Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
This one bothers me too, especially in writing.

Diablo III
Just had a look at the gameplay from the beta, and it looks pretty true to its roots. I had been wondering if they would go for a proper 3rd person since that is the norm for modern games, or if they would stick to their isometric roots. Most of the feel of the game seems to have been preserved. Three things really jumped out at me during my 5 minutes. You seem to just get skills, rather than needing to choose which really surprised me since that was a huge part of the predecessors. The map seems to be oddly linear instead of the wide open expanses and dizzying mazes, though it might just be that I didn't watch for long enough, or that the beta simply doesn't cover nearly enough of the game. The third thing is the physics, which might be a tiny gripe from me. The physics are so exagerated that its actually comical, which doesn't really fit with the more serious tone of the game (or maybe the barbarian is just even stronger than he looks).

Huh, forgot about most suits containing wool. I guess I haven't touched enough of them.

Is there a God?
Not sure I got the question. In regards to my having a better understanding of belief, none of my religious beliefs exist in my head as absolute fact. They are always open for constant revision, and a part of me is atheist anyway, because my logical self has examined my belief structure and concluded that, for me, it exists as a comfort and support mechanism to help reduce stress and keep me sane if I accidently think about the fact that one day I am going to die. It also means I self limit my religion views to those which have no impact on how I live my life. They deal exclusively with my soul. Where it comes from and where its going. I have no religious views (that I know of) on abortion or the legal system. I don't think that killing is wrong because you will go to hell (partially because I actually don't believe in hell at all, at least not a separate entity from heaven), I think its wrong because I value life. As for the whether or not movement is time anyway (obviously an understanding of time will do nothing to change our perception of it), it matters to me because of my need to understand the universe, regardless of whether it has any impact or not. The concept of a constantly changing universe vs moving through a static one in sequence would determine if future events are set or not. It doesn't mean anything, unless we actually invent time travel, but that doesn't reduce my curiosity. As a side point, with complex enough math, and the tools to measure everything, you could (probably) model the entire universe and run it in accelerated time to predict the future (I think this falls under hidden variable theory which states that nothing is truly random, that everything can be predicted with sufficient knowledge and data).

There is a certain skin tone (the one called winter) that black and white can compliment. Also, the darker your skin, the better black will look (at least to me) and the worse blue in particular will get (I don't think anyone looks good in both colors). I also just noticed that the reason I said I don't like grey is because for some reason I was only thinking of tweed suits, which as a point of persoal taste I don't like at all (both in look and texture. I can't bear the feeling of any fabric with wool in it). Grey is great though.

Is there a God?
Heh, I remember those, and well enough to know at least concioulsy that they aren't valid. What I can't tell is if I was inspired by them, or if I used selective logic to justify part of one of them. What I do know is that the logic basis was that the first three dimensions are physical, so it would reasonably follow that the fourth (time) is also a physical dimension, which would make time itself movement. What I will say, is that I now have a much better grasp of what true belief is (because this is not at all how I feel about religion, which I already did know). I am also going to need to read some actual real theories now too.

Is there a God?
Warning: I might be making things up. I'm not really sure. Someone mentioned time and predetermined destiny a while back, and I had a thought. My understanding of the current understanding of time is that its not thing change so much as we progress through different sequential states of being. In human terms you could imagine living in a two dimensional world, where all the changes are represented by the two dimensional slice moving through three dimensional space. In other words, what we perceive as time is actually movement through a dimension that we can't comprehend. What this would imply is that all time coexists, and it is only our perception that is limited. This would mean that everything that has happened and everything that will ever happen exists right now, outside our ability to perceive it. It's not an argument that you can't determine how your life plays out, just that your life has already played out and you just don't know it yet. Actually, its kind of like the matrix when the oracle keeps saying that you've already made the choice, which would make our perception of life the journey to understand the choices we make. Of course, since I don't have the fogiest idea where this understanding actually came from, its also entirely possible that I just drempt it up a while ago and now falsely remember it as a real memory. Either way, its made sense to me for as long as its been in my head, at least as much as an incomprehensible concept can make sense (the concept of understanding an additional dimension would be a akin to trying to imagine what infraread or ultraviolet colors look like. The human brain simply can't do it, because the entire concept is not supported by the brain hardware itself any more than an N64 processor would be able to process 64 bit colors in 1080P resolution). EDIT: And maybe this is how religion starts. The brain just makes shit up because of some desire to understand the world/universe, so it takes everything it knows at that time, and figures out an answer that makes sense to it. The trick would be accepting a different viewpoints, and now that I think about it, I probably made this up and then forgot that's what happened, and I'm pretty sure that the second someone gives me an actual real theory, my brain is going to attempt to disregard it for the theory it likes more (the one it made up). And now that I have blown my own mind, I need to eat something.

Working Bloom + AA on DirectX
The difference (for me) is that the Catalyst control center either ignores program settings or it doesn't, as a global setting, so the only problem is that doing this will apply it to every game. I also can't test that bloom is actually working from inside the runespan unless someone runs past me with a comp cape, but I have aa turned off and my graphics card is happily ignoring that, so I assume it is.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Looks good Nox. And while I hope the consideration of marrige isn't on the table yet, I don't see anything wrong with running through a what if situation that has her moving back to wherever your from once she is done, if things are still going well. The really tricky part is that this conversation should be had with her as well, sooner rather than later, and there really is no way to bring it up without sounding over enthusiastic.

