Mini-Games: The TzHaar Caves

Recommended Posts

You said things like roughly x monsters a few times. This makes me believe you don't know the logical order the monsters spawn. Sorry if I'm wrong and you do know this. I'm only trying to be helpful. Well it goes like this:

lvl 22

2x lvl 22

lvl 45

lvl 22 + lvl 45

2x lvl 22 + lvl 45

2x lvl 45

lvl 90

lvl 22 + lvl 90

2x lvl 22 + lvl 90

lvl 45 + lvl 90

lvl 22 + lvl 45 + lvl 90

2x lvl 22 + lvl 45 + lvl 90

2x lvl 45 + lvl 90

2x lvl 90

lvl 180

lvl 22 + lvl 180

2x lvl 22 + lvl 180

lvl 45 + lvl 180

lvl 22 + lvl 45 + lvl 180

2x lvl 22 + lvl 45 + lvl 180

2x lvl 45 + lvl 180

lvl 90 + lvl 180

lvl 22 + lvl 180

2x lvl 22 + lvl 180

lvl 45 + lvl 180

lvl 22 + lvl 45 + lvl 180

2x lvl 22 + lvl 45 + lvl 180

2x lvl 45 + lvl 180

2x lvl 90 + lvl 180

2x lvl 180

And so on

So you always get this:

monster

All monsters you got before, same order + monster

2x monster

Edit by oddfaery2 05/30/07: Close. There will now be a list of waves in the guide though... Was surprised there wasn't one already!

A couple of improvements to the guide that I believe the Tzhaar fight cave could use:

1) The level 22 that spawns from the level 45, is entirely different the level 45. It is purple, and smaller.

2) The "Killing the boss" section, second picture (the one that shows an archer hitting TzTok-Jad on 14) could use a picture of the mini-map, or more info on where exactly he's standing, I know it would help me alot. (Example: Northeastern corner, south etc..)

3) A possible suggestion for a ring would help? Like an archer ring.

4) The level 22 drain prayer AT ALL TIMES, not just when the level 360 shows up.

5) Also, for people less then 75 prayer (I think it was..) you should also recommend using Super-Restore pots instead of prayer potions.

~Hope you take some of this into consideration, I love the guide by the way, and this will make it even better! :D

P.S. Still trying to get that ever so elusive fire cape!

Edit by oddfaery2 05/30/07: Took care of these and your other post except for #2. The corner really isn't all that important, as long as you use a partition. Archers ring would make most sense. I will have to work on getting the items for a new inventory picture

Since today's update (Cabin Fever quest), I thought it might be worth noting that you can now take a break during the fight cave mini-game (the one with the TzTok-Jad/702). Before you had to stay logged in for 2 or more hours (give or take a few) in order to successfully complete the game.

When you click logout while doing the mini-game, you get a message that states:

Your logout request has been received.

You will be logged out at the end of the current wave.

Please click the logout button again to abort this minigame entirely.

What this means is that you cannot logout in the middle of a wave of monsters, but once you kill all the monsters of the current wave, then you will be automatically logged out. When you log back in, you will be placed at the center of the caves and the next wave of monsters will spawn.

Edit by oddfaery2 05/30/07: Somebody already put this in the guide before I went through posts today

Here's another spelling correction:

The Fight Caves is the ultimate man vs beast challenge for Runescape's strongest players. It consists of battling countless monsters, ranging from level 22 all the way up to the level 702 TzTok-Jad. Ouch! If you wish to complete this mini-game successfully, you will need to have a highcombat leve(110+).

It says "leve" that should be level.

Edit by oddfaery2 05/30/07: same for highcombat...

I used the "Contact Us" button for this as well, but read what was written about the forums so...

Just thought i'd offer some help on the caves minigame and the stats for the fire cape.

Stats:

+1 to all attacks

+11 to all defensive

+4 to strength

+2 to prayer

Tips:

180s- There are two great safe spots for the 180s, between the two of them you have a for sure safety. Either you stand in the spot pictured, or you stand where the 180 is and it is stuck there. The 180s always align themselves west-east with you and then north-south.

Jad's spawn location- The Jad always spawns close to where the yellow 360 spawns. If yellow was southeast, the Jad will be southeast corner, etc., etc. Using this knowledge, you can draw the Jad to you, instead of having to find it. If the Jad spawns southeast, you stand northeast hugging the south side of the corner, getting the jad stuck south of you. Same with the middle and southwest. If the 360 spawns northwest, you stand north enough so that when the Jad spawns northwest corner he gets stuck. Just switch on range protect, and listen for a sound similar to a fire blast spell- if you hear it switch to mage protect. If you stood in the right spot however, you should not get attacked because the jad is stuck!

Reasons to do this: Not only does it give you time to calm down and know where the Jad is, by having him directly against the wall this gets 1-2 healers stuck. That means you only need to attack them and kill the other 2-3 for a safe slaughter of the jad- no second or third healer spawns!!

Please feel free to test my methods, but they have worked 3 times for me now.

Also, I have a recording of the audio of both the Jads mage and ranged attacks if you would like to upload it. It helps a lot with the Jad's opening attack.

What about mentioning that there in every fight cave attempt will respawn 1 monster, can be any, from a little lvl 22 tz-Kek to the 702 Jod.

