InfamousDuck
This topic will probably mainly relate to British people only. I have Virgin Media for TV and this week SKY stopped Virgin from being able to play their channels E.g.Sky One and Sky Two.This is because of Richard Branson taking over NTl and that Virgin Bought ITV. AS Rupert Murdock(Sky's Owner) was angry with Virgin he decided that Virgin should pay SKY ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã20 million($38,912,019.92)or lose their channels,as that was an outragous deal Virgin turned it down and now i cant watch few of my favourite programs(Lost,24)because of SKY. These our some quotes from Virgin Media- But Sky asked us to pay such an unrealistically high price that keeping them would mean asking you to pay the kind of increase that is simply unfair. We refuse to stand by and see our customers get ripped off. Sky's bullying tactics Sky have picked up their ball and gone home We believe SKY is attempting to get people to switch companies Are you affected by these changes :?: Do you agree with what SKY is doing :?: Who do you think is to blame :?: If you are affected by it go to http://www.virginmedia.com/fairplay ~Dark~ Runescape - Currently In-active and a cancelled membership due to a broken computer and a cabbage laptop!2xBarrowsReward1600SkillTotalReached|08/05/2010(Previously 'Darkknightider', wow that was a bad name :p)

Barihawk
I may not be from the UK, but I can obviously see that the deal was ridiculous. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
indy500fan
Is this just for the UK? It would only affect me if it takes place in Canada also. Sky One is the releasers source for getting Heroes on Sunday, and Lost 3 hours before it comes on. That means I can watch these shows early and without commercials :D . I don't know anything about Sky or Virgin Media so I don't know if that will matter or not.
Mercifull
You cant believe everything Virgin say, they are just as guilty as Sky in this fiasco. there is propaganda from both sides and Sky will lose approx ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã60m in lost ad revenue if its not sorted so both sides have a lot to lose from this. Yes there probaly is some guilt in Virgin as well and there probaly is propaganda from both sides although virgin havent done anything that might persuade people to switch while SKY has, anyway I still think SKy is the one at fault. ~Dark~ Runescape - Currently In-active and a cancelled membership due to a broken computer and a cabbage laptop!2xBarrowsReward1600SkillTotalReached|08/05/2010(Previously 'Darkknightider', wow that was a bad name :p)

I'm not a Virgin or SKY customer, but I can see that SKY is trying to weasel customers from Virgin to SKY. Will it work? Only time will tell. Mercifull
Sky say that they offered the channels to Virgin for 3p per person per day. Now Virgin reckon Sky want double what they currently pay. They cant both be telling the truth, Virgin arnt the completely innocent party here. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. The new digital ones arnt that big anyway. Im just glad i went for Sky instead of Cable, as administrator for a Battlestar Galactica site it would suck pretty much if I couldn't watch the show lol. Harrington
Dunno if anyone has noticed, but if you go to Virgin Interactive, many of the missing programmes from Sky 1 are available for viewing (kinda like the teleport idea).

That sucks about the price increase sluggy, how can they justify that? Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Only nip-tuck[which i dont watch] but lost is going to be there soon :D Last time I checked, it contained... Little Britain, CSI (I think), Alias and a few others. Not a great list, but they say they're going to build on it. I just hope they're not gonna try and post a few (to get you hooked), then charge a subscription for the rest. Mercifull
Lost, BSG and Heores will be on Virgin on demand soon or so i heard. but probably wont be for a while yet considering that BBC2 has the rights to aire Heroes on terrestrial TV and that wont be until its finished its run on SciFi. I just hope they're not gonna try and post a few (to get you hooked), then charge a subscription for the rest. Well with no adverts being shown during the actual show they gotta make their money somehow... Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. angryjoe
to be fair ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã20million is a drop in the ocean for companys of this size and they should both just stop being so petty and think more about their customers. NTl/Virgin dont need to raise their costs they should just stop being such greedy sods and cover the extra costs themselves.