The color has more to do with your skin tone actually, but I figure its too much to ask most guys to get their colors done. For example though, I can't wear black because it makes me look like I'm dying (and I wish that we're an exaggeration). As a general rule, I would not recommend a grey suit though. If your not going with black (and since when are those funeral only. I'd say easily 50% of the suits I see ever are black), go with either blue or brown.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Yeah, you might want to bring that up at some point. Also, if your not ready to commit to someone yet, then just what the [bleep] are you doing right now anyway? I'm pretty sure she is looking for some sort of commitment since, being a virgin flings obviously aren't her thing, and the massive amount of time between meeting you and actually approaching you.

Runespan node siphon
I haven't done the math myself, but I've seen numbers for 87 and 84, which would suggest that for you, nebulas, shifters and jumpers are all probably about the same. Once your up to 87 shifters are the best, followed by jumpers, and the xp goes down till bloody skulls. Nebulas are still pretty good, but the xp really seems to cut off the further down you go. That said, almost all the nodes are still going to be better xp than death and blood wraiths.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
My warning would be that people don't tend to enjoy working with people who are an item, especailly when its a new thing (as in it would be different if you had been married for 30 years). So you can expect some hostility from the people you work with.

Is there a God?
And as a point of interest, the Bible can be used either way on a number of issues because of the contradictions. So another quote, much as I hate to keep doing this: It really depends on the religion. Some of them promote peace and kindness, and caring for others, and some promote hatred and violence. You don't need religion to do that though. Just because some of the religions promote terrible things doesn't mean that all of them do. While some are busy trying to get people to blow shit up attack gay people, others are trying to get people to accept everyone and provide humanitarian aid to other countries.

Is there a God?
The easiest way to explain the difference between moderates and fundamentalists, as they view the bible, is to let them speak for themselves. So here are the views on the bible from the UCoC and another religion which I am just not going to name, that falls on the fundamentalist side. A moderate religion encourages you to think for yourself and find meaning in the scripture, rather than blindly follow it. A fundamentalist religion will tell you what to believe and how to act.

Is there a God?
You're telling me we can split an atom, build a computer, get across oceans and fly in the air AND SPACE. and yet no one can scientifically disprove the fact that a higher power doesn't exist? Mankind has disproved MANY phenomena at many times through history. Why does one of the oldest still remain with...a rather large following. I'm just saying, we can explain damn near everything - but not God.. It intrigues me. I do believe god exists. By that logic, ghosts, aliens, Bigfoot, chupacabras, the Lochness Monster and the Illuminati exist as well. Actually, most of those can be proven false because we actually know their origins, and therefore know they are made up (I am specifically referring to the Illuminati, chupacabras, and the Lochness Monster here).

From our friends at Wikipedia: So I'm not sure that inaction is really enough. It looks like you need to have prior knowledge of the crime, but also you need to do something (or not do something) to help that crime take place. I'm not sure if just not reporting it to the police is enough. This is when it's good to have a lawyer in the family. Every family should have one.

I've been thinking about Egg's situation too, and I agree with Champion. How much flirting is acceptable is really up to the person/couple, and I would say that the responsibility lies with both parties to 'defend their honor'. For me, I'll take a few compliments or jokes, but I've also had people who we're so determined to ignore the fact that I was with someone that they didn't stop until I promised that if they said another word I was going to stand on their chest and swing a sledge hammer into their crotch until they didn't have a dick left to think with, because at some point it goes from compliment to incredibly disrespectful to me and my partner. So yes, he's a tool for coming on to her while you guys we're in a relationship, but it doesn't exactly sound like this was a one sided deal. She could have told him to [bleep] off, and instead I presume they are sleeping together. I'd also like to say that from where I stand, doing the whole intimidation thing makes you one of those crazy jealous stalker exes that end up having restraining orders filed against them. As for the whole illegal activity thing, I guess for me it would probably come down to what she is doing. As far as I can tell, 5-15 seems to be shortest sentence the United Stats justice system has on the books, so that covers everything from robbing a convenience store to driving really fast. But I do think that if you turn her in, you will regret it for the rest of your life (unless she is doing something that is going to get other people hurt, in which case it might be the other way around).

Is there a God?
I've always particularly liked this interpretation myself. I generally subscribe to a more 'general will of the Universe' sort of thing I guess you could say, rather than a specific being. Though I can't say I would be surprised if we one day found out that what we believed to God was an alien or aliens. After all, technology beyond your current level of comprehension would certainly appear to be supernatural or magical. Or maybe I just watch way too much sciencefiction. And a point about the bible that flows from my point about technology appearing to be magical, you have to consider when the scripture that become the bible (or was left out) was written. Proceeding under the assumption for a second that there is a god, regardless of the nature of said god, the word of god would have to be communicated in language that could be understood by the people of the time. Concepts like evolution, or the science involved in the creation of the universe, would have just been totally beyond understanding. The groundwork for some of the concepts we grasp today simply did not exist, and would have been pointless because the concepts wouldn't be in existence for thousands of years (there is no reason to assume that such a book would be understandable even today). So the bible was written as a product of the concepts of the times. This also means that to some extent, it has to be written withing the social constraints of the times, because if you march in with concepts of how to behave (like equality) that run contrary to how eveyone has been living so far, they are going to rebel against them. Change takes time. And as an aside while we are assuming god exists, I feel like if we weren't meant to question god, or have different religions, then either proof would be presented to us, or we wouldn't have the capacity to question such things in the first place.

There is currently a memory leak in the world map that causes people to crash to safe mode until the game is reloaded ([qfc]25-26-187-63506974[/qfc]). I don't know about any others.

I have decided to go with a new comic every month in my signature. This next one (3rd one so far) is one I really like (I only pick ones I really like to be a signature, naturally). I also might set up one of those rotating signatures so that I can run though them faster, but that's a June project if I remember.
