  1. The glitch seems to be tied to the runesphere, so if you don't have one it won't go wild. Things start going off the rails either when it appears or when its been mined through (things seemed fine during the search, so I think its once its been minded to the core). When it vanishes, everything goes back to normal. That was good for at least 40k xo too (the glitch period).
  2. Totally broken again. I feel like it happened right when the rune sphere came out, so maybe thats causing the problem. Anywy, great time to get xp
  3. For fun, I did some rought personal training xp rates (so they aren't meant to be word of god accurate, just enough to tell me what to do). These are at 78 RC. Law: 39k xp/h with 1200 points/h Death: 42k xp/h with 1750 points/h Blood: 39k xp/h with 1600 points/h For anyone wondering, at 78 you fail a fair number of death, and a large number of blood, which is why the they are all so close.
  4. It's really not speculation for anyone who was in Runespan earlier. It is blazingly obvious to anyone who was around when we we're swimming in nodes that they changed it. That or the RuneScape servers are now allowed to change the variables that control node spawns of their own free will.
  5. Being in public and getting an itch in a spot which would not be appropriate to scratch.
  6. This. Just cpa each node by type and floor. Simple. I like the movement, except for the summoning one which is much slower than the others. I don't think its even half as fast.

Well this is cheerful. First, my condolences to the guy who drove over someone on accident. I can't imagine how terrible that must be to go through for him, legal system aside. Second, that's terrible about your friend being murdered. I hope his family and yourself will get through that alright. Third, I like that description of wedding speeches. Very true.
  8. The problem with hotfixes is this wasn't actually quality tested, and Jagex will probably forget about it and leave us with this for a few months until they notice they screwed up the xp rates (like they did with the flash factory today). I was hoping they would make it so there wasn't a ludicrous number of weak nodes, not totally annihilate your chance of finding even a chaotic cloud. Also, they have totally removed the incentive to not camp, because if you actually leave your law hound to look, there is nothing out there. So this is more of a nerf than a rebalance or even a bug fix, unless this was how it was supposed to work (camping). EDIT: And if this is how its going to stay, I can't see this place being very busy.
  9. I think they need to cap the total number of each type of node, for each level. That should keep things in check.
  10. Something that myself, and a lot of other people are noticing is that as time goes on, the nodes in the runespan are getting really common. Some of the larger islands now have upwards of 20 nodes on them, and even all teh smaller ones are consistently at 2-3, when right after the release, most of the small islands didn't even always have one. By the time 24 hours has passed, we are going to be wading through a sea of nodes.
  11. You might think it looks better, but it really doesn't. Just wear short sleeves if you want short sleeves.
  12. Your fault for having any expectations. Not to sound like a complete pessimist but this is actually a GOOD update, since it didn't nerf anything and it didnt come with a price tag of "$9.99 at our new cash shop" You do realize you essentially just defined a good update as one that doesn't actually change anything. From where I stand, I could care less about the event. I actually think its kind of neat that Jagex might start showcasing their updates before they are released (though I also generally hate teasers so I am a bit torn). On the other hand, I am pretty much cynic gone wild in regard to Jagex now, which means I have to assume they have some ulterior motive for this (I have lost my ability to believe that they can do things for fun anymore. The pee-hats will probably be the last update I will ever be able to see that way). I also think its a waste of time to do this sort of thing when it has no impact on the game (cool as it is). It's finally happening isn't it? :ohnoes: I've become one of those people who complains about Jagex for the sake of it  Ah well, its kind of fun. I can see why so many people do this lol. Someone slap me...
  13. I'm pretty much out of patience on this issue, and I'm one of the lucky ones who normally at least gets in the 15-25 range. 23 is about the threshold for where I can really notice the frames, and when I first go this PC, is was maxing out all the time, maybe dropping as low as 35 while running through the GE. It could still generally max out while using the TV which is a higher resolution than my monitor. I do get bouts of BS though, and it makes me nervouse sometimes, or I avoid entire areas of the game where I can see the frames. To be fair, I am also running the game at maxed. Anti-aliasing isn't really a negotiable point for me anymore. I've gotten spoiled <_<
  14. I can't read on a computer screen. Even for papers, when I proofread my work (which is like 5-10 pages double normally), I just print it off. I miss more on computers, and I can't read (one long thing) for extended periods on a computer. Messes with my concentration.

