Kid gets robbed over RSGP
Those are some pretty lazy fake bills (read: laser printer and normal paper) to be spotted that easily. I always get a kick out of people risking jail time over a computer game, real world value or not. Something about that scenario is always so surreal. Other than that, nothing new, except perhaps the gun part. Also the RWT element is new I think. The past incidents I remember have been people who knew the account owner in person, and I think they always stopped at knives. Also, as a side note, that he didn't take the real hundred dollar bill makes me wonder if he thought is wasn't robbery if he didn't steal anything real. I feel like even if that were the case, pointing a gun at someone still seems like it's against the law, even if it was a bb gun.

Stanced/Slammed/DUMPED Cars
Always interesting to see what appeals to different people. In general, I would say that most modifications do not appeal to me, though it might be a side effect of the way many modified cars tend to be driven. The stanced car does look broken though. I can't say I find this to be of any appeal, along with just about everything else aside from added lights, removed doors on jeeps, and low profile tires on legitimate sports cars (honda civics are not sport cars).

Why PC Gaming Sucks
Sorry, I did sort of end up removing my direct answer. Yes, if two people enjoy PC and console gaming equally, then price is likely to be the point of contention. My point was that I consider this irrelevant, since price has no direct impact on how enjoyable the experience is. It only impacts on which is more likely to be bought, which doesn't correlate with what people find most desirable. Generally, the most expensive items are considered the most desirable, which is why they are the most expensive. In this case, it is complicated by the fact that a computer of some sort is pretty much essential for functioning in the modern world, which means most families have at least one. Consoles need to be cheep to attract people, because they are essentially siphoning money out of peoples computer budgets. You need to be able to afford both at once, or your not going to have nearly as many sales.

Today...
Two screens is useful to me when writing papers, since I often need to refer to sources/research/data and the monitor I use is not particularly wide enough. What I do now when I really need two screens is move my TV onto my desk, like I had it setup for the two months between buying my PC and getting a monitor for it. The TV is wide enough that just halving the screen isn't a big deal at all. Alternatively, I'll use my laptop for view resources and my PC to write. If I go for the three monitor setup, I probably won't use the third one very much. There are a few times in writting that having even that third screen might be useful though. It's also just as likely that I will use it to watch TV while writing papers. So I think I will take them both, and get a display port to VGA adapter (since I use the hdmi slot for TV already). I need to sit down at my desk, whcih I can't do for a bit, and figure out how the setup would work. I think I can get the speakers behind the monitors though now that I think about it.

Today...
I am getting a second, and possibly third monitor for my computer. My parents haven't thrown a computer out since like ever, except the predeccesor to the windows '95 one. They also kept the monitors, but they have no use for them. Only problem is that while my card will accept up to 4 screens, I only have two DVI sockets. To use a third screen I am going to need an HDMI to VGA or DisplayPort to VGA adapter. Unless I am seriously mistaken and one of the monitors can accept HDMI. Fortunately, HDMI to VGA actually is a thing that exists (I don't know why I am surprised, but I am). Not sure if my desk will hold 3 monitors though (it sure wont with the stereo speakers sitting on it, so they will have to move :()

Why PC Gaming Sucks
If you like consoles and PC's equally, then you like them equally, and they are the same quality of experience for you. You established that in your premise, end of story. And maybe I am in a different argument than everyone else. I prefer the argument not complicated by an additional issue, and rather just the experience vs other experiences. In other words, which one you want instead of which one you will get. What you get is just economics, and is a pretty simple comparison of how you want a and b, and how much you can afford to spend. My theory is that price is the major point of contention because it's the only factor anyone can back up, rather than just beating each other over the head with opinions.

