Dag Kings - The not so perfect trip.

It all starts with me going to a Clan event for a clan that I recently put my application in for (BlacKnights (BK) if you're wondering). So I am at the Monkey agility training arena, chatting, meeting new people from the clan and having a good time. Later on as the crowd thins out I notice I'm close to an Agility level. So I stay there with the 2-3 people that are still there from the clan event. I go around the course countless times. Hop the stone, climb the tree, cross the monkeybars, up the skull hill, swing on the vine, climb down the vine, rinse, repeat. I'm getting close to the level and by now I'm bored out of my skull as I hate training agility. Well then I notice a certain someone logs in. So I do the thing that I'm sure he gets countless times when he's logged in. I beg for free stuff. ;)

That helped to pass the time a bit, as I'm getting ever closer to my Agility level I get a message from Oddfaery2 asking what I'm doing. I tell him that I'm at a clan event and almost have an Agility level. He then messages me with just two dollar signs ($$). First thing that comes to my mind is he wants to go to Kings. I was correct in my assumption and I tell him after I get my Agility level I'd love to go. Well....

So we're off. Trip is going well, we get there no problems everything is going as planned. I get nothing good (except for MORE Steel kiteshield, surprise surprise). After a while I start getting hit hard by the Spinolyps there, I mean they are smacking me around like a red-head step child. So as they are pounding on me I'm gobbling down shark like nobody's business. Now when I go to Kings I usually take at the max 5 sharks. And that usually lasts me atleast an hour, if not more. Well this time I was there maybe 30 minutes and I was out of food and at 49hp. So I teleport to the Ectofuntus disappointed at the lack luster of drops and the fact that I had to leave the trip so early. I go to attend another clan event that was happening that day, at the Fight Pits. I have a very fun time, even won a match. ;)

So after that's all said and done I log out to brouse this forum and such when Odd notices me on mIRC asking if I wish to do more Kings. Well of course I do! So I get ready, this time with some Saradomin Brews and Super Restores that I grew earlier that day. We even invited Leesters along.

Things are going good until we get to the first safe spot (where nothing can attack you and you can regain energy %) Then all of the sudden I see "Leesters: Omg" "Leesters: I'm not lending Met antis anymore!". Well I guess that he had brought regular restore pots rather then Super restores as he's done this before. I ask, and that's not the case. Instead he brought ALL Super anti pots, no Super restores at all. So him and Odd tele back so he can grab the correct potions while I decide to take the route back so I can open the door supports so Odd can save a spot for another Prayer pot rather then having to bring a Rune throwingaxe.

Well we finally get back and make our way to the second safe spot near the Rock lobsters and I'm a little low on Hp. So I turn on Protect from melee and attack a Rock lobster, I'm hitting very low on him so I go up the ladder near the spot and start hitting on a Dagannoth (level-90). Well me being combat level 111 I figured Hey, this guy won't hit me that hard. Well before I know it I'm down to 29hp. :shock: Two mistakes already? This trip is off to a good start.... So I throw on Melee protect and eventually get myself up to around full hp, atleast close enough so I feel comfortable enough to continue on.

We make our way into the place, things are finally going smooth, I'm soloing Rex and Odd and Leesters are picking off Prime and Supreme. I'm not getting any good drops besides a clue and....take a guess.....yet more Steel kiteshields...I'm getting a bit angry at this point. Two trips and no good drops? This isn't like my normal luck here at all.

Then it happens....The single most horrific thing that could ever happen at Kings......

:shock: My heart sinks down to my toes. The only thing I can do is close the window while screaming many, many "not so nice" words at my computer. I franticly click and close out the RuneScape window hopeing that I will see that beautiful screen with the big buttons that we all know and love...

After what seemed like an eternity I finally see it and franticly load up world 78 and log in to, thankfully, find myself still at kings, and still alive. I count my blessings and continue on like normal, making Rex feel the rath of my Magic Dart.

And then it happens again....yes again.......I lose connection for the second time in the worst possible place. I'm so angry I could throw my PC though my wall. But somebody must of been watching over my Pixelated butt because it quickly reconnected and I teleported out of there. Lucky to be alive.

Wow, and I thought I had bad trips down there... Still can't forget the time a moron Ranger brought a cannon, Rex and Supreme ended up going on a total rampage throughout the cave (everyone ended up dying or teleing but me :? ). But your story, ouch :shock: .

I guess you guys are a little lucky though to be able to go down there with your godly stats and gear, as I'm always forced to go down with morons who just love to create stress inducing chaos (I havn't gone with any Tip.iters yet though, hoping to go down with Deangut this weekend :D ).

No, the server will force your character to log out after 30 seconds if the connection from your computer to the server is cut unexpectily.

