it costs 39 gold for a mount and lessons now.

Its entirely possible, and pretty easy, to have the money for a 40 mount as soon as you ding 40.

the 40 to 30 change is just to speed up the levelling process so people can get to the new content faster I guess, it wont affect those who are already 70, and if you want to get an alt up, 1-70 would be a huge pain if they hadn't implemented the exp changes and such.

Sorry biox, but that's spoken like a true fanboy. If you don't think that reducing a mount cost from 90g to 35g is a big deal, it's esentially Blizzard giving more easy-mode stuff to the playerbase.

And any basis for thinking that about AoC? Funcom is not stupid and are talented developers. The only problem with SWG was that Lucas Arts was really pushing for the game to be like WoW, so SoE rushed out and completly did a 180 change.

Funcom has stated numerous, numerous times that they are not striving to be "the next WoW" and are creating a game based off of their vision. They wouldn't do something that stupid.

Seriously though? Between WAR (which I think will suck, but still) and Age of Conan (will have its expansion pack + tons of updates out) WoTLK will have a tough time. This is blizzards way of at least keeping the casuals.

All I am is saying is have fun when in Lich King they end up making the epic mount cost 200g and take level 50 to use, or give out who knows what epics to everyone for little or no effort at all.

35g? That means my new lvl 16 hunter (horde, pvp realm, arent you proud of me nad ;)) has his mount money already having done nothing more than casually mine and skin.

When my new pc comes i really will be torn between the two games...

What the hell crawled up your [wagon]? I see no issue in letting people have mounts at level 30. Most people wont have 90g at level 30 to buy a mount because unless you have two gathering professions, chances are you wont have access to anything of decent value to sell at 30.

Anything to make leveling easier is an improvement. Once the level cap is raised again to 80, most people are going to have a tough choice in whether they want to reroll or level their toons from 70-80. Leveling 1-60 I can do in about 5-6 days played. 60-70 is another ~3 days. 70-80 Will probably take 4 days on your first time through so it's a lot of time played just to spend leveling.

The issue isn't about making the game easier for casuals. Leveling affects everybody and anyway they can make it faster is an improvement for everyone.

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.

I wish i could have put it aswell so ill qoute. It seems like AOC adopters are just looking for every single reason to criticize wow but in the scale of things this can only be a good thing to all players. Its as if they want the fact they have a mount to be unique but it just aint, as time goes by achievements diminish like downing ragnaros. You can enjoy the hardcore exclusivety of AOC but do you think funcom actually wants AOC to be strictly hardcore? If so youre naieve

You only need one gathering profession, it's not hard. Pick up mining or something = easy money.

Also I don't care about them getting the mount at 30, whatever, thats fine. What I do care about is how they so drastically lowered the price. Making it so that its easier to reroll is fine, this is just stupid.

I never said that it is hardcore, however they are catering to a specific audience and not just trying to be another WoW.

The AoC vs WoW doesn't even matter really, because I don't want WoW's general population coming over. But I still think it's a stupid change by Blizzard in an ever ending quest to just make the game easier and easier.

e: I could totally mess with this thread if I wanted to. *giggles*

I think where arguing over symantics, we all know that blizzard is catering to casuals but it doenst necessarily make the game easier, most of the player base peaters out at around level 20 when youre getting out of the newbie zones but this change helps everyone even the hardest core leveling up alts in a few days played because there raid team needs a resto shaman to spam chain heal on bruttalus :-#

oh the preparations for WOTLK, exhorbanant amount of upgrades designed to suck away youre gold, all i can say is dont buy any of it because you will simply get cheap upgrades in the new expansion and blizzard doenst want everyone going in with a few 1000 gold in there pockets.

I haven't played it, from what I have been told, the combat system is so intricate and complicated that anyone with even a smidge of latency issues will fail miserably at it.

Essentially, it means that only Europe and the US will be able to play it, with the rest of the world living in broadband poverty (thanks, Australian governments, for providing us with awful, awful infrastructure).

So yeah, that's my reasoning. I think that they will crumble under the pressure and nerf it, make it easier, and open the market up to the rest of the world.

It seems like AOC adopters are just looking for every single reason to criticize wow..

No kiddin'! I hadn't noticed!

Ah, elitism. Lovely.

I can't wait until the *chans start doing spam-raids on your precious little game.