Why PC Gaming Sucks
A couple things popped into my head while skimming the last couple pages. First, I would like to address gaming laptops and alienware, because oddly enough they both fall into the same category, that category being lighting large piles of money on fire then launching the ashes out of a cannon. Alienware is ludicrously expensive for what you get, and make their money off of people who want a computer that can play games, but think you need mystical voodoo powers to build your own (or pay your local computer shop to put it together for you). My point being, if hypothetical person owns either, then money probably wasn't an obstacle to begin with, because people on a budget would do research to ensure they get the most bang for their buck (well, actually a startling number of people don't, but still...). Second, the title of this thread is, and I quote: Why PC Gaming Sucks Since you (Faux) have not yet argued this same point for consoles, it is more than fair to say that yes, your argument is in fact that console gaming is superior to pc gaming, and you probably shouldn't be trying to deny that when your title and opening post say otherwise. Also, props for quoting a post that was arguing against you (against both of the other sides, and the side that I think Kim is on) to support yourself in an argument, by pretending to be on that side as well. Again, your title disqualifies you from the "there is no point comparing them because they offer totally different experiences" camp. My next thought, going back to cost because for some reason this is the big issue (and I would like to point out that under our economic model, logic would dictate that the experience considered to be most desirable would cost the most), is again, someone who owns both a console and pc probably doesn't fall into the category of 'price is a big issue'. In fact, price is the most pointless issue to consider, because for people who make their choice based on price, they are making their choice based on price, not based on what they believe will give them the most enjoyment. So pperhaps the people with a side can get back to arguing the merits of pc's vs consoles to entertain those of use who consider it apples and oranges.

Bug spray would work. I've had to do that before, except with the compost when our terribly bright tennants decided that the compost didn't need to go to the curb for at least 2 weeks strait. Not sure how anyone noticed this wasn't a problem wince you could hear the freaking green bin humming. So I sprayed it with a nice contact killer, then opened it and sprayed some more. Humming stopped. Smelled a bit ripe though. Yesterday my dad and I cut up an old MG (B GT) we had under our belcony for some reason. A bit sad to cut up a classic car, but there was no saving it. The body was too rusty even before we aquired it to save, and the structure was gone too. I think the original idea must have been that we could fill it up with a modern engine and drivetrain under the MG body (maybe the body was in better condition that I thought when we got it), but realistically that would never happen. Not to worry though since we have two more MG B GT's and they are in much better shape, and actually have all their parts. We also kept the roof and doors off the one we cut up. What's left is going in for scrap.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Honestly, it sounds like this one is a keeper, so it might work out nicely that the second girl is getting all distant on you. Should still figure out what's up if you don't hear form her in a while though.

Sounds like an awesome night. Which girl is this? The one you met at the bar right before you left for a bit, or the other one we thought you were pretty much dating?

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Where I was going with the exercise question was not where your thinking. If you regularly exercise (to the point where you need to sweat), then your body learns to sweat harder and sooner. Your body has no idea if your just walking up a flight of stairs to your room, or starting out on your daily 15km run. As a result, people who exercise a lot sweat a lot harder, and a lot easier, than average people do. An average person's body will typically wait until it needs to sweat to actually start, because you haven't essentially trained it to be proactive. By the sounds of it though, this shouldn't be an issue for you. I'm not sure how long it takes for the body to go back to normal person mode, but I imagine it's no more than a few months.

[Steam] Kerbal Space Program - Update 0.22: Career Mode!
Heh, I sort of want a skycrane now, though I'm not sure how the controls would work (can't control something without a command pod without using mechjeb, whihc I have stopped using now, and I think for good. It was causing me to lose skill). I also think I found some beefed up seperation rings, so I should be able to make my big rocket look nicer, rather than looking like something that will fall apart during launch (because it will).

