Severation
Very much agreed. I'd like to add some points to your list. - Area Guides!! - These guides spoil exploring! I remember when I got lost in the woods between Draynor and Lumbridge. It was fun. I could wander huge distances (to Rimmington) and start Quests. When I saw the world map and learnt about Member's I dreamt of getting to the islands located so far away - Miscellania and Etceteria. Now everyone can read everything about every place (well not every, but many) in RS. There's no point in exploring anymore, you can read everything available in the Area Guides. I don't read them, I actually boycott them, but the one reading them loses so much... - Lumbridge Tutors - Teaches you everything you need to know to get far. Tutorial Island would have been enough... - Home Port - The ones that call themselves 'new players' don't use this! The only ones that are are high-lvl's to save time and get themselves out of challenging situations. Desert-effect doesn't exist, Entrana Dungeon-effect doesn't exist etc. Very frustrating. (made it smaller to take up less space.) I agree, it's just taking away the excitement of exploring and discovering new things. What I don't understand is, one of the biggest teachers is the world map, which has been there ever since i've started playing. Definitely longer than that. Rebdragon
Well, when I first aspired to get 94 Mage and Barrage those with the ability to cast the spell were quite scarce, making the ability respectable. By the time I got it it was worthless to call yourself a Barrager, seeing as how everyone and they're moms could do it by then. -Devoted12-
To tell you the truth, the game has gotten way easier. If I remember right, I don't think there even was a world map during RSC... I think I remember getting lost, exploring, and finding out I was only in the desert like 10 steps away from lumbridge. That's half the excitement. That is not an option anymore because of soo many updates...

Celluzion
I don't know how people can get lost, really. Even in RSC, there were signs telling you where the next town was. Whenever I was unsure where I was, I used the signs. Even then, there was a world map. However, in almost every aspect, the game has become much easier. Prayer was the last 99 that anyone achieved, look at how many people have 99 prayer now. More ways to collect herbs = cheaper herbs = "Easier" to level herblore. Cook-x, fletch-x. So many more ways I could list down, but that'll take forever. Known formerly as Ameoba3000. Now known as Vigoss.

latin14
Ah, yes it has. It was made easy by Jagex, now people use it as an alternative to life. They think that since they have a d chain that there life is complete, so jagex made it easy to make gp. we were given this privledge to get easy exp, everything has a cost. JeremyM
I find things like wcing, mining, and fishing harder in RS2 than in RSC because you can only hold a full inventory, in RSC it would drop to the ground, getting you great exp [Admin Edit: Attempting to publicly humiliate a user in your signature is inappropriate] Quit Runescape... bigfatleaf
1. Dragon armor has decreased significantly in price, due to RS being overpopulated and due to better, easier to get armor being released. 2. I agree with this one. Pest control is absurd and should be changed. 3. I don't think construction is to blame. It's most likely the rare market. Rares have risen to ridiculous prices, and all merchants had to do to get rich is buy a rare, let it sit in their bank for a few months, and then sell it when it's value has increased by millions. All you new RS players do realize that phats used to be worthless, right? and for a LONG time they were only a few million. If I had invested in phats when they were a few million, i'd be a billionare right now.
icedearth06
Yeah, I agree. RS has gotten a easier as the time passed. I remember in RSC when I literaly almost had no clue what to do, where to do it, and how. Although, making it easier makes it more understandable. I found that RS2 when it came out was extremely helpful and I could interpret things a little easier. More Tip.it Friends Needed! Feel Free To Add Me\m/ Tip.it's Biggest Metalhead. Pandaman115
Well i think that runescape is still fun. Although it has gotten alot easier. Here are reasons why i think so. 1. I remember when i only used to see level 100+ with full dragon now i see lvl 70+ with full dragon more than the 100s 2. Ok this one might create a little anger but.... I think that it is way way to easy to raise combat skills now. all you have to do i go do pest control for a 3 weeks from 80 mage and boom you got 94! Dont get me wrong i love pest control but i think that we have to many high levels running around. 3. Since the construction skill came out it lowered the price of everything extremly. Now you see very low levels running around with things that level 100s had a challenge of getting. Anyway just some stuff i think has made the game a little to easy for us all. We need more challenge. Please do not shout anger in the ears of the people reading this. Thankyou 1. Ever hear of merchants? Besides, I don't get why people who are lvl 70-80 "shouldn't have full dragon". That's idiotic. They could be skillers. (such as uular, tallest, and so on). 2. Pest Control Sucks. Ever try getting a good world these days? It's hard. VERY hard. Then it changes. Way to take information from months ago. 3. This goes in with number 1. Why shouldn't they have it? They worked for it. They deserve it. It's not a matter of combat level. It's a matter of time, patience, and skill. Hevendor_Guy
*looks at title* *looks at stats* *notices Pest Control comment* Hypocrite. Everything Panda said pretty much sums up what I think  Anyone can have any item if they work for it, screw you if you're jealous of them. Pest Control sucks. Only stat I raise there is prayer, and that's only because I don't feel like dumping cash into the skill and I don't have to sacrifice Hitpoints xp for it, unlike raising any other stat there (except hitpoints, obviously). Quit whining, RS is how it is, get used to it. There's cake through here, apparently.
Poopingman
Since I first ventured in Runescape back in early 2001, I have to agree with many that the game has become much easier. A good example is the significantly deteriorating maturity of your average player. Given any level, you find more and more "idiots" than in the past. Simply put, reaching any level or point in RS has become easier. This is partly to blame for how big the game has gotten, with how many people are playing, they're just bound to find ways to get around the system a little easier. Regardless, difficulty wise, the game IS NOT what it used to be. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....

D-scim was just a dream and whip wasn't even thought of... its become alot easier to train not just because of mini-games but because of stronger weapons... Icingdeath
I never knew that combat level affected your ability to make money. Apparently that's how it is now? I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
