Idea for new arrows

I think it would be cool to be able to kill dragons, and they drop teeth, so instead of fletching arrow heads on to shafts, you fletch dragon teeth, rangers havent gotten much in past updates,

mages got teleblock, ancient magic

melleers (is this a word?) get whip, 5 new armour sets, so much more

rangers get brutal arrows, thats about it, OH! and lets not forget about snake skin armour and full Karil's :roll:

Karils still is pretty good, and I think that rangers don't really need anything else, seeing as how they can hit 38 or so in 2 turns. (And two turns for a ranger are equivalent to 1 turn of a mage or meeler.)

I did like HOW these would be obtained though. Most people say "Oh, let's introduce dragon smithing to get them!" You took a different, more original approach. Still I'm saying no on this one. =-\

I think i like this idea...Rune arrows hit pretty well, but theyre no whip, nor ice blitz, rangers need something to hit a little higher, however, it should come at a little cost to speed because bows are ueber fast.

Sounds like a good idea, but I think this is a no, because who wants to kill a dragon and get 15 teeth for arrows? Maybe you get like 100 or so, because I bet dragons have more than 1 set of teeth (like sharks, even if dragons are fake).

Well it cant be 100, i mean....killing a dragon takes how long, 15 seconds? :lol: , thats 200 teeth that can be fletched into arrows in about 2 minutes, since 200 arrows is the normal amount to go pking with, 15 minutes to get 200 of the best arrows in the game is kind of out of the question.

Maybe green dragons drop more teeth, but the arrows they make wouldnt hit as hard and blues would drop less teeth , but theyre arrows would hit slightly better,

But if this is too complicated, maybe just one arrow, but greens drop less teeth, blues more, and so on and so on.

or maybe the different arrow parts come from different dragons. like you could get the shafts from greens (bones?), teeth from blues, and maybe scales instead of arrows (i know this is kind of out there, but maybe) from reds, then if you would like to poison them, grind up black dragon scales, put in vial and use water on it to get special poison, or somehow get poison from blacks

any of these ideas would work for me

Karil's Crossbow hits hard and fast enough for me, My max hit is 16 with Karil's Crossbow, only 14 with rune arrows.

Teeth couldn't be a 100% drop, that'd be too unfare, maybe a rare drop, plus I think it's completely worth it to get 100 or so teeth out of every 50+ kills or something! This is making arrows for rangers, not making pots for people that herblore, but again these are just ideas so the possibilites are endless...

i like the not 100% drop idea, that could work, and i know its not about making pots, just another idea, but there would have to be someway to incorporate black dragons, or poison for that matter, maybe a 10% drop of dragons blood, which you would have to pick up in a vile

Hey howcome when i posted the same idea in discussions and advice all i got was flames,excapt in my idea it would kinda be like making arrowtips from wolf bones u get anywhere from 2-10 and its (obviously) dragon bones not wolf ones.

I like the idea.

But (there's always a but, heh?), the amount dropped have to be kept low, otherwise, it will be too easy to obtain them, and normal arrows will become worthless.

But as Jagex always rather makes things easy, to suit the little kids, if this idea becomes true, it will be fairly easy :?

I am a lvl 99 ranger... Karils xbow isn't bad but i think it would be better if the you could use the bolts more than once.. Karils bow is actually quite nice.. i only had about 100 bolts but i was hittin around the same as i do with rune arrows.. 20s and what not.. I kinda wish jagex would bring out new BETTER arrows but its doubtful..... I've had the dragon arrows too i even posted it on the RS forums.. didn't get much response except "rangers don't need anything else!!!!" I do like this idea though... rangers need better updates for the higher lvls... I mean i didn't train over 16m to range to get short changed bc of jagex

its not even that karils is bad, the special is waht really kills it, its probably the best update for rangers in a long long time, im just saying, the previous few updates have been the suck, and all melee/magic updates have been amazing, rangers just need something to put them back up to par

maybe freez arrows or some thing? to freezz some one like artic freez spell...

But anyway, I do like the idea of having dragon arrows. Although, they would need to be "exclusive" and hard to get.

dont like it stop whining if you want ancinet magicks do the quest and have you seen how much money for 85 mage and 94 and how muhc 1 spell costs when a rune arrow is just a measily 400gp and warriors have to get close if they start running with no ice spells or entangle they have no hope and have you seen how much whips are? 5mil+ when rangers jsut need full black d hide 100 rune arrows or more mage short archer helm glory ammy thats all

Perhaps if different dragons dropped different coloured teeth whihc had different effects, eg:

Green: A venom that acts like a weak poisen.

Blue: A venom that acts like a strong poisen.

Red: A venom that paralyses the foe. (stuns them for a short time)

Grey: A razor sharp tooth that inflicts more damage than other bone arrows.

Jet black: A venom that paralyses a foe and acts like a strong poisen.

Of course the grey bone arrow tips would be from black drags whereas jet black bone arrow tips would be from the king black dragon.

That would be too complex, just same from all dragons, increase dmg so that it is stronger than rune is at most what is needed.

Have dragons drop progressively more teeth the harder the dragon is. This way, there might be some use for the really high fletching levels which would be required to make these dragon arrows. Also, have the shafts made out of magic logs or somthing, and the feathers made from firebirds feathers (change the drop rate of them to 5 instead of one, still need ice gloves). This way, there would be 3 relatively difficult componants to making the dragon arrows.

I totaly love this idea and although am quite low in range and so would end up being on the end of these arrows, I like the idea of making them :D

The problem with pking with ranged solo is that anyone rather it is a mage or melee just can keep up with a ranger eating sharks cause they will hit 22 tops anyway, the only way to kill someone is with the special attack of the Magic shortbow wich you can only use rarely in a fight.

Archers need a new update! I am melee, but I think it would be fairer, if they got a new lvl 80 range armor or new arrows that added a special effect like paralyze, or maybe you could make arrows with a different tool or something.

i think its a great idea althought i think they would need to very hard to get and around at least 2k per arrow. i think they should hit 2 more then rune arrows. And be VERY hard to with 1 dragon dropping 1-3 teeth Blacks Dropping 5 Teeth NON STACKABLE like herbs and such. Or it could hit as hard as crystal bow hits. Just a thought