They already found water with the last rover I think, so I iagine this one is doing more than that. I had a diagram someplace with all the sensors it has (and it's quite extensive), but I don't feel like trying to dig it up. I have realised that I have no real desire to see the third batman. I've not been able to watch the second one again, even though I did enjoy it when I saw the first one. I think it's because the story arch where people stop trusting the hero, or the hero loses faith in themselves really annoys me for some reason, and actively sucks the joy out of the story for me. This is why I will never re-watch any of the 24 seasons (since I think this is in half the episodes of every season), or the third spider man. I was overjoyed to see this story arch ruled out (or at least made more difficult to implement). Today we started dealing with the stack of boxes that had consumed our games room. The Foosball and air hockey tables were totally buried and blocked off, and we're blocking access to the board games and game table and chairs. There we're boxes under Foosball, but air hockey was like a cave running from beside our couch to the back wall, with a tunnel of boxes enteding it a bit beyond the table. Honestly, it was actually the sort of box fort that children dream of, and I had fun inside it unblocking the entrance by the couch, and collapsing boxes so I could get them out from under the tables. Parents are getting ready to move, so most of the boxes will end up getting put back together pretty soon, but its nice to be reclaiming the room.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Do you exercise a lot? And as I understand it, part of the slowness loading threads was caused by a bugfix for a minor issue that was put in place, and has now been removed. It seems no one bothered to tell Mage that it was having a noticeable impact before today -.- Not sure how much of an impact it was having, but at least for the smaller threads it should help out.

Longest runescape session?
I think I got up to 10 or 11 hours once while doing sacred clay, getting many of the hammers I needed to advance construction. I spent much less time on the actual skill  I also put in some long days back when I was doing 99Wc. Probably got up into the 9-12 hour range once or twice.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
On the topic of restaurants, I would consider that semi-formal. It really depends on where you go though. If you go to Swiss Chalet, that's pretty casual. Same with pretty much any of our Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants. At the formal end of the scale we have restaurants with dress codes, and in between we have nice restaurants where you wear something nice, but not super formal (like Steak and Stine I think). It's not something many people here do often (excepting the entire fast food industry, though eating even there often is hardly cheaper than eating real food), but its not considered a big deal either, and its a pretty big staple in local dating when your not feeling creative (the other staple of course being movies). Not sure what it's like where you are Low, but I know here the more creative types will seek out local entertainment. That could be something fairly mundane like a hockey game at the Convention Centre, or finding some indie act performing in some place off the beaten path (art student territory, not my thing). Local sports aren't uncommon to go and watch. In the summer, we are pretty flush with beaches, parks, and hiking trails.

Today...
I want it to be cooler out tomorrow, since I plan on being outside for much of the day. Not much else going on in my life  Massively enjoying watching some olympics though, and we had a pretty good day to day for Canada. I think we snagged a gold, silver, and a bronze, which is a nice padding to our total, and our first gold these games. I just enjoy watching all these sports that I either wouldn't normally watch, or never get a chance to watch. Also one of the best commentator comments I have heard so far implied that we got disqualified from one of the paddling events in 1936 >.> I think the award goes to 'she has great abs' though

Does revenge lead to regret?
I would disagree. Revenge is a result of anger, and anger most certainly can skew your judgement, as you'll know if you have ever been 'seeing red' before. People get mad enough that they take action without any thought at all (I've been that mad once). Now, you can't really plot revenge while your so angry that you've gone primal, but it's not like an on/off switch. The trick for a study is to get people mad enough that they will act against their own best interests, and as an example I will give you a recent local news story. Long story short, she cheated on him and he killed her with absolutely no plan for getting away with it, even going so far as to call a witness into the house (then trying to kill them). But surely if you have ever been angry before you know that it skews your judgement, how much depending on how angry you are. Since revenge is something you do while angry, your judgement has to be off kilter. We know our emotions (all of them) influence the way we act. Besides, skewed judgement doesn't mean you totally stop understanding the concept of money. Unless your so angry that you are acting totally without thinking, your not going to lose that concept entirely, though you might find the angrier you are the more money someone would spend on revenge, and they might be spending beyond their means if they are mad enough.