Cannons are such a bad idea there. And it's not my computer that's the problem. It's my ISP. They always seem to like to work on the service or something when I'm going to a place where I stand the chance to lose roughly 11.5M in materials. :roll:

No, you finish whatever fight you're in the middle of and then log out instantly. I'm surprised he got out because of all the lvl 76's constantly barraging one down there.

He's using Magic Dart and a safe spot (Slayer staff).

He also has a Gspear for healing 8-) .

I understand your position and feeling when you swore at your computer when you lost connection.

The ironic thing is, I have a very high speed DSL connection. Go figure. Stupid internet....

Oddfaery2 and Leesters were taking out Prime and Supreme while I was soloing Rex. I took him to the SE safe spot so you can't see Odd or Leesters, but they're there. ;)

i lagged out their on world 2 also, with valaraz super majin urza1488 and a few other people

it was horrible, i lagged, couldnt login to world 2, came back and stayed for a few mins then got destroyed by supreme? the ranger one because after we took care of mage, we decided we better get to the ranger since the melee people died\teled

John, lol, you gotta be more careful man, if you lagged connection once, I would get the hell out right away, why stay for more? :S But I love ya man, just take care and be careful, glad you had fun at the BK events, you'll really like the clan. You should take a break from kings and come barrows with me sometime when I get done with my finals week! You're rich enough as it is though. Anyway, good luck in the future with Kings, and I'm sure I'll talk to you soon enough :P

They might of if that was the case. But with them being on the other side of the room they might not have noticed that I logged out in time to go hunt for what I would of dropped. I know when I'm there I don't hardly ever notice a PM I get.

You shoudl classify this as "LUCKY" since you disconnect multiple times, yet still survived.

We were there, alright.

Let me tell you about what was happening on the other side of the room. While Met was standing and disconnecting, Odd and myself were running and discombulating.

Now, when you go to the Dags with Odd, you don't just stand there and pick off Prime for 90 minutes. Ohhhh noooo. This guy makes it MUCH more interesting.

After Prime's first kill, I'm standing on the side healing myself, and after a few seconds, I noticed Odd was no where on my map. Where the heck is he? Oh, he's killing Supreme! Goodness, he's gotta warn me on that!

I'm sure he expected me to go help him, so I run over and try to help him finish Supreme off before Prime comes.

"Nooooooooo" he says.

Whoops, what the hey??

"Someone needs to take care of Prime so he doesn't hit me"

Prime spawns and kisses me for 38 for a good lesson learned. We finish off Supreme, and head back to the corner to lick my wounds with Mr Guthan on the side guys.

Now, usually, we have always teamed up on Supreme after Prime dies, and I've never done the "distraction" tactic that Odd was doing, but that just goes to show you....if you go with this boy, you're gonna learn something new.

Now, it goes bad here, but when it goes bad at the Dags with Oddfaery2, you are in for a spectator treat. He's killing Supreme, and I'm waiting for Prime, knowing that I have to attack him FAST to get him casting at me, instead of at Odd. Well, that crystal bow just isn't fast enough, and now I get to watch the warrior in action. There he is standing with 2 kings, toe to toe, bashing and get slammed, its quite a treat to watch.

One time previously, I actually died watching this guy battle all three at once. Its quite mesmorizing.

He runs back after the battle, which I saw him down to 10 hitpoints at one point, and he says "the heck with that" (language edited)

I talk him into doing it the old fashioned way, and as soon as Prime drops, we go blast Supreme with Guthan on range pray. We heal up, take no damage, and he drops a few seconds before Prime comes back.

NOW we're talking. We continue this tactic for awhile, and all of a sudden we have Rex bearing down on us. Now, this, I know. Whoever Rex comes after walks him over to the mage. He goes after Odd. Odd pauses and runs to the north. Well, thats strange. Now Rex is on me.

So I run over to the spot where... um.... Met? Where are you? No wonder Odd paused, he noticed Met was gone.

As the wise old man said when fighting KQ, "Oh deary me."

Now, I have Rex chasing me, Supreme is not dead yet, and here comes Prime.

Now THIS I don't know. I ponder the possibilities here. Okay, lets get Rex over to the safe spot, and deal with the others. Since I've never done this before, I was less than successful.

Heres a tip for all you aspring Dag Kingers... When you have all 3 on you at once, its time to leave. I'm looking for my Camelot tele button as Rex takes a swing at me.

Too bad you didnt get any good drops, I hear people in f2p are looking for steel kites. Well I am glad nothing terrible happened, besides Leesters bringing super anti pots and the connection loss, but hey at least it wasnt the worst thing that could happened. X.X

That happens to me, I have tiscali broadband the seems to cut out every couple of hours. When it cuts out I have to wait for this triangle to turn from red to green and then connect.

I just wish it would let you log in when you're in a fight instead of saying account busy...

Sounds like a miserable, miserable trip on both ends!

So 3 near deaths, no rare drops, and a terrible connection don't make for a great DK trip, I suppose.
