What about current mining guild congestion? Did that inspire it too? :-s <*is curious*> ~Mr. Devnull -
Tip.it Times Presents: Realistic Games? No thanks.
D. V. Devnull replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
I have skipped most of the posts here just in case of flamers, because I don't want their opinions leaving me in "stupid grumble mode" all day long. Now, for my opinion... The Editor, well said. =D> I honestly could not have said it better myself. Put simply, if I couldn't escape reality with games, I'd be in a looney farm already. :| <*Dives into RuneScape...*> ~Mr. Devnull -
So that's how to do it. *Grin* Thanks for the info... maybe I can force this game to give me the remaining 2 mime emotes I need to complete that set! (Tip: I don't break the rules, so I've been looking for a legal way to trip the system.) <*Heads off to make the mime come... :-w ...*> ~Mr. Devnull

Wow, nice. I am happy to hear that news. I am still waiting for the day that I get a non automated message. :XD: I'm glad to hear it too. This may mean that this idea WILL go through. ~Mr. Devnull -

As you requested for my elaboration for this suggestion I can explain my decision :). I disagreed for many reasons, the apparent one is the matter for rune rocks to be in the mining guild. If rune rocks are there the prices of rune ores will be cheap, and thus will decrease the prices of rune items. Therefore the economy of runescape will go down. Moreover, if rune rocks are there instead of the wildy so many players will go there and mine them, even P2P players will come and mine beside F2P players. That will considerably increase competition between the miners. The other reason which I think it's apparent too, there are high numbers of admantite rocks in lumbridge swamp and wildy (around level 30) and I think it's pretty enough according to the number of rocks there ;). Shahrazad, go look back at my post on page 3. The in-game economy needs to crash temporarily to get rid of the autoers. ~Mr. Devnull -

Off-Topic: Nope, I don't, eyehawk78. :) ========================= On-Topic: It isn't a matter of Albosky not being able to do it (due to knowlege or MODs). It's just a flat out waste of time and server resources. Running through all 2.6m posts (plus PMs) and replacing tags so they work with the changes would take a ton of server resources and just isn't worth the time and headaches it would cause. Points taken. I guess I can just forget this. Although I hate not being able to use possessive forms of language in the Hide Tag and any characters that would be such in URL tags, I guess I need to get used to living with it, just like the million-some-odd other users. I will admit, though, I do wonder just how many other people have felt the same way as I have... :-k ... Someone lock this thread before the flaming can go any further, unless anyone wishes to wait for on-topic stuff in regard to this matter. ~Mr. Devnull (Un-official Flame Attractant of Tip.It :wall: ... [Yes, I'm aiming the joke at myself, have a laugh!] ...) -
davidium, who posted above me, has just shown proof that 3 to 5 hours a day is NOT "no lifeing"... Please don't insult the intelligent people, thanks. (Tip: 16 hours a day would be "No lifeing"! Thank Saradomin that I don't!) You're welcome. LOL  ~Mr. Devnull

You were saying? I fully agree. :) ... It has the bonus of putting a fast end to overly young children playing in spots where they shouldn't be. :) ~Mr. Devnull
-
I'm not disagreeing with you... however, you might be surprised just how many parents don't fully watch their children and just how fast that the children accelerate in learning beyond the parents, and then start hiding stuff from the parents. (Kinda scary, actually. :ohnoes: ...) ~Mr. Devnull That's true. But most of the underage players aren't member, seeing as their parents won't pay for it. If they were, there should be a notice that tells their parents about all of the malicious Runescape related hackware. And that Runescape is not affiliated with them in any way and it should NOT be downloaded. Yeah, that's kind of the hilarious thing about this whole mess. There are underage players, their parents are paying for P2P for their kids, and there is no warning up that I know of in that area that tells parents about hackware that messes with RuneScape and to not download it. Of course, think about it... if Jagex puts up a warning like that in the area to pay for P2P, can you imagine all the people that would be scared away? Jagex would lose money out the ears because people would be scared away from paying due to just seeing that warning. So Jagex hasn't put that warning up because it would destroy business. And at this point, everyone knows how Jagex wants money. Looks like greed is causing problems. :( I'd be at all surprised if this changed while I wasn't looking. I hope a P2P user replies and confirms or denies this. ~Mr. Devnull