Makes sense I suppose (@Giordano). Mine was external, but not really portable anyway since it needed its own power source. I also probably have 17GB at least in flash drives (one 8, two 4's, and I think two 512's). I also have another 8GB in micro SD''s that both my PC and Laptop (plus my phone) can read, so I'm normally set for whatever I might need to take with me until I can get back to my PC, so doubling the internal storage space made sense. Actually more than the external (it was bought external because it was originally to extend the memory of my laptop) because the internal SATA cable is a lot faster than a USB. Also, last night I was using a swiss army knife to cut the paper top out of my peanut butter jar, because apparently the cheaper brand uses bullet proof paper with no tabs for grabbing it. Went to lick the peanut butter off it, and well, the blade is still surprisingly sharp after a few years. Nice clean cut though (lip), if not a little deep, but the cut holds closed naturally and once I stopped bleeding after 40 minutes it was all cool and I could go back to eating. This morning there is barely a line in my lip. No scabbing or anything, its totally back together (the mouth heals super fast which is nice). But yeah, me and knives apparently.

Do what I did with mine and just stick it inside the computer?
  17. So I missed a preview of a game that has essentially already been explained in a dev blog? Boo hoo lol.

I was never up for a 30 hour famine. I start trying to vomit at about 16-18 hours without food. I wouldn't do well in a famine :( I did go 4 weeks in the hospital without food though, which is exactly as fun as it sounds (and I got sick a lot at first as my stomach made its displeasure known). Also, there are a staggering number of commercials for food on TV, so I spent most of my time on a laptop or playing xbox.
  19. I figured it would be, and I think that's where the people who are telling you to put the school first are coming from. EDIT: and now I'm going to redo the rest of this because it was terrible. I should shower before posting here more often. You in an interesting situation (as are all student). A relationship is an 'us' thing, or at least it should be. But right your really shapping your future, or at least your determining what your options will be in the future, and as a student, your still in the totally selfish phase of your life where your only really accountable to yourself (and there is nothing wrong with that). Anyway, its interesting because you have this 'us' relationship, but you also still have to deal with 'self/me'. What do you need. And that makes things tricky, and its probably what kills a nice number of student relationships is that you get together and then find out your lives aren't compatible after all (and not saying this is the case here). I'm having a thought here, which is good because I still have no way to wrap this one up. It might help you to know if you two have a shot after your done with school or not, so maybe take some time and try to plan out the first 10 or so years of your life post education, and have her do the same, and see if your lives are going to be compatible, and what sort of compromises might need to be made. It's sort of a one sided test, in that it only confirms if you should bail or not, but I think it would be good for the both of you no matter what the outcome is.

Well, that's not cool (not to mention that last bit being potentially illegal depending on the ages and if your in Canada or the US). That's the sort of party where I would just leave.
  21. I guess what its going to come down to is how much are you going to regret this? One possibility is that your going to get to Cornell (if I followed everything right), and its going to be a great school and your going to be very happy with the way things worked out. Or you could get there and stew over how much you would rather be in Stanford for a year. And a large part of it will probably depend on your frame of mind. I guess the risk is, if you get there and your not happy, its going to turn into a lifelong regret for you, and its going to manifest itself as resentment, which is a recepie for a nasty marriage/divorce if you get that far. Its also a really easy way to be miserable for the rest of your life, stuck in possibilities of what might have been. On the other hand, a certain amount of compromise is expected in a relationship (this is a two way street however). What you have to hope for is that neither of you have a conflicting issue where compromise isn't possible. So I guess what it really comes down to for me are these questions: Is this relationship worth enough to you that you are willing to make compromises on your dreams? Can you live with the compromise and be happy with it? Even if the relationship doesn't work out? If you answer no to any of those three questions, then honestly, I'd start making new plans pronto.
  22. OT gets post count and 3 sub forums :P
  23. Getting interested about what the event will be. I do hope it doesn't disappointing (not that I'll care at the time). Something to keep me interested for the days until the update might be a bit much though. I also plan to roll around the block while laughing if the event only happens on members servers (Jagex haven't deliberately hyped anything f2p that I can remember for a while).
  24. And if you ever get tired of talking about RuneScape, head on over to Off Topic which is where I am normally to be found. Always looking for fresh blood in OT
  25. Sometimes other people like details. Just a thought ;)
