I can see where he's coming from. To me a male as a healer just doesn't seem fitting. Must be my ages of FF playing to make me think healer=female.

A well geared rogue versus a well geared warlock is a good fight to see. The things you mentioned for the warrior and hunter are easy, just one thing to do and they're pretty good. I mean a warrior can break out of fear I don't know how many times and will just pummel the lock to death.

No, really, warrior hunter it's about gear. They're immune to my CC's and CC's is the only defense I have except high stamina, so it becomes a question of outlasting (unless they screw up, in case it's not a question about outlasting, but a question of Don't Do That Foo'). A rogue that does a full stunlock + CloS + WotF can basically have me down to 20-40% before I get a single hit in, at which point outlasting becomes moot, because I have to no way to get him off me. Gear wise, the rogue is much more forgiving than hunter/warrior, because all he needs is the DPS to tear me to pieces during the initial stunlock; The hunter and the warrior needs the resilience/HP to stand up for as long as it takes them to kill me. Rogue just needs his abilities.

You shouldn't be down to 20-40% hp (maybe 40% I could understand but not 20) from a stunlock, especially if you trinket the kidney shot or something.

I'm not saying gear doesn't matter - gear does matter in WoW - but if you grab 10 warriors, 10 hunters and 10 rogues all with varying degree of gear and put them up against the same decently geared warlock, assuming they all play properly, more rogues are going to win than warriors/hunters. A warrior/hunter with perfect execution of the kill strategy will trip up on gear a lot more than a rogue doing the same thing.

^ I'm talking about top gear only, not a mix of gears. Sorry if it was confusing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways patch 2.3.2 is out. It's somewhat funny, really, almost every rogue I see is some variation of shadowstep. Honestly I never thought I'd see the day -- haha.

 

 

 

At any rate I'm giving it a try just because I have a ton of extra gold after buying my flying mount. (1600g left over after spending 900g on a mount). If it turns out I really like the spec it'll be a little annoying respecing between it and combat maces. Really the only thing I think I'll really miss are my mace stuns atm, lol.

I dont know a proper reason.. but i'd suspect

 

 

 

a) A lot of the people in the top guilds went off to university and stopped playing (I knew quite a few who did personally)

 

B) People got bored of raiding the same thing over and over

 

c) It was kind of accepted realm-wide that the 2 best guilds were the only 2 that could get hyjal and BT done, and the lower ones were just stepping stones on the way up.. and when they fell.. theres nothing to shoot for anymore.

 

I know they both downed illidan pretty soon after BT was released, and no other guilds (maybe 1 im not sure) are even remotely close, and most are at the "we cant kill kael / vashj" stage.

 

 

 

the horde PvE side is still well and truly booming however, I wonder why it happened to one faction only.

Playing on my pally has just gotten boring. It was fun getting him to around 47 or 48, and completely owning in BG's, but it just isn't fun playing him anymore. No one would believe that I could out-dps a rouge in Instances so I couldn't get in as DPS, and i wasn't prot specced which made tanking hard. I had invested in a healing set just so that I could do some BRD and such, but even with that I wasnt a great healer. So, I spent some gold, and respecced (20g, I've tried out all the specs =]) to holy. I am a great healer IMO healing about 1600 - 2000 normal, and 2000 - 2600 crits with holy light at 53. I just hate healing. That is why after i finish my BE rouge twink, I'm rerolling as a mage.

I think it's a sign of a bad group when two members fall off the bridge on the way towards the instance portal... and one member doesn't know what to hit (need or greed) on every, single green that drops. Oh, and the other member refuses to give me Blessing of Wisdom but has no problem giving it to the tank.

Yeah I actually posted about the crap gear before my kara run last night, biox. I ended up getting 5 upgrades that night!

I'm leveling a Draenei priest (Lock was too easy, paladin was too hard plus I'm bored with humans.) And I've heard people talking about "Melting Faces". I asked my friend what that meant (on IM, he's on a UK server) and he said "It's what shadow priests do". I'm confused as hell. Thottbot mentions nothing about face melting.