That's a "If you no-life it" estimate, I would say in my own honest and dismal opinion. :( Adrenal, if you want a real estimate of how long it would take, then take into consideration that my current stats for F2P (2 of which are not displayed, both 60+) took me about 2 years to achieve. To be very honest, you're looking at around 4 to 5 months of "life-interrupted" playing time if you're going to reach 40 or more on all F2P stats. Of course, this estimate revolves around playing an average of about 3 to 5 hours a day. Since you're only going to do half an hour a day, expect it to be 6 to 7 times as long, so around 2 to 2.5 years. Enjoy it, however. And good luck to you. Your first steps will be your most interesting, especially as you learn each and every thing that there is to F2P RuneScape. :) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Yes, and please don't refer to me as just "Null"... I know your heart was in the right place, but personally I much more rather toward being called "DV" (First two initials) or "Devnull" (Full last name) if you're not gonna use my full userid. Thanks. ~Mr. Devnull -

I support the organizable buddy list and/or multiple list set. However, I won't support the mailbox at this time because you're being "P2P eliteist" about it. There should be a universal mailbox system for all at the minimum, and then add features onto that for P2P, no less. ~Mr. Devnull -

Heh, that link is so small that I missed it, and ended up spending about 30 minutes digging around for your announcement thread as to usage. :anxious: (I know, idiotic/lame/stupid, huh? :( ...) Anywho, talking to phpBB group sounds like an idea I may have to go follow. :-k A little bit longer? Yeah, that's why I was saying I didn't mind how long it took, even if it was the next phpBB version, just as long as it didn't cause any stress to the person I'm quoting just above you, Albosky. Maybe phpBB group can provide clean-up services to those who have modded their stuff a lot. :-s ~Mr. Devnull -
Thats a new bashing I have not heard of before. Vista is not bad, have you used it within the last 2 months? If not, don't say anything (this implies to all you vista bashing people). Grr... I hate having to repair quotes... blade995, have you tried changing out hardware parts constantly (like 1 every 20 days because you forgot to upgrade something and ran into trouble) in an attempt to better your computer? If not, don't argue with me, seeing as I've had to read the horror stories. Further, Microsoft has stipulated in their most recent EULAs and through their lawyers that you can't change any hardware or the PC that Vista was installed on is no longer the PC that Vista is supposed to be on. BTW, that triggers the re-activation procedures. (And right there is the reason I don't get near Vista. MicroSoft's activation scheme, which also tries to control the hardware you use. Can't even change the damn mouse. -.- ...) Now, I've shown the point. Like I said, Vista doesn't like hardware enthusiasts. <*Punches out blade995 and walks off.*> ~Mr. Devnull

They should have read the rules when they signed up. And if they didn't, serves them right. Would cut down on the number of sub-13-year-olds, wouldn't it? :P On the side, I wonder just how many member accounts would suddenly go away because of that kind of effect. Are there more sub-13-year-olds that are P2P than I think? :-k And BTW, bubbyjoe2, when you're quoting someone, QUOTE PROPERLY! I just had to fix that for this post when I saw that you'd duplicated someone's text without the Quote Button. ~Mr. Devnull

About 15 minutes or 20 kills of the same monster type. Don't move out of the map section you're in or it resets. Okay, for this, I will use math... M = Monster Level Y = Your Level at which monsters become non-aggro < = Is Less Than (this one is obvious basic math notation) Formula for Level? "M * 2 < Y" I hope all that helps. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Tiragath2, I suggest you try Level 4 of the SOS. Ankous make for some nice killing exp, and they drop some of the best stuff. :) ~Mr. Devnull -
Jagex really needs to find a different way of handling these problems that won't hurt innocent players. ~Mr. Devnull