Does revenge lead to regret?
My experience has been that acting in anger does feel good while your angry, but the anger will fade with time. In one case, I even used my anger as a shield against my guilt, keeping myself angry about something long past the point it was reasonable, so that I could justify my actions to myself and not feel bad about them. I'm glad that I recently found a way to get past that, and to actually forgive myself so that I don't carry that anger and regret with me anymore (found a person actually, but that's a different story), because I thought that was something I was going to take to the grave with me. But back to my point, either your left in a state where you have to be angry forever to justify whatever action you took in anger, such as seeking revenge, to yourself, or your going to go through a period of guilt once the anger passes, or can't be sustained. Your going to realize that what you did was silly/stupid/mean, and your going to wish, at least for a moment, that you had handled things differently. I think that any action we take born of anger or frustration that has us thinking differently is something we will ultimately come to regret once we are able to resume or normal state of (more) rational thought. I believe this to be inevitable, because when we are angry we lose that rational thought, and so the choices we make will invariably differ from the ones we would normally make, and so we will disagree with them (ourselves) after the fact. This leaves you in a state where you are trying to rationalize what you did, and where you potentially feel bad about what you did. It's just not a good place to be in mentally.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Never a fan of petty revenge. If her hurting him is wrong, how can it be right for him to hurt her back? Doing something like that takes you from being a reasonable person with reasonable expectations to being a jealous monster. I can't say she didn't have it coming, because she did. I just think that how he dealt with it means their both despicable and should both be doomed to loneliness forever. Allowing hurt feeling to be transformed into anger like that is how you become a real life monster. That he is proud of what he did is just pathetic. At least people who cheat aren't normally proud of it. though he'll probably wake up someday and realize what a terrible person he is, or was, and balance will be achieved. So I'm with Sir_Squab. That's all he needed to do, and all the situation called for.

HP support thingy on my laptop crashed it I think, so I never let it do anything. It doesn't seem to have any trouble on my PC, which is a well oiled machine and runs 7 instead of Vista, so I largely ignore it. It does it's thing and it doesn't bother me at all. That's also the first time I have ever heard of adopted grandparents, though I think I get the idea now. Moving in a few days before starting at University is key. Gives you time to get to know all your housemates. And yes, you do have the small room now unless your lease specified which room you get. That's what you get for being last :P

Heh, one of the staff said the same thing to me right after I posted that (about the AVG), but no worries, I haven't used AVG in a while. This computer is using MSE, and I can't see changing that for a while. Good solid program. I guess a little over a week now, I was bending over in the kitchen and went to crouch down, and forgot that the kitchen table was right behind me because we are redoing the kitchen, and essentially sat on the corner of it so that the very bottom of my tailbone slammed down on the corner. The thing is, it still hurts. Starting to wonder if there is a nerve cluster or something on the bottom of it. Not overly concerned since it's more of a still sore than actual pain, and sitting or biking doesn't bother it, but it is kind of silly that it still hurts so long after the fact.

Most Embarrasing moment
That's a good one. For me, there are certain trigger phrases that cause certain responses as a result of my time in the service industry, especially since taller was one of my jobs. More than once I have found myself accidently reversing the role of teller and customer, where I guess I am essentially thanking them for letting me shop there. I'm not even sure if they notice, or if I just seem ridiculously polite or what, but it embarrasses me.

Today...
Sort or reminds me of a malicious ad I once caught watching a show steamed online. This is why I now run no script and ad block all the time, and have never gone back to that site just to be extra safe. I lost the ability to run all programs (executable just stopped working), except by using the run as administrator option, so I used that to run a system restore. That repaired most of the damage, and I ran a scan once it finished its recovery with the internet disabled, cleared off the male ware, then reconnected, updated and did another scan and all was good. So far my PC has never been infected, and I think with my laptop that was the only infection it ever got, though AVG did once decide that my GTA SA executable was a virus and I had to reinstall the game. I'm not sure if that was AVG being crazy, or if something did sneak on that I have forgotten about, and infected the executable. Anyway, it was a real eye opener to see just how fast a java driveby can do its work. Took two seconds to infect me, and 4 hours to clean it up.
