SKY Channels on Virgin Media

I have Virgin Media for TV and this week SKY stopped Virgin from being able to play their channels E.g.Sky One and Sky Two.This is because of Richard Branson taking over NTl and that Virgin Bought ITV. AS Rupert Murdock(Sky's Owner) was angry with Virgin he decided that Virgin should pay SKY ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã20 million($38,912,019.92)or lose their channels,as that was an outragous deal Virgin turned it down and now i cant watch few of my favourite programs(Lost,24)because of SKY.

I may not be from the UK, but I can obviously see that the deal was ridiculous.

Is this just for the UK? It would only affect me if it takes place in Canada also. Sky One is the releasers source for getting Heroes on Sunday, and Lost 3 hours before it comes on. That means I can watch these shows early and without commercials :D . I don't know anything about Sky or Virgin Media so I don't know if that will matter or not.

You cant believe everything Virgin say, they are just as guilty as Sky in this fiasco. there is propaganda from both sides and Sky will lose approx ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã60m in lost ad revenue if its not sorted so both sides have a lot to lose from this.

It's so unfair that SKY has to be so mean. I'm not a Virgin or SKY customer, but I can see that SKY is trying to weasel customers from Virgin to SKY. Will it work? Only time will tell.

Sky say that they offered the channels to Virgin for 3p per person per day. Now Virgin reckon Sky want double what they currently pay. They cant both be telling the truth, Virgin arnt the completely innocent party here.

I used to hate Sky dishes, but as I spend 99.9999999999999999% of the time inside the house then I don't care having a dish outside lol. The new digital ones arnt that big anyway.

Dunno if anyone has noticed, but if you go to Virgin Interactive, many of the missing programmes from Sky 1 are available for viewing (kinda like the teleport idea).

Virgin still have the rights to shows as video on demand but Sky had broadcasting rights.

Last time I checked, it contained... Little Britain, CSI (I think), Alias and a few others. Not a great list, but they say they're going to build on it.

Lost, BSG and Heores will be on Virgin on demand soon or so i heard. but probably wont be for a while yet considering that BBC2 has the rights to aire Heroes on terrestrial TV and that wont be until its finished its run on SciFi.
