Recommend me thread!

Ok, well like other Canadian kids, I am on march break, ergo i get the next 10 days off school, and will relax!

Im feeling in a... gamey mood. Id like someone to recommend some games to me that i can try out during my break. Dunno, you might get me into a new series. Ill tell you one thing though, i refuse to play games that are fighting (i.e. Mortal kombat) or sports, or racing. Other then that, go nuts!

Also, to keep this thread valid, anyone else can ask for recommendations as well.

For some very odd reason, "The Sims" just popped into my head. So I will recommend that, if you haven't played it already. It's a great game, and you can probably pick up a pack with all 7 or so expansions pretty cheaply. It should keep you pretty busy for the 10 days, and then your addictiveness should be wearing off. That's why I think it would be good.

Well then, I read in another thread here (can't remember which one) that you have Morrowind and Oblivion. I definitely would suggest playing Morrowind first, since Oblivion makes some things easier (such as traveling) and going to play Morrowind after that may make you like it less. So much of the experience of playing Morrowind comes from the openness of it, and if you travel everywhere you can miss a lot.

The only reason I didn't suggest those was the length, once you get into it you have much more than 10 days worth of game time, and you may find yourself unable to stop :D .

If I had literally 1 week with nothing but gaming, I'd bring Baldur's Gate I and II, Icewind Dale I and Planescape: Torment out of the dust-gathering pile of old games.

They're probably cheap aswell. Don't forget the expansion for BG I though, it's a good one.

They're the best of a dead era. The Infinity Engine DnD RPGs. Aah, the good old days, battling monsters for fame or treasure. Overthrowing villains for justice or power. Bringing peace or chaos to the world. Muahahaha.

*ahem*

That's just a sampling of the content. DEFINITELY be wary of this game. But it's funny..and good...

Excellent shouts. I have to second all of them.

Ah, man! God of War is such an amazing game. I just played a little bit again, and the images and the music are of such high quality. And it's so 'easy' to play, you don't have to read trough 100s of pages in a manual, you can pick up the controler and start killing right away. It's so brutal, and the atmosphere is really amazing. You're really getting into your character. I totally dig it!