It's respawning on the location it was killed from

And oh.. This guide should be redone IMO, at least the Fight cave guide part. Pit and general area is fine

Edit by oddfaery2 05/30/07: When I added waves tonight I mentioned this as well

I think your fight caves guide should offer muggi's method as an alternative to Guthans (with his permission, of course).

[pokemama edit 7/28: I don't see Muggi's method posted here. Is it somewhere in the forums? Could you provide a link to the topic? EDIT2: ddrmaster posted it below]

Pokemoma, the link is right here.

Some things I think should be added to the guide are:

You don't need to be 110+ combat. As long as you have 70 range, 43 prayer, and a lot of knowledge of the Caves, it's possible (heck, Muggi's level 57 pure did it ).

The Sara Brew/Super Restore method. If you are under 75 prayer, this method is most likely better because Super Restores heal more prayer than prayer pots if your level is 74 or lower. Also, mention that Sara Brews increase defence and can temporarily raise your hits level, but it is important to drink a super restore after this, because attack, strength, mage, and range suffer from the use of a Sara Brew.

The use of two crystal bows instead of xbow. If an xbow is too costly, many people use the alternative of two crystal bows. You use one crystal bow for everyone up to the Jad, and whip out a brand new one as soon as you get to him.

Also, in the guide, for "Getting to the 360's" there is no alternative of ranging the 180s. This helpful method stops the 180s from healing, and you can still run back to the safespot after killing the 90s once they start to appear.

The guide also displays a little-used safespot. I think a picture of the Italy Rock safespot (the one most-used) should be added.

As for the Jad "lure and kill method", I don't think that is available anymore. It was a bug early on for about two weeks when the fight caves first came out. Now, no matter where you are, the Jad can mage/range you (unless you are unable to range/mage him). So this method should be removed.

For the second method, you mention the "rocks falling from the ceiling" or the "fireball" attacks he has. True, these are his attacks, but you can't correctly gauge his attacks (and your correct prayer) from the projectile animation; you must look at his feet. If he stands up on his front legs for a while, it's a mage attack. If he lifts his front legs and quickly slams them on the ground, it's range.

The healers, Yt-MejHur's, are not mentioned in the Monsters section. Perhaps they should be added? They are level 108 however; in the second to last sentece of the Jad methods, they are listed as 102.

Also, if you decide to kill the healers, you MUST get the Jad down below half hp. Otherwise, once you get him down to half HP again, another four will be summoned. Instead of killing them, the guide should mention lining them up and using the Steel Skin prayer so that only one healer is attacking at once.

Almost lastly, you can also write about using the entire Italy rock to shield yourself against the Jad. It's hard to describe, but if you are on one side of the big Italy rock, the Jad can get trapped on the other. This makes it possible to regroup without fear of prayer switching. It's also a nice time to take out the healers without having to worry about prayer switching.

Lastly, the stats of the fire cape should be included. They are:

+1 to all attack

+11 to all defence

+4 to strength

+2 to prayer

WOW...that took long. Hope some of this info helps! If you need pictures or any other help, PM me here or ingame, I'll try to help.

You might want to add that an archer ring can be beneficial.

And ideally, the black dhide should be replaced with karils top and bottom. You'll be hit mainly by the 90s, which use a ranged attack. And karils has better ranged def than black dhide, and the same ranged attack.

It is also CRUCIAL to fix the end of the guide. The "lure and kill" method was a bug, which was fixed well over a year ago. Players attempting to use this will find out too late that it doesn't work anymore.

Edit by oddfaery2 05/30/07: Not too sure about the Karils vs dhide since I don't really mess with Karil's, but I already removed the lure section by the time I got around to this :D

Extremly tiny mistake but w/e....

For Getting To the 360's the mistake is in bold....

"....level 180 behind the level 90 and finish it, otherwise you will get shot by two of them at once and wil[supposed to be a l here] die fairly quickly."

I think they should make an animated Jad on the killing Jad section, on the left side of Jad you can choose the attack styles you want for him to use, then on the right side the prayer menu would show up so you could change prayers, if you don't switch fast enough there would be a red splat on your screen, this could be a good way for people to switch prayers without actually going to Jad to try it. :wall:

And have you got any imagination how big work would that be?

And you can train with a friend, friend uses emotes and you range.

On the introduction to the above mini game, you have not mentioned that the fight cave and pit are also easily reached by the fairy ring combination BLP. Perhaps this guide was written before the fairy rings were introduced to the game...

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

I believe the Tzhaar page should be updated with guides to the stores in the Tzhaar area and a general description (with pictures) of the monsters outside of the fight arena with appropriate links to the bestiary guide.

I do not see this as being a large task but it would be very useful to have a developed guide for the whole area and not just about the fight caves.

Also I cannot produce any of these numbers or pictures as I am currently f2p with intentions of becoming a member again within the next month.

Here is my response to your other topic on this same subject:

In general, Tip.It's Special Maps serve the purpose of "city guides". You'll find some of what you seek on the TzHaar map page http://tip.it/runescape/?page=tzhaar.htm

Looks like the Fight Pits guide could use a link to the special map - although the map is the same, the accompanying text info is obviously different.

HTH

In particular, Bestiary links to the TzHaar city monsters are provided.

For fight pits

When a round has progressed for a long time, TzHaar monsters will be released into the arena - Tz-Kih, then Tz-kek, and finally Tok-Xil. If there is still no winner, the players will all start to rapidly lose health, as if they had no lantern in a cave

Back by popular demand!

And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.
