EDIT: Well I managed to go from 13-17 today on my hunter, oretty much putting everything into beast mastery. So heres some questions. My friend says dont bother with armor from vendors, he said go to Deadmines and theres some pretty good leather armor there. Should I just get most my stuff from quests and dungeons? Also, being about level 17, where should I quest? I did most of the quest in Dark Shore and alot in Westfall, so idrk where to go now.

 

For 17, I'd say Redridge Mountains or Loch Modan, after finishing off any of the quests in Westfall/Darkshore you can find. And your friends right, most of the armour from vendors is Common junk and the AH is usually way overpriced. Quests and dungeons is where it's at.

 

@Jaziek, same thing happened to me. Came back after a couple of months break to find my account with an authenticator and no characters. D: Got the Authenticator off and the characters back (never got the gear back) and then decided to restart when Cataclysm comes out, if I decide to play again.

Turn out my gmail address had been compromised.

 

Checked the login history and saw that it had been used in china a couple of days ago..

Keylogged by even simple ads these days. You dont even have to click anything to get keylogged.

 

Also if you use that email for more than just your bnet account, hack risk skyrockets up. I learned this the hard way :s

Im starting to consider some I guess you call them add-ons? My friend mentioned like Carbonite or Bartender I think. Should I get any of these things? And looking at some hunter videos people tipped me to watch, everything looks so complicated -_- Lmao all ik is that im a BM hunter.

Dl'd an addon, got dc'd from the game. Tried to log back in, invalid pass word. Changed pass word, 3 hour suspension for real world item trading.

I log back in, I have 3 new level one characters. Woo.

Northrend would be the fastest exp for you at the moment. Though Outlands quests have more substance to them story-wise than Northrend, but Northrend is twice as fast imo.

Just resubscribed. Looking at getting the last of my argent tourney mounts as well as the two from ZG and one from Strath. Don't think I'll be raiding this time round though, maybe only the ones <tourney. Got my priest to 70 and am still enjoying it, bit of a change from being straight dps on my hunter.

Plan today: Do some DM quest, do DM, then quest in Redridge:D and try to get my mount

Just pugged ToC25 and 1-shotted the whole instance... not one wipe... Best pug ever... Only bad thing is, no drops for me :<

Does anybody here have any tips on playing a PvE Holy Paladin? A friend recently let me take over his account since he won't be able to play for several months, and I'm going to be working on gearing it and raiding with it. The toon itself is currently in full 251 and 264 gear, properly gemmed and enchanted. I have several friends who play Holy Paladins and are going to help me out, but does anyone here have any tips/rotations/etc that they can offer? Specifically for ICC raiding.

 

The current spec is the 51/5/15 Holy and Glyphing Seal of Wisdom, Holy Light, and Beacon of Light (may swap this one out for Flash of Light). Minor Glyphs Blessing of Wisdom, Blessing of Kings, Lay on Hands.

Glyph Seal of Light (You heal for 5% more when Seal of Light is active). I used to toy with my healing spec. You'll mostly be using FoL.

 

Also, any Spellpower trinkets and Avenging Wrath should be reserved for when/if you need to use Divine Plea

 

Useful Macro

 

/cast [target=focus] lay on hands

 

Main tank should be your focus. As your Sacred shield and Beacon of Light will be changing targets thoughout a fight, I left out the focus macro's for them. Fights where no one really takes much damage, feel free to use the macro's lol.

 

Lay on Hands should always be reserved for the tank though.

A friend recently let me take over his account since he won't be able to play for several months, and I'm going to be working on gearing it and raiding with it. I have several friends who play Holy Paladins and are going to help me out, but does anyone here have any tips/rotations/etc that they can offer? Specifically for ICC raiding.

You'll rarely use Flash of Light, so keep the Beacon of Light glyph.

 

Keep Seal of Wisdom up, Judge Light whenever you can, melee the boss/mob whenever there's a lull in heals for mana.

 

Not sure what it's like now, but Holy with a Prot subspec was the best choice when I played, not sure if Ruby Sanctum changes made anything different. Pretty sure I went far enough up to grab DivSac and the DivGuardian talent. So yeah, my advice on talents isn't the best, but everything else should be solid. And by proper gemming you mean full int + the meta activator?

 

Unless it's a Flash of Light centred build (AHAHAHA), then pretty much all the above advice is silly.

 

It's actually a toss-up between whether the Divinity (the mana back on LoH when you cast it on yourself) with a Talented and Glyphed Lay On Hands saves more mana than the Beacon Glyph, but the Beacon's usually a better pick because you'll get LoH as a panic button. Divine Plea with your trinkets, if you have T10, the bonus will turn your Divine Illumination into another panic button, or something to even out the Divine Plea deficiency. Let the other healers/tank know when you're going to DP, so they can bust a cooldown if needed. That should be all.

 

Also, you should be using the Heroism badge Libram. I'm pretty sure everything else is comparatively terrible.

FoL pallies beat out Holy Pallies any day. Our main pally healer can solo heal Saurfang with just FoL (Our priest died) Never underestimate the power of FoL >:)

I'm not underestimating it, Holy Light is just better on average.

 

Maybe if you were running with two Holy Paladins, a FoL build would be a tiny bit more useful.

 

And of course it's useful with Ret Paladins. But that's irrelevant.

Was just speaking from experience. Holy Light Pallies are good main tank healers I guess, but I have yet to see our pally spam HL...its always FoL O_o He'll use HL as an emergency heal if a tank gets too low by some odd means.

Picked up some nice stuff from DM and rewards from all the DM quest. Level 19 now, one more level until I finally get my mount:D

I've been using FoL and HS, with HoL as an emergency heal. Also specced into Divine Guardian for a "raid wall" sort of spec, works beautifully on some fights. I healed 9/12 HMs and then full clear in my guild 10 man run (our regular Holy Pally has a 6k Warlock, so the switch worked out perfectly) and 7/12 (first 6 and Val) in a pug 25 man, so now its just an issue of getting gear. Also got Belt of the Lonely Noble off the first trash pull in that pug woop woop.

Finally installed the game to give the trial a look for the first time, I'm having trouble though. Once I install it and go into the game, sign into my created account etc, it updates and I have to restart the game, but instead of reloading the game it reloads it as if it's not installed, with a window saying 'You need to be an administrator to install this game' or something along those lines. Then if I reload the game manually, I'm stuck in this continuous loop. What should I do?

You need to have administrator permissions for the game's installer to do its thing. If you happen to use Vista this page might be helpful. If not you could always look around some more on Blizz' tech support site.

Yeah seems so haha, I wanted to try Guild Wars also now I have a good graphics card, yet there I had problems too. But that is a question for another thread, not my day today :(

I spent 2 months on it :( I have another wow account which I have level 15 blood elve hunter. I like being a hunter, but I can't get used to it. I am going to make a Tauren pally when Cataclysm comes out.

 

Also, I spent 49 minutes on hold before I got through. Also, I used 300-350 of my mom's cellphone minutes trying to get in contact with blizzard support. Each call used up two minutes :/.

I've got a 65 Human Paladin I've been playing on for about two months now, enjoying the game especially as I have some RL friends that are around the same level which is cool. Questing in Zangermarsh at the moment. :thumbup:
