I know WoW runs, you missed my edit by a second

still need me to dig up specs? I'm certain WoW runs flawlessly from experience.

If you can run WoW comfortably than, yes, you can run TBC.

Off topic: how much WoW costs:

Mouth

Year

??

Mouth? Per month it roughly equates out to $15.00, with discounts being made if you order more than one month at a time.

I personally do it one month at a time, no use for me to end up quitting and having 2 months left of play.

World of Warcraft PTR Patch 2.2.0

The latest patch notes can always be found at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html

General

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Resilience Rating: The reduction to the percent chance to get a critical strike now also reduces the damage dealt by damage over time effects by the same percentage.

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Corrected the damage modifier calculation for Resilience when the attacker has bonus critical strike damage.

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Power Regeneration: Any effect which triggers a change in your rate of power regeneration (Mana, Rage, Energy, Focus) will now cause an immediate reward of some power at the old rate of increase, and then begin new ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åticks̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

:? Not happy about taking away multi targets from tangle. Was really good for that.

That's quite a significant patch.

I'm glad their making the AQ enchants easier to get now that nobody runs AQ anymore.

I think we have only 2 or 3 people on my realm who could do most of the enchants one quit a few weeks ago. Good timing.

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.

A few interesting things coming up in 2.2..

Good thing they've fixed the stealth pet-chase bug thing - a guildy of mine was heard to whine about that on a daily basis.

̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Formula: Enchant Cloak - Subtlety: This enchanting recipe is now available from the Thrallmar Quartermaster and Honor Hold Quartermaster. The reagents required have been adjusted to match the level 70 content.

About time, Jesus Christ.

Thats a pretty big nerf to mages. From 50 secs 10 secs in pvp...ouch. IT was nice when we could poly, bandage, pyro all in one.

BTW, would this work: combustion poly pyro fblast (inta cast) PoM pyro Blastwave fireblast...etc.

Polymorph only lasted some 12 seconds in PvP to begin with.

We zoned into Gruul's Lair tonight to give it a go - at the very least to test ourselves out as a unit and to learn the fights.

For the most part, raid discipline was good. We had a few false-starts and some random disconnections causing unnecessary pulls, but on the whole it was ok.

We managed to get the Priest down twice and had begun on the next target but too much was happening, too many key raid members were dropping too fast and it wasn't working out. After 2 and a half hours of trying we decided to pack it up and try again next week.

Little screeny here of us on our first zone-in. Scary Ogres..

Woot 30 minute buffs for pallys I can't wait!!! Patch 2.2 looks very nice =P~. Oh ya there is something wrong with my wow client im clicking play and then it goes to load and then it all minimizes andw ehn i try to restore it just shrinks again... I don't know whats happening with that lol. Any suggestions or is it them just installing the new patch?

After tripping into the Music, Movies & Television forum now that they've moved it, while having a "PvP loop" running in the background, I started wondering what other people listen to while playing WoW - or do you just settle for the in-game sound (Some of the in-game music is quite good, Stormwind's theme and the Naxx music being prime examples)?

Personally, it depends on what I'm doing. If it's PvP it's usually some screaming metal or something with a beat to keep my pulse high. In PvE it usually depends on what I assosciate with whatever we're doing; For example, some guy known to run a disco on the background whenever he plays looped Fatboi Slim's Right Here, Right Now for 7 hours during our first Nef kill, so while we were still doing BWL it turned into a theme song of sorts. A Tiesto remix of the Pirates of the Carribean theme ended up getting a lot of looping in Naxx, after I saw it on a video for Instructor Raz

How about the rest of you guys?

-This message was deviously brought to you by: mischief1at.gif

Depends. PVE I dont care, i just listen to anything. During PVP generally fast pasted stuff, but usaly i listen to the game music cause with my own music i tend to not pay attention as much. With instances though, i usually play FF music, and have it on a list so i can switch the song to something that fits the mood.

Usually just whats on my playlist at the time (random).

During a raid though I don't have any music on so I can listen better.

I'm usually on Vent, talking and laughing, haha.

Winamp on random. The gun firing sound puts my shot rotation off too much. Plus most of the music sucks. Only thing I miss out on is the sound when I've found a rogue stealthing around me. Even with sound it's usually too late.

Think I'm gonna stay off the WoW forums for a while, till I've finished reading Harry Potter anyway. :wall: It comes out in a week or something and there's already people making false claims about it.

Thats probably a good idea. :P

My 3v3 team did some of our first matches for S2 today (finally). It was me, a feral druid and a SL lock. Ended up going 11-5 and stopping at a 1573 rating for the day. I think we can get up to 1700+ with our current gear.

We even beat some warrior/paladin/x teams which are really tough. Our combo is a bit odd but it works out well. me and the druid burst down a target while the lock just backup DPS's and usually keeps targets CC'd.

My 2v2 is doing ok but we got a huge slump recently, got owned by a ton of tough combos. We ended up going up against a rogue/ice mage combo tonight, that was fun. The mage and rogue really hit us hard and I ended up deadly throw > Vanish > kill mage. I went back to stealth at about 1.5k hp and noticed that my druid partner was about dead. As I went to help him out the rogue finished him off.

By that time I was at 30% hp and the enemy rogue was at 98%. He went into stealth so I started to look.

We ended up seeing each other at the exact same time and both cheap shotted each other instantly. I had one up on him though when he used a rupture on me while I gouged him. Went behind, Mutilate > Kidney shot > CB Mutilate. He than popped evasion at 2k hp (I had 800) and I popped evasion as well. Managed to evis for a little bit of damage and mutilate crit him for around 1.5k hp to win the fight.

:D I respec'd mut combat btw. Trying to arena as a combat daggers build is SUCKY.

  • Author

Netherspite and Nightbane down, we now have kara on farm mode. 8-)

Combat mutilate worked better than I expected, I easily got #1 damage both fights. Also got my Cowl of Defiance from him. :)

Whats a better spec:

combustion poly pyro fblast (inta cast) PoM pyro Blastwave fireblast...etc.

or

Freeze ice lance ice lance etc. with a 50% more to crit and crits being like 2x what they normally are and more powerful (because forzen)

For instances a deep fire is liked.

PvP wise POM Pyro is fun for 2v2's, I like frost a lot better for it though.

Having a bit of fun with my frost mage 30 mins ago.

Me (45) versus a warrior (61). I'm in crappy greens and a few blues, he has outland greens and a nice blue 2H sword (MS).

The first few duels sucked. I either got 1 shot or got him to like 90%.

On the 5th duel or so I came up with the idea to iceblock right after the countdown. What happened is I ice blocked right as he charged me. :P . I ended up just using an instant on him afterwards though to put him in combat.

The last fight was my best one yet. I started off the fight with a fire blast to get him in stealth, and I did all of my stuff. I found out that when a warrior intercepts you you can actually blink out before you take any damage which was huge versus this guy. I kept kiting him around, used a mana gem and continued it. It mostly was a mixture of ice bolt + CoC + Fire blast spam with frost novas in there. I kept up my ice barrier as well.

Well I was getting low (150 mana left) so I tried to frost nova him so I could evocate. The root resisted and he smacked my while I was getting mana. I tried to blink and slow him again but was out of mana, and he got me.

However he was at 55% hp left meaning that I had nearly gotten a lvl 61 warrior down to half HP without using either of my iceblocks. The only limiting factor really was my mana (which sucks [wagon] right now).

The guy even complimented me and said I was a good mage. I took that pretty well because I haven't been playing that character for the long time. Either way if I get another to 70 it'll be that, I'll probably AoE with it with a friends shaman he is leveling up once it gets closer to my level.

Also I almost beat a 60 rogue in STV the other day. She had to vanish > Prep > vanish and down a HP pot to beat me... which is sad because she can 1 shot me lol.

Either way I can't wait to get it up higher and have some fun with the arena. I love my rogue in both the arena and PvE (even though we have some glaring issues higher up in 5v5, and to a lesser extent 2v2/3v3) its still a lot of fun. Playing as a mutilate build now with actual decent gear is a lot better than playing as a scrub in blues.

As far as the mage goes I've seen mages QQ about resiliance but I don't see it hurting the class that much, as its based much more off of survivability than damage. (frost). You have your burst with shatter combos but its a much more survival build. Hell, even the shatter combos I see really hurt (2.5k frost bolt + 1.5k ice lance). Arena wise too having 2x IB's and 2x Water elementals is simply insane.

Sorry 'bout the long post, had to get some of that out of my head.

It's k nad, I love your posts even though I don't know what tons of the stuff you talk about means. I'm just a newbie in STV haha.

edit::meh not a newbie in stv, im a newbie with nowehere to go. I higherlevel guildie wanted to come down and help me with a few tough quests mainly because he recently picked up herb. So I gained a level and finished all my current STV quests and I'm almost 36. ALL my STV quests are way to red for me and my Hammerfall quests are all red and group quests so im in a jiffy (heh)...

where to go??? i just need to get from 35-38/39ish
