greenslime89
Have you ever had a major turning point in your life, such as starting something new, or even an illness that affected you in someway? It doesn't have to be a good thing, like giving something up. Think about that, then think what you would be if it had happened differently. I've had a few. The most recent would be quitting RuneScape (this isn't about RuneScape, but this is my example) I'll admit it. I was an addict. I played long into the night, most nights and I only got a couple of hours sleep each night because of it. After my parents caught me several times they disconnected my computer socket so they could control when the computer was on. My grades were very poor and after they realised I had devised a way of getting online and playing they took the internet out of my room and that was it. This was over a year ago and since then, I have enjoyed life more, taken up a few more sports, I'm a bit fitter and my grades are great - eight top credit grades out of eight! Had I continued to play RuneScape, I would have continued to get lower and lower grades, shutting doors to my future. Looking back at that time, I realise how stupid I was, thinking of my pleasure in the short term, not caring about later life. I have to thank my parents for taking action, there must have been times when it seemed easier to let me do what I want and ruin my life. Do you have any major events that you can remember that helped make you the person you are today? Please don't dwell on my RuneScape addiction!  Photos! greenslime89
Your title 'what if....' has nothing to do with your topic lol It does. You think What if... that had happened differently. If you still don't think it fits the topic, what would you suggest the title be changed to? Also, don't you have something related to the topic to post? It would be nice if you did :) Photos! The_Dragon_Reborn
I quit for a while, and started to get better grades, and do other things. Then there was nothing else to do, so I came back. I can quit, I swear! I just don't wanna! :anxious: ~~Let The Dragon ride again, on the winds of time~~I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet. Celt23
It's not that addictive. I hardly play anymore. I'm glad I did all that work in runescape because it gave me ground hard knowledge that you need to work hard to accomplish goals ect.
Bubsa
What if...? is the most dangerous question I know. It's the question that cannot be answered and can drive you mad. anonimu
My depression... I mean what if I hadn't gotten depressed? I would have worked so much more, known way less random useless facts, been much worse at random useless games, gotten 99%'s instead of 90%'s, lived not thinking about how random, useless, and stupid life is, etc... Losers...Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious. Icingdeath
When my dad got cancer, they said it had spread so far that he was damn lucky they caught it early enough to actually do something. A little while longer, he'd have been dead. I ask myself 'What if?' every day, and thank God he's still alive and well. Not to brag, but I've nearly died a couple of times from various accidents...one always asks 'What if?' after that, you know. The world wouldn't be as awesome without me around. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways. The world wouldn't be as awesome without me around. You're going to need a better rep to pull of a statement like that. I've asked "what if" plenty of times, and it never seems to help me. So instead of pouting about it all the time, I just stopped asking "what if?". I'm a decent enough person with a good enough family and life, asking "what if?" would be a waste of my time, and an arrogant waste of time at that. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. It's just that it wouldn't make even the slightest difference if you were never born. (It would change some stuff but nothing incredibly important - DONT ACT SMART WITH ME!!!) Icingdeath
Actually, every person probably affects others in a profound way, we just don't know it. Little things we do could have had a major effect on the outcome of an event. Like I said, we're probably just ignorant to most of them. I really wouldn't call it an era. MPM
I've always hated "what ifs" with a passion. I feel that their regrets for a decision, and if I regret a decision, I will just try to not make it again. You can what if anything in life, what if I had talked to that girl, what if I had hit him, what if my tire goes flat? Nothing can be done about it, so no reason to worry. I like knowing that the decision I made was the best I could, and I won't second guess it. ~M
Giordano
For me is the game Jak 2. Its not about 'it', but the connection it made between me and my now best friend. I just HAD to ask "Do you play Jak 2?" on that sunny day in 6th grade...With that friend linked to several others so without him I really dont know which friends I'll have now. Hell I might even be emo! Nah not really. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." I actually have to force myself to play, if I dare even pull up another browser while playing Runescape I won't go back to Runescape, and it'll autolog me out. But I really only do it to compete with my friends and my brother. I guess it doesn't help that I can't multitask to save my life. Me doing staff. TokyoPolice
Weird one. Had I not seen Nirvana's Unplugged performance when I was eight or so, I'd probably still be in college trying to get an office job or something that I would eventually grow to despise. But now I'm doing what I love. And I couldn't be happier, y'know? ANOTHER QUALITY POST BY JAKE. :funone: jake on last.fm
